BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

So uh, what are the rules for the OT going up, it has to be one day prior to release, right? It's going to be my new home
dont tell destiny gaf

Ever been awake for so long that you couldn't focus, hands started trembling and your eyes just kept falling shut?

Way more than that. Back then I did 72 hours marathons and fell asleep with open eyes.

I will do a 48 hours stream for Bloodborne which will be a bit harder though...

Damns people. I mean I plan on playing an unhealthy amount of the game, but I'm still going to get my 8 hours of sleep so I can be sure that I'm refreshed enough to fully enjoy the game.

This is not how Miyazaki intended the game to be played. You must not sleep, so that the despair and fatigue can set into your bones, like a rot in the heart of an oak. Slowly but surely, the darkness will spread throughout your body, you will question why you are allowing this to happen to yourself, the answer on the tip of your tongue, you just don't know. But you never stop. Never fight it. You'll begin to question your very existence. Did you have a life before Bloodborne? Did you ever have loved ones? A family? Are you married or not? It doesn't matter. All that matters is the game. But is it a game? Or is real life the game and Bloodborne the reality? It doesn't matter. All that matters is the game. But is it a game? Or is real life the game and Bloodborne the reality? It doesn't matter. All that matters is the game. But is it a game? Or is real life the game and Bloodborne the reality? It doesn't matter. Guys i implore you, dont check out too much about the game before release. Try to preserve that first playthrough feel. Its sounding like we got another masterpiece on our hands and i want us all to get that feel.

i played through Dark Souls after learning about it and reading through the strategy guide.

I won't tell if you won't tell on me. :)

But i might.

Fuck this wonderful thread

Straight up!

It's crazy how much bad luck I've been getting for the launch of this fucking game.

First, that one particular life-changing problem that's been eating my insides every day for the last couple of days...

Second, remember that I said that I took two weeks off for Bloodborne? NOPE. NOT ANYMORE. Something happened and I'm basically forced to go Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

"But Yoshichan, what're you gonna do now? I mean, you can't be awake for 70+ hours!"

WRONG. What I'm going to do now is when I get the game (hopefully by Wednesday if I'm lucky, Thursday if I'm unlucky), I'll be popping that sucker in and I'll be playing non-stop until I have to leave for school. Then I'll return home, play Bloodborne for another 18 hours, then go back to school. Repeat this process until the weekends.

It's gonna be crazy. I have no fucking idea how my brain is going to function when I'm at school without sleep for over 50+ hours, let alone how I'll manage to play Bloodborne without sleep :lol

Umbasa.

UMBASA, I SAY.
School? Are you a teacher or something, Yoshi?

It would be funny to see a sleepless teacher trying to teach lmao

Starting to waver off getting the collectors edition and just going digital. However I'm in a position where even if it releases smoothly on midnight, I won't have much time to play. Plus I really want my physical copy alongside my original Asian DeSo import, Near mint Black Phantom edition, and my DaSo collector's edition. Plus I'm running out of disk space!

Eh what the hell, I really want that soundtrack.

It's kind of weird playing a 'souls game' without having extended faqs and wikis to check.

I guess I was supposed to learn to use the gun in the first boss fight? Haven't used it much yet...

Question to the fellow hunters. Are you planning to go solo or summon other hunters ? I think I'll go solo but if I die too many times in one particular area, then I might seek some help.

Holy shit checked the bloodborne wiki about the box:

"A small music box received from a young Yharnam girl.
Plays a song shared by her mother and father.

Inside the lid is a small scrap of paper, perhaps an old message. Two names can be made out, however faintly, Viola and Gascoigne." It's his daughter's music box.

Holy shit. That is awesome.

Hi everyone,

I just want to know: when will we be able to pre-download the game?

Cause you know ... on the day of release I prefer to be playing, not downloading.

Thanks in advance o/

I got some good news for you and some bad. The good news is you'll be able to preload the game starting sometime this Sunday. The bad news is you'll be downloading a 3GB patch before you start playing the game.

I'm hoping they will bundle that patch in with the initial download and install of the game once Pre-load goes live.

The patch will download with the preload, just like every other pre-load has done.

I have decided to go with this Jun Yoshino quote to build up my hype to where it needs to be.

Regarding game design, how free will the player be to explore different areas in the game? Can we go straight to a bigger challenge or will the game push us to one direction at a time?

"It’s quite interesting. It’s like a hybrid of Demon and Dark Souls. FromSoftware decided to mix those two together. I think it works out really nicely. You still have this kind of refuge, this central area you can always retreat back to. But the game world itself is more like Dark Souls, because in Bloodborne it’s all linked together as well. Once you venture out, you can effectively go anywhere you want."

That quote makes me giggle like a schoolboy

Skimming this thread, and yet still managing to avoid most of the spoilers.

I am liking the general impression that people seem to be 'game is still dope, worth the hype'.

Also liking the 'Demon's Souls meets Dark Souls' comments - although that is how I felt about Dark Souls 2 - but I don't think it was as successful as it could have been. That said, I've probably played DAS2 more than any of the other souls games.

Really curious to how active the PvP will be, if it will be possible to organize fight clubs, etc.

In Demon's Souls - PvP terrified me, and I'd often be in Soul form all of the time intentionally just to avoid getting invaded.

Dark Souls - was still a little skittish about PvP, wasn't until the DLC that I started to play around with it more and got a little more into it.

Dark Souls 2 - Fully embraced the PvP - and is what kept me playing long after beating the game a few times

It's Ok, 3Go are not a big deal.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Oh, any info about the size of the game?
