eh no.

Probably some Natsu shit.

No way, this mini-arc is all about Wendy and Chelia, it HAS to be about them.

-Wendy left FT and went straight to LS to be with Chelia.
-She won't quit LS because she wants to stay with Chelia.
-She sleeps in the same freaking room as Chelia.
-She has never shown any romantic interest in a male character.
-Mashima already displayed his fondness for moe yuri with Mavis and her little girlfriend in Zero.

It's gon' happen.

Prison School 15

Finally decided to read this.

Slayed @ chapter 15. utterly slayed. Dem misunderstandings are comedy gold.

Having said that, dat student council strikes me as in serious need of boyfriends, holy hell.

I picked the absolute best time to catch up on the manga.

These six chapters contained nothing but pure awesomeness.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

There were fansubs in the 90s?
Yeah, you had to get VHS.
America didn't have DB in the 90s?
Some company tried to adapt Dragon Ball in the 80s, but failed with that.
Dragon Ball Z started running around 1997, and then exploded around 1999.
On TV it was edited, though they were released both edited and uncut on home video. Many still cried foul at editing, and there were fansubs with a lot of cursing.

Prison school has blown me away. A clear S tier rank, where I have it with akamatsu, togashi, and sorachi.

Mother of God. Why haven't I read this before? this has been missing all my life.

not only S rank, it even has made my all time top 3. Negima!, Prison School, Gintama...
displaced hunter x hunter to 4th and moved punpun to 5th.

Blown the fuck away. Hiramoto Akira, Your name is worth remembering. I will NOT forget your contribution to your profession as I have recognized those of S rank.

Gekkan Shojo Nozaki kun 61

This chapter got me thinking to upgrade my phone.
New couple born thanks to the string phone. This could be one shot on its own.

Caught the hype for it here, so I decided to check it out myself:

Horimiya 1-20

Pleasant, charming, innocent. If I said I was surprised about any of these things, I'd be lying. And really, there's nothing wrong with that at all. It's nice to get exactly what you expect sometimes, and not many series I've read does it quite as well as Horimiya does. It's not exactly a genre-bending piece of shoujo - most of the mainstays are present: misunderstandings, self-denial, romantic confusion, but Horimiya distances itself from the worst of those devices with its' fairly brisk moment to moment pacing, and its' strong cast of characters. The existing misunderstandings don't (or haven't, at least) go away, but the framing and scenario always seems to change. It also helps that Hori and Miyamura are two intensely likable, charming characters.

I think my favourite moments in the manga thus far have all been at home. Souta is such a lovable little kid, and I think he adds a lot to the dynamic that Hori and Miyamura share.

Suffice to say, it's cute and fun to read. Definitely locking this into my rotation, anyways.

And decided to take a peek at the 'get someone into a manga with one panel' thread. First thing I decided to check out was:

Tetsuwan Girl 1-19

I had absolutely nothing to go on when I started reading the series, just that it was about baseball. That it was set during the post-war occupation of Japan, and that it was sport in the context of the women's liberation movement were utter, but pleasant, surprises to me. It's absorbing stuff, and compellingly presented. The art's gorgeous, and most important, momentum and weight is almost tangibly felt in every pitch and swing. Baseball has never been something I've been particularly interested in, but Tetsuwan makes it visually interesting without going too over the top or exaggerated.

All of this framed in a struggle for feminine legitimacy and the cynicism, optimism, opportunism, and pressure that comes part and parcel with it. I've read sports manga before, but nothing quite like this.

Tome only makes sense as a protagonist of this kind of story. Motivated, callous, undeniably feminine. Certainly qualities that the narrative recognizes via Isuzu Ranzaki. And I actually have to admit, if there's any character I'm most intrigued by thus far, it's her. If only for how interesting I find all her success and authority and yet how strangely insincere her rhetoric of liberated women feels and how much if it is simple opportunism. Tome fits too neatly into her grand image, and I'm interested to see how much of it she means.

Gonna read Sakamoto Desu Ga, Nickelodeon, and Koe no Katachi soon, but afraid of binging on too much at once and overloading my brain.

Movie information spoiler i guess?:
Isn't
Vegeta training with Beerus too? The movie could be the revenge of Vegeta against Freezer that he deserves... at least i hope so because that would be completely awesome.

I haven't seen that anywhere, but if true I'm going to bet Vegeta's part is going to be relatively short before the almighty Goku turns up and does Freezypop in. In the entire history of Dragon Ball, no one but Goku ever got to beat the main bad guy. You could argue Gohan v Cell but I'd say even there he couldn't do it without Goku "inspiring" him from the afterlife. It would be great if it turned out as you said, but the chances of that are like 0.1% if you ask me.

I simply don't see the point of this new mini-series, even if it's for hyping up the upcoming movie or whatever, and yes, I don't actually believe that Toriyama's running out of cash, considering that he's considered to be the richest mangaka around.

I guess he was getting bored or something or felt nostalgic. I read one of his One Shots not too long ago....it had the exact same premise as Dragon Ball without the Dragon Balls. Dude doesn't have a shred of originality left in his entire being it seems.

Prison School is enlightenment!

Don't forget to read Me and the Devil Blues, also by Hiramoto, for something completely different, but equally amazing.

He probably just doesn't care much and is doing it for fun (and profit). Must be boring to be filthy rich.

Yeah Ultra Battle Satellite was enjoyable, but I still prefer Cyborg Roggy out of all the Jump Start series. God is Roggy such a loveable bastard, the second chapter was pretty great. Now I really hope it stays.

I'm betting on Cyborg Roggy because man is it good, plus the art is great. The series doesn't deserve to be axed, the MC reminds me of Gintoki and he's one of my favorite MCs in Jump.

Seriously if this gets axed but Black Clover doesn't I'll be severly dissapointed.

Its not gonna end well for me is it.
I like that you like Tokyo Ghoul, but Black Clover totally shits all over the other contenders. Even though it screams Naruto/OP, it still has a strong sense of originality. It has the potential to print money and also be quite good for a while:l.

Roggy was alright, but it seems just like a crappier Gintama.

Brah if there's one thing that doesn't fit with Black Clover it's originality. The amount of cliches and generic tropes it contains is a lot. It tries to mashup every popular thing from other manga which ends up making the series not have its own identity. The author has some good ideas but he isn't effectively using them, which is why Hungry Joker ended up getting axed in the past. That's why I hope as he progresses he gets better because right now it's alright to meh. So let's hope he gets better.

Roggy at least is differientiating from the others by having a interesting premise of human augmentation which could end up with cool abilities, and the world building has potential as well but that's if the author effectively uses them properly. Plus Roggy is such a fun and enjoyable MC and imho he has the most unique and best design compared to the other series. He's also to me the most interesting character. Also being similar to Gintama in a little sense isn't a bad thing, in fact it's a great thing.

I'm just really glad that this round of serialization is much better than the last 2, like holy shit thank god.
