Ah shit that ending

So if someone stepped in between Wells and the afterimage, would they be vaporized by the friction?

Lightning scene of course

Yes and no. It's comic book science. Anything is possible.

That moment was just amazing, I interpreted it just the way they intended. As soon as Wells walks in you can see Cisco is like "shit, I'm gonna die." And then their is that feeble attempt at the end where he tries to find some way for Wells to spare him and he's just like "nah." I also like how Wells is basically like "you were dead before I was even born." It really puts some perspective on things and is a moral question I always wondered if time travel were possible. Let's say you are transported back to the Middle Ages, and let's take away any paradoxes, would you feel guilty if you had to kill some people to get back home? By your perspective these people have been dead for thousands of years, does it really matter if you kill them?

Shit is so fucked, I love it.

Yes it still matters. You took away the rest of the life they could have lived and took them away from the people they would have lived with.

That was a ridiculously awesome episode. The Reverse Flash reveal, the Cisco moment, the Flash reveal to Iris and then the end? Hot damn, I got all sorts of emotional during that last 5 minutes. Highs, lows, then holy crap at the end.

Joe has a free arm... Why is the tape still on him!

It's TV man, gotta let some things slide. For example, when Barry and Joe were in the car when it started raining, it was day time....then it panned to the outside of the car and it was dark, then it went back to the side of the car and it was day time again. XD

I can understand why some people would rate it low , having a good amount of drama and then doing a reset takes away from it .
Still it was a fun ep , i just hope next week they don't reset iris not knowing since it best to get that stuff out the way .

Probably the best single episode of any comic book TV show to date. Truly impressive, can't believe it wasn't a season finale

Liam McIntyre will get lost in the hysteria, but he did a damn good job as WW

Did no one notice a wheel chair became either miraculously empty or a guy in a wheel chair got up and walked away?

Flash now runs at like 47,000 miles per second? Dayum. You'd think he'd just use that power to punch that guy out.

Why are the cops so incompetent? Bad guy every one is after who's targeting a cop walks right into the police station and no one recognizes him. It's been like a year, he hasn't changed at all physically.

Morgue has an alley way entrance to the examination room?

He can summon a tsunami so why doesn't the dude just lightning strike the dude from a window?

I will say this... barring any huge misstep

Probably one of the strongest rookie seasons for a TV show I can remember in at least a decade

I still am in shock at the pace this show moves at. We had as many reveals tonight as a normal show has in a whole season, and that was just this episode.

Yeah, but that was the point. They gave us all the reveals we could want in one episode because they knew they were going to undo all of it at the end. Pretty big "psyche!".

Still, great episode.

The other constants should be the article about Wells and Iris questioning Barry, right? That wasn't connected to anything that might have changed due to Barry going back in time. Those could start planting seeds of doubt in Barry's mind

I imagine that Reverse Flash could just kill that editor but that might be suspicious if the guy who's investigating Wells suddenly disappears. Then again Wells had no issue with abducting a general straight from his base

Barry time traveled back to after the coroner died so the constants should be:

  • That article is still being planned
  • Weather Wizard still killed the coroner and found out Joe killed his brother
  • The Bowling alley scene still happened, which means Eddie is still mad at Iris due to her flirting with Barry (And Linda is likely as well)

The last ten minutes of this episode made it physically difficult to sit through SHIELD tonight. SHIELD can be good when the pacing is fine, but Flash is just running circles around it at this point.

No one else noticed the Quantum Leap reference at the end of the episode?

Not counting the time travel, we've seen Wells move faster than anything previously on the show, no? It didn't seem like he just straight up stabbed Cisco with his hand, it was more like he was moving so fast his hand phased through him.

This scene was so cool. I gasped out loud when he hand vibrated Cisco to death. I love Cisco and his long flowing dark hair. He was the glue that kept Team Flash together.

Damn good episode. Weather Wizard was eh, but that's ok, his tsunami made up for that. And poor Captain :(

Wells is so damn evil. I love it, but hate it!

I was honestly slightly disappointed, only because so much shit went down in those last ten minutes or so and now all of it is basically retconned grrrrr! But I'm fine with it honestly. I'm enjoying this show so much more than Arrow (which I began watching on Netflix, made it to the second season but haven't watched the rest yet). This show and Agents of Shield man, it's a good time to be a fan of comic based superhero shows.

Even though a lot of shit went down and there were a lot of reveals, there's enough after-effects from the reveal that the "retcon" isn't as egregious as an "it was all a dream" episode.

For the audience - we now know for sure that Wells is a villain. While he's been Barry's nemesis for sure, we weren't entirely sure of his motivation or whether he was actually attached to Barry/the STAR Labs crew. But he's willing to straight up murder Cisco, somebody he considers his son, therefore he's not on any sort of noble pursuit. (Conversely, this makes me upset because I can't see how they're going to make Tom Cavanagh a regular after this season ends unless they use time travel to alter things and make him a good guy in season 2. But damn he's killing it.)

For Barry - he knows Iris feels the same way about him now. Even though the kiss/reveal didn't happen, he knows his love for Iris isn't unrequited anymore. That being said, it's the CW so my prediction for the romance angle is Barry's going to get brave, dump Linda and confess to Iris thinking that since he knows how it's going to go down, she'll say yes and be really into him. Instead it'll blow up in his face and she'll get angry or deny it or something for more conflict.

God this show is amazing. And to think at the beginning of the season I thought to myself "eh, I kinda like the Arrow, I'll give Flash a whirl even though I'm not a huge fan and don't know anything about his universe." Holy shit, was watching this the best decision I've made about TV in a long time.

FUCK. YES! Cavanagh is obviously having a blast in this role, and I am loving it. When he did the name drop I was squealing like a little girl. So awesome.

And fuck, what an episode. The first 30 minutes were decent and rather run of the mill, but damn did those final ten minutes deliver the best ten minutes of the season. That stretch is what will elevate this episode in the long run.

And love the Quantum Leap reference at the end of it.

Just look at the evil smirk

Making some gifs. Let me know if you want a particular scene.

InfantileWellgroomedAsiaticwildass.gif

Cisco mind-blown.gif would get a mileage here on gaf!

Definitely a lot of WTF moments that happened all at once this ep. Barry and Iris going all in their relationship, Cisco also all in investigating on Wells, Joe being desperate to catch weatherman rather than relying on Barry, Wells deciding to end his facade this early on.

Also Barry going so fast he now can time travel? Nice way to retcon the entire ep!
