Anyone else find it hilarious that Iris' reporter buddy called her out on the weird brother/friend dynamic?

That was pretty funny. What's even more hilarious/sad is how after all this tension and angst their first kiss falls completely flat. It was like the kiss between Marty and his mom in Back to the Future. They have 0 chemistry. It's actually like watching Prison Break again with the nurse and main guy.

caesar? lol no. gannicus da gawd needs to jump into the CW-verse. batiatus would be a great season villain too...maybe as Grodd.
I said Caesar because I'm watching War of the Damned now. But yes, Gannicus needs to be there. Glaber, too, since he nails that villain look.

EDIT: Holy shit, I forgot Oenomaus! Yeah, to hell with all the rest. They need him.

Just imagine if Joker were a villain in every Batman film. As awesome as he is, it would get boring and make him feel less special. Besides, it is always cooler when the big bad comes back in a big way after being gone for a long time.
Yeah! Can you imagine if Joker was the villain of every Ark...ham... gam-- =(

Exactly!

It's bizarre... did they do a chemistry test or something?

Like, honestly? They barely have a decent brother/sister chemistry going on, let alone anything romantic or with passion. There's no spark there.

I remember when I first saw Cisco on Arrow and thinking I was going to hate him. I fucking love the dude. What a great show!

It's a question I ask myself a fair amount with TV these days. They absolutely do group readings during the casting process to see how they play off each other. Maybe they felt like it was good enough and they'd be ready by the time it came to advance the relationship on the show. Who knows. Maybe it'll get better.

lol yeah i kinda hated cisco when he debuted in Arrow. He rocks in here though.

Yeah he definitely grew on me. The female scientist has been consistently bad though. So bad that I can't even remember her name.

I hope so, but as of now, the writing and chemistry between the two actors leaves a lot wanting.

Well... I mean, they did sort of rescue Laurel this season from her poorly written spiral, so there's hope, I guess.

Caitlyn is awesome, and is clearly the shows Felicity to Iris' Laurel, at least in terms of future Barry love interests is concerned.

They kind of have to go there now, just like Arrow did in Season 1, because they've built it up. If only to retire it for the next few years.

You shut your filthy whore mouth

Hahaha. I'm sorry man, she's pretty bad. Like worse than Thea levels. The episodes with Robbie were brutal.

Caitlyn! Thanks. I wish she had half the chops Felicity has.

I really hope they don't have Caitlin and Barry hook up. I feel like Caitlin and Barry have an actual brother/sister/friend vibe, way more than Barry/Iris.

There is just so much wrong in this statement.

Just so much.

Like a tremendous amount that hurts the soul much.

I need something to get my mind off of just how terrible that statement was.

Can you imagine sex with Barry though?

He can make his dick recreate those porn movies where the girl is fucked by a machine dildo except a hundred times faster.

Doesn't matter if he's a quick shot, he'd come right on time!

Barry and Iris 4ever. Fuck the haters.

I am the captain of this ship now.

Arrow doubled down on Laurel, for better or worse, to commit to the vision of making her the Black Canary no matter how many fans go kicking and screaming on message boards.

Flash, on the other hand, doesn't have to commit to Iris in the same way. In fact, it might really help character growth all around if something were to happen to the character to get her out of the picture.

This episode was alright. Some great stuff gets revealed but a lot of it is just through boring exposition. Iris and Barry's kiss felt really really flat and wasn't a satisfying payoff. The Weather Wizard, while very cool and well done, was rife with poor plotting. Why wouldn't Joe just keep the rod on him at all times? Hide it in the cloak he's always wearing. Joe was also acting pretty irrational for his character and taking way too many unnecessary risks. Plus, we're dealing with yet another meta-human that could easily be taken out by conventional means. He's got power but he's not any more impervious to bullet-fire. And he just waltzes into the police station? There's a manhunt for a known criminal whose target is in your headquarters for the sole purpose of his protection and there are no one screening or limiting access to the precinct? The only redeeming quality in the entire subplot was the display of Weather Wizard's powers.

The Wells developments are very exciting on paper, and Cisco's death a legit shock, but apart from being blindsided, there was just too much talking to the audience purely for the sake of exposition. Still, it was pretty crazy to watch unfold and the time travel so blatantly put out there. I know lots of people loved it but I personally felt that the episode should have been better considering the events that took place.

