Can you imagine a WebMD except based on tiny tests on your phone? I would be a bubble person within a day.

I work for a health website and I get like that. Just looking at a condition and thinking "well I have felt like that in a while".

This crowd will cheer anything. Apple won't see it! Woo!

do you find it difficult to remember which clothes and equipment to take to your sports? Do you get your baseball gloves mixed up with your soccer boots?

Announcing kit kit, from Apple.

Did you use to enjoy a four fingered chocolate wafer snack? Are you confused by the amount of choice these days? Chunky, dark chocolate, even green tea. Well now you don't need to be confused anymore.

Announcing Kit Kat Kit from Apple.

A bunch of this (car play, health kit, research kit etc) just feels like Apple using the stage and the fact that everyone is watching to pitch new stuff. I guess make hay while you can. But recently they have felt a little bit hollow sometimes. This does sound cool but is it really a huge thing?

Will the NSA have access to this data?

Apple's been pushing end-to-end security so that even if the NSA comes knocking, they can't hand over anything. Which unfortunately seems like the most effective options now since we know the government is going to try and collect everything it can.

look at me. i'm at work eating a KFC famous bowl complaining this health kit section is going too long.

Just googled it (is this even available in Germany?). This doesn't look like much food, are you still hungry after that?

Hospitals are notorious bad at digital security, any data you send might as well be expected to become public. I don't trust any of these companies, except, ironically, Apple.

Hey Bla - if you're reading this, did you get an iPhone in the end?

Edit: Open source?! Nice.

Am I too naive thinking that something like medical research should not be tied to a specific manufacturer?

EDIT: well, there it is with being open source, crisis averted.

as much as everyone thinks apple is this great company, theyre still a corporate company working under the us government. they can pretend that they dont give them any info, but we all know the nsa is either getting it with apples approval, or doing it a backend way
