BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

So the people here who have been playing the game and reading impressions - obviously I don't want to be spoiled, but let me juts ask that is the game all good? Should I go ahead and pre-load it?

Looks amazing, but it's really challenging.

Don't buy it unless you're planning on spending a lot of time with it!

Thanks for the stream Mendrox! Sorry about the occasional bullshit that you had to deal with in chat. Hope it was worth it in the end - you entertained me and many other people today!

Good night!

I'm so damn bad at this game....

It took me almost 2 hours to make progress in an area that would normally take 5 minutes in any other games. I died..... a lot, but that's the point here. I feel like I have to unlearn everything I know about games and start playing differently.

Also I can't for the life of me figure out how to use the firearm/pistol. It would help me significantly....

Overall, game is great, very challenging and feels good. I just suck....

Keep at it, the game will "train" you. 10 game play hours from now you will come back to old areas and steamroll.

Also, I am going for Blunderbuss, I expect it to stun better.

There is no going back to those other games.

This is something I want to know. Watching streams and gameplayvideos don't really gove me a lot of confidence in regards to the difficulty of the game.

correct me if I'm wrong, but mendrox played all day and never got passed the third boss. the first boss took him numerous tries.

does anyone konw yet if the game has significant "optional" areas like the painted world?

There are several areas that no one knows what they do, such as the abyss.

There are also the day/night events that people have yet to discover.

I'm sure someone will find something.

He played today ? Yesterday was at 28 hours lol

It was really close to 30 hours. He seems to also do better against bosses than most other streamers, it seems.

Guess it's very relative how long it takes someone to finish the game, I'm sure someone will eventually speedrun it through really fast.

Lack of content is definitely not this game's issue.

6 hours in, Level 27, 3 bosses down. From really achieved what they set out to do: Change up the fighting system.
The battles feel a lot faster (I picked the Cleaver and have a decent amount of Endurance). You're less reluctant to engage groups of enemies. I used to lure them out one by one, now I rush right into the group. Instead of blocking the first hit with you're shield, you just accept taking a hit and try to regain a large chunk of your health by hitting the enemies quickly. Right now, I'd say this is Dark Souls x Lords of the Fallen x Ninja Gaiden. Purist might call it somewhat button-mashy and feel like the health-regen is to generous and I could see this being nerfed a bit with future patches.
I'm not sure yet if I prefer it over Souls' fighting system, but it feels great. Can't wait to play more tomorrow.

Played the game for a little bit. So far the graphics are underwhelming and the frame rate seems janky. The gameplay is good and addicting as the Souls game are known to be. Not really my thing but it'll continue to give it a shot.

Just got home with my copy. Could I be banned from twitch for streaming early?
I've been streaming yesterday and today. It's not a ban you just get kicked. I've been booted probably 15 times now and all i have to do is re-sign in to psn and rebroadcast, every time. Average rate of broadcast time is around 25-45 minutes.

How is the difficulty as someone who isn't into souls and bought it early anyways?
