BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I'm new to anything Dark Souls and a part of me is tempted to get this, no guarantees but are there are any tips for newcomers like me?

This looks like a different beast than the Souls, so any potential tips from previous games would not serve well. We are all noobs going into this game.

One thing that seems obvious to me from the vids so far is that movement is key. I am probably going to want to spend a lot of time in the beginning just messing around the controls and animations, and seeing how to make the most out of them.

In regards to trophies, a few popped but The game is not visible in the trophy list. I assume closer to launch it will sync up with psn but will my trophies show as well? Or be lost in limbo?

Btw I think the OT should have the line i said earlier since it's quite coincidental that one of thr first gaffers to get it was myself...while being oblivious to the soules series.

I got the game tonight.
It's something else so far. The shimmering from the IGN clips is pretty much absent. The graphics are phenomenal, and I'm a primarily PC gamer, too.
So far the game is incredible.
Dark Souls is my favorite game of all time, and so far this tops it in every way.

Actually I expect you to take notes. I have a feeling that a few of us are going to stay up for at least 24 hours straight playing the hell out of this game. We need to know everything there is to know... to help our fellow GAF members when we go to invade, I mean join their games and "Aid" them.
 
It's gonna be so painful not only staying away from Bloodborne threads while waiting for the EU release, but also not being able to play it for a week after it comes out 'cause I'm going on holiday :C
 
Posted this in launch trailer thread but thought it was better to be read here:

I'm a PC gamer who's thinking about getting PS4 soley for this game (right now). But ... but.. I hate frame rate drops, especially noticeable on so called "locked" 30 fps console games.




How's fps in bloodborne, I'd appreciate input from another pc gamer (someone who upgraded their pc in the last 1-2 years)

Impressions from Matt Maguire, editor of Gameplanet (I've never heard of 'em):

"There's no doubt in my mind that Bloodborne will be the first truly great PlayStation 4 exclusive. The question is whether it will be Dark Souls II great or Dark Souls/Demon's Souls really great. We'll know that, as well as the exact level of punishment we are in for, when the game finally releases next week."

I would completely say hyperbole. But I had to take pause and think of any PS4 exclusives up to now that are riveting...

Wow, I don't know of any. That is actually kinda sad.

Identically to Dark Souls (1), I'll be playing this game until I feel satisfactory enough to go to bed. I'm expecting myself to be awake for at least 60 hours before turning in :3

Resogun I will give you. I love the hell out of that game, but it is also a vita game.

Driveclub so much potential and was riddled with fail at first. I have yet to actually go back and see what the updates have done for it.

People tend to forget how lackluster the first year, sometimes even first few years of a consoles lifecycle are.

Honestly, I've been impressed with the PS4 and XBO output thus far in just a year.

I have a feeling a small group of us will either have to do Party Chat or work out something were drinking and playing this game is involved within the home stretch of us passing out.

After seeing your intense love affair of the first 2 days of Diablo 3, I want to be a part of stupid shenanigans that involve a few of us, alcohol and voice chat.

Eh, I consider the PS3 and vita versions at 30 fps ( which came out way after the PS4) version to be pretty different. I guess Driveclub is a manner of personal opinion, since I did'nt find it to be fail ( minus the online) before the updates. The updates, however are amazing.

Either way, I do agree that for most people Bloodborne might indeed by the first big worthwhile exclusive for either next gen system honestly. Just wanted to point out that there have been interesting gems that may also have not exactly appealed to everyone.
 
This is unclear to me. Will the chalice dungeons have exclusive bosses or are there only bosses from the main game ? (I take the latter is the right one, with one or two bosses only available in chalice dungeons and not in the main game)

Eh, not necessarily. I suppose if you've never played any action games such as Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, MGR:R and even God of War on top of the Souls games this might be true. But how many here have played one or more of the Souls games and none of the above listed franchises?

Your skills will carry over.
