BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Well if your going to do it, then do it before it becomes night and they won't respond to your knocks. One streamer went back and brought in a woman who gives you blood for bringing her there. So I would go back and talk to the people in the houses before the Chapel just in case. The problem is someone said that the red guy also kills the NPC's you bring there, but we don't know if that's true or not.

What does the woman's "blood transfusion" do? Does it just give you a blood item?

I dont know what you are saying sir

About 4 hours in, this game is amazing.
The level design is very similar to Dark Souls 1, the atmosphere feels more like Demon Souls. You feel tense when you explore a new area, not just because there are very few bonfires, but also because the sound effects do a great job of letting you know that "something is coming". A bit like Tower of Latria in DeS. The early part of the game is a labyrinth. There's so many ways you can go, yet they all lead back to a central bonfire. I almost beat the first boss in one, but I've just explored since then and the game feels huge.

My only complaint are the load times (I'm playing the disc version on a PS4 with an SSD). Like others have mentioned, they should just put the tips back in during loading.

Question for people who have played more of the game:
Are there chests and hidden walls in Bloodborne? Haven't found any yet.

edit: For those worried about the difficulty. I'd say it feels just right. Not too easy, but not overly punishing. The most difficult thing for me is getting accustomed to the changed controls and the shorter lock-on range.

Rune question:

is there any reason not to use a rune right away?

Also, what are the badges used for?

what about this 'hit the enemy back quickly to regain some health' mechanic? i feel like that would strongly favor quick skill builds vs slow strikes for obv reason of having much more swings available to hit back in that allotted time? seems like it would allow quick builds a huge advantage where they wouldn't need to use health items as much

All relative. Small damage is small return on health. Large damage more return on health

We had ENB in Mendrox channel for a second (before he realized he was online on a non-smurf account and quickly logged out)

ok so you have to do it before going too far into the game. who's this red guy? Usually if he's a npc who kills other npcs you can understand that from his dialogue.

I'm not so sure anymore... He was there in the alpha and I swear I've heard people say he's there in the full game, but since I don't have the game yet I can't check for myself. Maybe he's a summon in the retail game?
I don't know, maybe he was there only in the alpha. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

The red guy is already in the chapel and is the NPC who asks you to bring people in. I mean he kinda has a suspicious laugh. But who knows if its true or not.

On the second part:

Someone said there are NPC summons, so maybe you have to summon him first?

lol, are you sure that he wasn't just a random guy using "ENB" as nickname?

there are chests, not a lot of them and usually with good items in it. as far as I know, no illusory walls.

Quick questions for anyone who already have the game: can you download Day 1 patch now or is it unavailable? and if you can download it how is the loading times? would really appreciate any answer :)

oh, that would be neat. someone should try to use the bell there and see if the npc gets summoned.

ENB just said the Bloodborne guide is delayed to put in day 1 patch info. I'm more surprised they print so close to release.
That wasn't ENB though.

edit: actually, it might've been him

assuming that the patch that came out days ago is the "day one patch" then yes, you can.
loading times are still awful.

So how does weapon durability work in this game? Do you have to worry about your weapon breaking all the time like DkS2, or is it more like DeS and Dks1?

Ok since a lot of people seems to have got their hands on the game by now any thoughts or predictions about the reviews and how will bloodborne do in compare to DeS and DS and DS2? is there a chance for 90+ or is there some visible negatives that will prevent the game from getting 90+?
