Metal Gear Solid V Day one and Collectors editions announced

That's gotta be some of the worst CE's goodies I've ever seen. Who wants an arm on their shelf? Lol

Sad about that box art, both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are using shitty renders instead of the gorgeous Shinkawa artwork the previous games had. Not even the steelbook gets artwork :\

I realize Kojima has all the nice merchandise made specially for himself. There are nice MGS branded meechandise, but it's typically sold outside the LE's and CE's. I'd still like the arm.

This time around not even the Japanese get Yoji Shinkawa box art. When I get this on Steam, I'm going to make a custom header with Shinkawa art.
 
Will go with the standard edition.

I was sorely tempted by the Making Of BD, but I have no interest in having a plastic hand lying around my flat or, more realistically, staying in the box when it is essentially making up the bulk of the additional cost.

Slightly bummed with it being September also (had primed myself for June-ish based on the rumours) but I was planning on going through the series again on PS3 beforehand anyway so now I have more time for that.

I'll be selling that hand statue and keeping the rest. Anyone here want to buy it and proudly display it so that you'll impress the ladies when they come over to your place and witness your commitment to useless gaming tchotchkes?
 
I keep swaying whether to pre-order the collector's edition or not. I'm disappointed by the steelbook's cover art, hope it's just a placeholder. I also hope there is another version with just the making of documentary and one which isn't from GAME. I want Amazon's service dammit!
 
I got to confess the North American "Collector's Edition" is a pretty disappointing parcel when compared to the Japanese "Premium Package" and the previous Metal Gear Rising content. The half-scale arm sculpture will undoubtedly appear less impressive than its overseas counterpart for obvious reasons and I'm still surprised the U.S. still gets short changed when it comes to extras, like the omitted MGS illustrations from the HD Collection artbook and the lacking Yoji Skinkawa print along with packaging for The Phantom Pain. I don't know if Konami should be praised or criticized for their unwillingness to milk the consumer by releasing numerous editions of their work reminiscent of Ubisoft or EA in those territories. In the end the practice is downright excessive, but I almost fell downhearted not having the option here outside of importing. Even with these bickering thoughts, I know I'm a horrible consumer since this game will be an undeniable purchase after I've obtained all the prior collector material and I'm aware currency speaks volumes about the supply-and-demand. I guess I'll just bite the bullet once more and make certain this will be the last venture into my favorite gaming franchise.
 
Think I'll stick with the regular edition.

Only thing that interests me is the behind the scenes documentary.

And I'm presuming someone is just going to upload it anyway.
 
damn, i'm a big MGS fan but i dunno...steelbooks nice, arm looks cool but it'd only work next to a hellboy arm, haha

also i never know if i want these things till after - what if its as bad as MGS4 was, somehow?

Honestly. I love the idea of the arm. It's what I wanted included in a CE. I only wish this had an artbook to go with it and maybe a soundtrack.

"Keep us waiting, Huh? Where the NA Collector's Editions pre orders? I guess Gamestop should have them available tomorrow. I'm surprised amazon still don't have it, thou.
