Bloodborne Press Preview Impressions (16/03/2015)

Why is everyone talking in the spoiler thread? Stay strong guys!

They want to min-max from the very beginning so they can gank straightway. Pound the wiki for exploits, before all the noobs are scared off for good.

There's really no other thread for Bloodborne discussion. The launch trailer thread was the spoiler free hub for awhile but now it's dead. I bailed out of the spoiler thread a few days ago and haven't had anywhere to vent my hype. I don't know if a spoiler free discussion thread would be allowed, because that would defeat the purpose of the new OT rules.

Just tried to pre-order the game at Best Buy online since I have that Gamers Club membership. Tried the store pickup and my order wouldn't go through because of "high demand" and that its sold out. WTF!!!! They don't do delivery day shipping so I may just pay a visit to the store tuesday morning anyways.

I have a question for GAF: I preordered from GameStop the regular edition for in store pickup. And I pre-ordered the $80 version from Amazon for next day Amazon Locker delivery that I can pick up sometime on Wed.

Which version should I stick with?

The $20 doesn't matter to me at all. And I'm not sure that I'm going to care about the extra junk in the $80 edition either.

Why would you buy an edition with extra junk if you don't care for it?

It's not a hype thread until the avatars start changing into a bloodborne theme and a hype train emerges with all the avatars of the hype victims. Too bad we don't have it yet.

Some Gamestops are having Monday evening pickups if that makes any difference.

The Twitter account for Game Informer's big Souls fan (Dan Tack) has been filled with nothing but Bloodborne stuff for the past week or so. I'm pretty sure he's reviewing it for them. He seems quite happy if what he's posting is anything to go by.

I have a big Amazon credit and it might be fun to look through the art book once or twice. I bought the Destiny art book for the same reason even though I don't really care about it.

How do I find out if mine is doing it? Is that midnight or like 6pm Monday? The employees at my gamestop usually don't know anything.

So as someone with minimal exposure to the series, what class should I pick? I don't care if it's harder to play as any specific class, but I would rather play as the one with the most long term potential.

All the exposure I have is playing an hour or two of the 360 version and killing a fat boss.

I called mine and it was 10PM. Might vary by timezone.

Your starting origin (as they are called in Bloodborne) means almost nothing long-term. You craft what you are by the stats you put your levels into.

My CE is prepared but not shipped yet. Since it's the weekend I'm not sure they'll ship it until Monday D:

Best Buy please!

Yeah same here, I was told they won't ship until launch day. I didn't realize this at the time of ordering. I may try to go in a buy a copy of it on launch day and then when my copy gets here, return it. I'm not sure what else to do. I can't take this.

Anything but "Waste of Skin", which is kind of aimed at replays. Starting classes haven't met all that much throughout the games, and it matters even less here.

Someone else already had their CE ship from best buy yesterday. I'm not too worried.

Oh ok. I was actually looking at Waste of Skin because the concept of being completely useless but still winning sounds fun.

Let's be honest here, I'm sure I'll be completely useless at this game. The character should be a perfect embodiment of my abilities in the game's Universe.

Just got a copy!!!!! So excited

Sleep 2 more times and the wait is over!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY.

Just checked, Bloodborne regular edition and Bloodborne special edition are the 2 best selling amazon games atm. Ranked 4/5 below all the PSN cards.

Bloodborne now @55 best selling item of 2015 that is videogame related. The Order is 46.

And I have a strong feeling that digital sales of Bloodborne are going to be rather high considering the early start time.

Monday at work im gonna be all

Buy the regular and donate the $20.

early start time for digital owners?

Type-0 is going to be my daytime game, and Bloodborne at night....I can never play a game like Bloodborne, Alien : Isolation, Evil Within during the day cause I feel like it kills the mood.

Ha. I play games the same way. GTA5, with it being so sunny and all, during the day feels so much better. Bloodborne definitely will be played at night.

What about weather conditions? I like playing Batman when it's cold outside. I kinda hoped AK would relase in October.

Oh man saw the game in the case at my local walmart today. Why won't they sell it to me :-(
My local Walmart doesn't even have games behind glass, they're out in the open. I'm going there later, but if I see a copy I won't pick it up because I don't want any hassle at the registers lol.

Waste of Skin just starts a few levels lower, which actually gives you more freedom to freely allocate the stats coming from those levels. But, if you don't know what weapons require what stats, then you may as well choose one of the other origins.

Yup. Now you have a lot of "stealth OTs" before a games release instead of people just posting in the official OT because it's not up yet.

I don't know, that thread is scarily big. What are those guys doing to themselves!

Yeah, I don't get it. It's one thing to watch a little bit of a game if you're on the fence, but why spoil so much of a game that you know for a fact you're already getting by watching someone else play it for hours?

Watching something and experiencing it for yourself is not the same, and you can't forget what you've already seen (well technically it's possible, but I'm sure you get the point).

I can't remember the last time I was this hyped for an upcoming game.

Dark Souls 2 maybe?

Yeah, and look at how well that turned out. I promised myself I'd never allow myself to succumb to personal hype like that again. At least with Bloodborne, I have no reason to blindly double-dip. Plus, Miyazaki right?
