BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I cannot believe that in the year of 2015, no one was able to record and upload that livestream. I just can't :(

I was able to record about 10 minutes worth of footage before he got the banhammer. Unfortunately, if I upload the footage anywhere it will be toast within minutes :/

I hate not knowing the embargo date. Ugh. I just want the front page to be filled with Bloodborne threads. Is that too much to ask?

Someone mentioned that Dark Souls 2 embargo was day before release.

I expect this will probably be the same, as most of Sony's other published exclusives (Infamous, The Order) were also day before.

I would bet next Monday is when we will get reviews

That's true. Just gotta wait and see if he dares to come back again.

did anyone already decide on his build?

I was thinking about doing a Skill/(dex) build with threaded cane, but I've read that it's a bit weak for bosses. I like Twinblades too but for some reason they don't seem to scale well with Skill.

I already decided on Hunter's Axe because i love halberds but i don't know much about bloodtinge and arcane for me to pick a class.

I never played the dlc. That along with the 60 fps means i will be picking it up on release.

Beat 2/3 DLC's and I'm double-dipping on the release primarily for the revised enemy placements. Add to that the improved res/framerate and the convenience of having it on PS4 and its as essential a purchase to me as Bloodborne is.

Which is saying something as at this point in time I'd happily sacrifice something to Sony/From's dark gods to get my hands on the game at this point!

weapon?? damn I want this game!

Whoa! WHOAAA!!!

Edit:

Might want to spoiler tag the type of weapon too.

Is this part of the 6 weapons that Edge found from their 40 hrs gameplay?

All of you see a rather normal unimpressive weapon and freak out. What I want to know, and clearly those of great style and gentlemanly pleasures must know...

Where do you get that hat!

This "concern trolling trolling" is getting really fucking annoying. I hate whoever made people aware of the "concern trolling" term recently. Every single time someone express legitimate criticism and concern about some game people start with this bullshit.

People got concerned about the amount of weapons, why is this so offensive to you? Not every concern is fake in order to troll your favorite videogame, fuck this shit.

I was concerned, then more reports from people on reddit saying they got 14 weapons ended those concerns and it's all fine now.

I see WAAAAAAAY more "hur dur 6 weapons" joke posts than people actually concerned about the amount of weapons now that we have more sources that played the game.

I'm sure if the Edge preview mentioned long loading times you'd also be making stupid jokes about it, but since we have video evidence, no one can deny that it is indeed terrible.

man im torn... first souls game or hardline

not a fan of horror but this game doesnt look too bad in that department from what i have seen, which is making me second guess my instant hardline choice -.-

What's a hardline?

Also, what's wrong with you?

Most of them make fast conclusions.

I know I should be a bit miffed about the loading times. But I think after years and years of dealing with loading times on console games going all the way back to the Playstation I just don't care like I should.

Honestly loading screen comes up, I pour another drink, post a non-witty and uncreative statement on GAF and then go back to playing the game.

Edit: And about the "concerns" I just skip past all that bullshit. People like to complain. A lot, its human nature.

I don't even know what hardline is, but get Bloodborne.

People just give their opinion based on the info available. If it turns out that the information we had was incorrect, I'm sure most people would be reasonable enough to not lie about it.

I was concerned about 6 weapons in 40 hours and enemies not dropping weapons, as this supports low variety, but 14 on a first blind playthrough is more than enough to me, so you won't see me repeating this "low weapon count, 6 weapons only derp" crap.

And that's perfectly fine.

You don't give two shits about the loading times, but you're not acting as if people criticizing it are out of their minds or something like that.

Ok man, if you want to be concerned, be concerned. Whatever floats your boat.

Because people take a single bit of info and overreact. They latch onto a single bit of bad news, usually from one source, and act like it's a big fucking deal and something to be legitimately worried about despite not having any real, concrete information. Instead of waiting for a scrap of confirmation, people make multiple doom 'n gloom posts about their concern, which is inevitably later proven to be idiotic anyway. The problem isn't that they have potential issues with what they see, it's that they usually extrapolate far beyond the information we have and imagine the worst possible scenario. These people get laughed at because this happens time and time again, and they deserve every bit of mockery they receive.

In this scenario: Edge found 6 weapons.
People say: only 6 weapons? But I liked variety? This game isn't looking good... super worried.

That's a stupid conclusion to draw.

Maybe in this thread , the next BB was full of people talking how the game only have 6 weapons .

Truth is it's best if both sides wait for more info but somethings you already know don't make sense like the weapon count edge gave.

seriously asking "battlefield or Bloodborne"? Buy this game and thank us later.

I want a beautiful dress.

I'd usually agree with you, but we had a similar defense force for people criticising Dark Souls II based on prerelease interviews, and it didn't turn out to be ok.

Warping from the start indeed came along with worse level design, but people would say everyone was jumping to conclusions assuming the level design would be worse just because of warping. And they would actually be right, because it is jumping to conclusions, but they weren't completely out of their minds either.

Talks of downgrade got shut down as if it was some ridiculous nonsense, but we did have Dark Souls II a year before, From Software and downgrades are no strangers now.

Because anyone should have realized that there can't be just 6 weapons.

This isn't even higher level thinking shit.

Why? Infamous was a great game and reviewed very well. As was Dark Souls 2.

Plenty of quality titles have embargo dates close to launch.

To your first point, I disagree. Infamous' lack of mission variety was awful and made for a complete bore of a game.

Your second point is spot on though. Embargo dates are not an indicator of quality. I doubt Sony or From are lacking in confidence about the reception this game is going to get.

I'm in the same boat. It was either Bloodborne or Hardline and I've chosen Bloodborne. Uncovering the mysteries of Bloodborne alongside friends and GAF seems like too good an opportunity to pass up.

I don't remember Dark Souls 2 downgrade talk getting shut down. We had a huge thread on it. It was pretty well documented.

And weapon concerns and loading time concerns are two very different things.

Fair enough, I had a blast with Infamous but I can respect alternative opinions.

And yeah, as often as embargos are used to try and keep bad press under wraps, they are also used to keep story and gameplay spoilers from getting out, as well as a timed marketing tool to create a flood of headlines and buzz immediately before launch.

I'm in a similar boat, except it's Borderlands and Bloodborne. I decided to just buy both digitally and then I'll split time between both.
