ARROW Season 3 |OT| Welcome to the New Age

There are still like 8 episodes left in the season, how is it too late? That's almost half a season.

Because 8 episodes is not going to make me go "Oh look, the mediocrity was so worth it." It's less than half, and there's no way it can make up for this season. Quite frankly, I don't think this season has been terrible or anything, but I'm completely whelmed by it. Whelmed. That's the adjective I'm using.

That's assuming these 8 episodes are all solid. Fuck, the trailer was a sizzle reel. Not like every episode will be as awesome as that wee trailer.

Yeah. I like this season a lot. So those eps will probably only elevate my opinion of it. But I doubt they will be able to completely turn around the impression of S3 for somebody who hated the last 15 eps. At most they will soften the hate

I love the fact that people here bitched about the first seven episodes of Arrow S3, geeked out over the last two, and now have conveniently forgotten that because 'LOL, SHOW SUCKS.' Like how many times are we going to do this dance? They're setting things up to pay off, the same way S1 did. And S2 did. Because despite popular consensus, S2 didn't exactly come roaring back after their winter hiatus, and I distinctly recall people complaining about the BOP/Suicide Squad episodes, before they retconned their complaints away because 'OMG SLADE.'

And don't even get me started on Slade's non-existent motivations. Manu saved that role, the writing sure as shit wasn't inspiring.

I don't think this season is terrible, nor did I think S2 was the top-tier television some make it out to be. I've enjoyed parts of this season just fine, but it's been so shaky and so weak for me. Even if the next 8 episodes are awesome and amazing and fantastic and what-have-you, that will not change how I felt about this season.

It feels like this season has sort of been stumbling along, and even though it seems to have finally nailed a focus for these next 8 episodes, it doesn't change how I feel about this season overall. Now, will I enjoy these next 8 episodes? Oh most certainly. I enjoy this show quite a bit, but my feelings are what they are.

All caught up.

I may not be hating this season, but the latest batch of episodes are S1 levels of uneven, if not bad.

It looks like it's up for The Flash to save DC-TV.

So based on the asian promo for this weeks episode
This is when Chesthair tells Oliver to fuck off cause he lied to him about Sara

Yeah, we were complaining about season two near the end not living up to the hype/build-up it created IIRC. The Suicide Squad episode was particularly bad especially with the writers either not knowing or caring about how drones work and the weak VFX that came with it.

Well...it looks like Ra's method of completely stipping away Arrow indentity from Olie is to
send dozens of fake murderous Arrows into the city? :D
You're so awesome old man.

Suicide Squad rides again. Deadshot, you glorious swarmy asshole.

Next few eps look epic

Hmm, so
Shado's return
happens in the flashback?

And don't even get me started on Slade's non-existent motivations. Manu saved that role, the writing sure as shit wasn't inspiring.

heh, pretty much. Despite all the "OMG SLADE SWAG" worship posts, at the end of the day, the guy's whole vendetta -- the reason for laying siege to a city, killing dozens, and holding onto 5 years of pure hate -- is all because he was friendzoned.

So that confirms that Chesthair
does seem to find out about Oliver and even seems to arrest him...

Also looks like Shado is definitely back and is acting weird. Guess there really is a lazarus pit or something to that effect? Maybe a new drug similar to that from season 2 but it changes people psychologically?

He
better not be surprised, like at all... If there's even a hint of it I'm gonna lose my shit. They've already done the commissioner Gordon of "choosing not to know" route but come on don't be the worst detective ever.

This is so goddamn intense. Speculation:
Could the Mirakaru be descended from Lazarus Pits? Maybe someone injected into Shado after death?

Then again, maybe it's a hallucination or dream sequence.

So decoy Arrows to frame and flush out the real ones. R'as is fucking intense. He even turned Quentin against him! His identity is pretty much blown at the end, he's so fucked.

Also, Ray's powers look like shitty CGI Force lightning, it's hilarious.

All I want from the
Arrow vs. Atom fight is an incredibly satisfying beatdown from Arrow as he just disassembles the fuck out of Ray's new toy.

So now some spoilery pics actually make a lot of sense:

Ollie gets busted and goes to jail. Roy decides to take one for the team and puts Arrow costume on and gets caught by police which proves Ollies not Arrow. Detective Lance knows the truth but doesn't have proof of it and Ollie gets free while we say baibai to Roy because he goes to prison for killing a lot of peeps (that fake arrow killed) ;(

Well that's just garbage.
Roy must have his time!

and then he gets transferred to Supermax, where he becomes trained by Slade!

Colton getting all the action. It's not fair.

"Actor Colton Haynes, most famously known for playing Roy Harper on the television show Arrow, based on DC Comics' Green Arrow character, was found screaming in an alleyway with his ear removed with, what appears to be, teeth. Police are still searching for the culprit."

I'm off today but despite liking this show more, I'm going to be on Empire-Gaf watching the 2 hour season finale. So I won't be watching this episode until after that goes off.

Even flash can't pile as many events into their episodes as empire, wise choice. The fuckery around cookie is too strong