I can't believe I'm an outcast on Caitlyn opinion. You think she consistently gives a good performance?

Yes.

I would bet a lot on it.

Sorry.

It's the CW, so I know it'll probably come and I'll throw up in my mouth a little.

That's a lonely ship you're sailing on.

True, but Laurel's been a lot better this season than last season. Fuck, she's actually been my favorite part of this season!

Since they showed the "groundhog day" type stuff in the beginning, I kinda figured that some heavy shit would go down and none of it would matter. Still, the Dr. Wells and Cisco scene was amazing and we got more info on Dr. Wells.

I mean, I don't even know how you got brother/sister/friend. That's not the vibe I scoped from the pilot, and the recent scenes they've had together have no been subtle in how they were written.

Well, what I meant was that there was actually chemistry there. They sparked off each other really well, but it's written more as them being friends, so I see that (despite the googly eyes here and there or drunken dressing/undressing/dressing).

Plus, Ronnie's still running around.

It's like, there's a very naturalistic tone to how Caitlin and Barry interact with one another opposed to Barry and Iris just being stiff and... stiff, and nothing there at all really.

DC really loves retconning things don't they. That's a 52 inside joke which I'll expound upon tomorrow in the comic community thread.

Can someone title the new OT shit gets realer?
Boooooo at the writers pushing this Iris relationship on us. Give me the Linda relationship.
Matter of fact, next episode needs more Linda. Which blasphemer had negative things to say about Thea from Arrow? I'm not about sit here and let you besmirch her stellar at times reputation.

This episode is fustercluck when you realize
that Barry ran into himself at the start of the episode. If Caitlin stalls stalls Wells for another 10 minutes then Cisco survives. At the very least this retcon needs to leave Cisco alive, Iris' dad alive, and Barry's identity in tact. Next Tuesday has to hurry up and get here so I can watch this madness.
Todd Manning is relevant in 2015 and makes me miss One Life to Live.

Caitlyn is far superior. She is a damn inspiration never once did she give up on Ronnie and runaway into the arms of an ex-Superman! No, she stayed behind in her heels like the doctor she is and helped save Central City!

The way Ollie has been acting, I don't blame Felicity in the slightest for bedding Ex-Superman.

.

Well..it worked though. Laurel can still be annoying, but she's leagues ahead of what we got in S1-2. Actually, all the problematic characters were fixed.
If there's one thing I like Flash to get inspired by Arrow is that if something doesn't work romantically you should drop it. Arrow did eventually and switched to Felicity as main love interest. This season it's not always working, but it's still improvement over Laurel. And most of all, the idea alone that canon pairing doesn't have to happen is one that should be drilled into Flash's folks brains.

THIS IS TOO GOOD.

Holy shit at everything. Although i have to say rewinding time and erasing what happens is a kick in the nuts, but at least Cisco won´t be dead. I know time travel and the Flash go hand in hand, but still.

Preview
Oh yeah repercussions to messing with time make time travel tolerable.

Nah, it should be "It's not the season finale, just Tuesday"

Hahaha, I like this.

This episode really threw me for a loop, it never even occurred to me that
Dr wells was just Eobard Thawne using a codename and Eddie Thawne was just an ancestor of his, making his name a neat red herring.
I mean, I had theories, but they didn't even touch that idea. Really excited to see what changes next week.

Amazing episode. I knew the time travel stuff had to happen pretty soon when all these ominous events kept piling up. *Obvious Spoiler*
And we already knew Cisco wasn't gonna stay dead.

Also, hurray for character development for Captain Singh! :D

Wouldn't it be something if Cisco died again in the new timeline. I mean, we know he won't, but man that would fuck with everyone.
Wouldn't it be something if from now til the finale Barry tries to save the day but only succeeds in making things worse. Then after a series of unfortunate events he has to choose someone to die. Because its the only way to break the cycle.

Great episode.

First 30 minutes were good, but last 10 minutes were epic
[minus the Barry-Iris kiss, that was bullshit, and will probably get erased]. Tidal wave and police station attack scenes had great visual effects, Wells' revelation was handled extremely good, and time travel at the end was unexpected.

Liam as WW was very flat, but like 95% of other Flash-villains, he did not get enough time for development. At least we will get more of him in future episodes.
