We better have rechargeable insruments.

Ah, what I meant by don't work often is when I click them it doesn't register on the screen.Take it apart and clean it? If the buttons still register, then it's probably still fine.
There's always rechargeable AA batteries. I was already using those for past RB games. I imagine putting in Lithium Ion batteries would bump up the cost of instruments.
How are they going to know you have the RB1 & 2 songs? I exported them years ago on ps3 but the hard drive has since died :/
The RB2 songs will be on your download list, tied to your PSN account. The RB1 songs exported from the disc but required you to purchase an export key, so presumably it'll recognise that and then allow you to download them from there.
Dusted off RB3 on my 360 last night to relive some memories... turns out I have a library of 518 songs that won't follow me over to the the PS4 version. :'(
I was thinking about skipping the new game altogether, but I gorgot how much my autistic 6 y/o daughter used to like watching me play. She likes how the coloured bars move down the screen towards her and last night she even tried strumming along with her own toy guitar.
Is it stupid/greedy/selfish to want an Xbone just for one game?

I don't even think it's theoretically possible. You are over-simplifying it and thinking 2 competitors would just work together just a select few people can be happy when those competitors get nothing out of it. Please adjust your expectations accordingly.I think they can implement something. I mean, both Ubisoft and EA keep metrics on you with Origin and Uplay. Whether Sony or Microsoft care is another matter, but what are they going to do, say no to the big third party publishers? It just probably doesn't make sense now, after the fact, to try to create a system like that for games that are basically dead. But there's no reason they can't just force people to make a Rock Band account when you start the game and then keep all that data on you as you play.
I imagine it's easier to deal with something like Uplay points, which are universal (I've earned points on five different platforms and can redeem those points on any other platform), but I don't see why it isn't theoretically possible.
Quick-Question: Exactly how did past installments in the Rock Band series had handled the Folk Rock/Soft Rock genres? I know Don McLean's 'American Pie' was a featured DLC song, and there was also 'The Beatles: Rock Band', but I can't think of anything else aside from those examples.
Also, I want to play some songs from bands that had focused on that genre, such as America, Air Supply, The Hollies, Bread, & so forth. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to play Fleetwood Mac's 'Face of a Pretty Girl' or Chicago's 'Colour My World'?

Can you buy an UBisoft game on PS4 and play it on the Xbox One?
Look at this Rock Band 2 tracklist

You've got some classic rock and progressive rock there.

As long as any Killers pack has Jenny Was a Friend of Mine.
RB guitars haven't had a mushy strum bar since RB2 strats onward. Mushy was a RB1-strat exclusive feature.
The way RB2-onwards strats feel in the strumbar is you feel it hit the sides of the strumbar's hole in the guitar body. There's no mush.
The RB2 guitar has a mushy strumbar....
Source: I've used it
Thinking about it, one thing I think would be really cool for some of the bigger concerts you play in RB4 would be medleys, where you play a 6 or 7 minute set containing the best (or most difficult) part of numerous songs which fit together. It would require some audio mixing and the medleys might need to be preset (customised or randomised would be favourable), but I'd love something like that. All killer, no filler style.
Also a music video editor but that seems a bit more difficult.
so why can't they make a Wii U version of Rock Band 4 so I can port over that stuff to the next gen?
Every RB2 guitar I've used, including the one I owned, did not have a mushy strumbar. They specifically changed the strumbox to get rid of that.

Still feels mushy. They should have just went with GH style guitars strumbars, since hardly any serious plastic guitar players used RB guitars anyway.
GH6 had this for 2112

What happened to Guitar Hero? They abandon that?
Have they said anything concrete about exporting the RB3 songs? Or is it just a "probably not" ?
I just picked up used copies of 1 & 2 super cheap in the hopes I'll be able to export them to rb4. Owned them way back in the day.
Do we have any idea how this is going to work?
"Look guys! Still using a mushy strumbar!"
RB guitars continue to be irrelevant
Scrubs need clicks to compete.~
Seriously, though, I prefer the RB Strat to the GH guitars.
You joke, but I used Uplay points I earned playing AC on 360 to get AC4 and Just Dance for free on PS4, so...Can you buy an UBisoft game on PS4 and play it on the Xbox One?

You think I can still get a GH5 or 6 guitar for the PS3?
I imagine that if you have a local bookstore around that takes in video games, they might have some used ones. The 2nd & Charles near where I live has an entire rack of guitar controllers.

One big question mark as far as DLC is concerned is Rock Band 3. Sussman told us that there are currently no plans for a Rock Band 3 disc export. However, he qualified that with a caveat, saying that Harmonix wanted to prioritize the items that were important to its fans. If fans want to see a Rock Band 3 disc export, then let Harmonix know via sources such as Twitter and the official Rock Band forums.
thrift stores are also a decent place to check. Mine doesn't currently have any but I already talked to my bosses about collecting the ones we get, and requesting any from the processing center if they don't want to save them for this, and when rock band 4 gets near release we will just have a mini event selling the stuff for like $5-$10 per instrument. I'm sure some others will do that too if they learn there will be demand for them.
That's cheap. I've seen used instruments go for a lot more if they're in decent shape.
