Bloodborne Press Preview Impressions (16/03/2015)

Do we know the opinion of GAF retailers.? i wander if Amazon is more suited for niche games and may not represent the actual retail representation? We know that Amazon represent like 5% of Video game sales.. so wander how is Bloodborne doing in remaining 95% of retail scene?

Me as the clock ticks toward 11:00pm monday night

Is it release digital at 11 om EST on Monday?!

This is going to be available 9pm Monday? Now I'm tempted to cancel my steel book from Amazon. Having bloodborne always there even if I'm playing another disc sure is awesome, too.

You also missed out on every single boss in the last half of the game being beatable by "standing in place and mashing R1". Not an exaggeration. Literally standing in place and pressing R1.

Iron Flesh, yo. People have nostalgia for zones being broken or harder, but tend to gloss over it being completely and utterly broken with regards to balance.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I also think it's inevitable that certain aspects of Bloodborne will be broken and in need of patching just because of the nature of these games.

If something rubs me the wrong way I'll be there on day 1 complaining!

400k would put it on the same ballpark as inFamous Second Son.

Yeah, yeah, I know, higher install base, blahblahblah, but that's still a pretty high figure for a new IP.

Like with everything else ('cept Alien Isolation) I'm gettin' the physical Blu ray copy of Bloodborne and don't care if I have to wait a few extra hours to get it.

I guess this is ok to ask here. I generally suck at games, for example, in The Order once arrived at chapter 9 I had to switch to easy mode. Should I stay clear from Bloodborne?

the order 1886 is a third person shooter, this is a third person action rpg, can't compare that really^^

But no Souls game is as hard as the media tells you, once you understand the mechanics it's still challenging, but never unfair or too hard.

If you stick with it, it'll teach you to like challenging games again. That's what the previous DS's did to other people.

Get it, you know you wanna.

My buddies got copies early, because one of the local mom and pop shops here in Los Angeles tend to sell games pre-release date.

I was tempted to jump in and have them pick up a copy for me, but I can wait until Tuesday. Besides, I pre-ordered the CE, and don't plan on buying two copies of the game. I spent the entire week trying to beat Dark Souls, but I'm apparently not even close. So far, I've only beaten Demon's Souls. Never played Dark Souls 2.

A friend of mine got Bloodborne since a few days now, he said it is a fantastic game but
marred by very long loading times when you die.
He recommends waiting for a patch. But I guess everyone knew this by now :P

What I meant is that The Order is notoriously easy, and I still manage to suck at it =)

I finished all Souls game and I swithed to easy on Order. Dying in Order was iritating, in Souls game it was a learning experience. Anyway you can always level up more to make things easier.

If this man can do it anyone can!

Seriously, once you get the controls down and a couple strategies, the game turns from a punishing ARPG into the cakewalks we know and love....just be prepared to die upfront a bit until; you learn the ropes...its the same for everyone irrespective of skill. Plus if you really cant do well solo and get stuck on a certain boss there is always enogh summons around to help you out. It may take some longer than others, but I am a 43 year old gamer and can do just fine, and JEff Green has beat both DS1 and 2 and that means you can also.

Yeah been hearing about that and it's one of the few pet peeves thar really sour the experience for me. I'm hyped as hell about bloodborne and have pre-ordered it but I'll try to wait for a few days to see if they manage to reduce the loading times. Kind of intense week with work too so I can wait for a few days.

People are underestimating sales.

This has Sony 1st Party marketing behind it. I've overheard people in my local game stores who have no idea what Souls is that are excited to buy it.

Victorian badass cutting up wolves and monsters with guns and swords is enough of a sale for some. Not to mention the sales from the many posters on GAF like "Never played a Souls game but GAF has got me hyped up to buy this."

The aftershock of the general public then having a hardcore game on their hands is another matter.

This will every interesting to witness. Hopefully there wont be a massive backlash that will impact the game negatively.

Wonder how much a faster HD will help. Might be time to drop some cash on a SSD.

Obviously I'd rather have shorter load times than longer load times, but I've never minded these in previous Souls titles. I'm more annoyed that they didn't at least do something cool with the load screens, but if that's the biggest complaint about the game, that's really good.

Dude, Amazon better not fail me and give me the game the fucking 25th or ill be friggin angry... (it's the first time I preordered with them because it was the cheaper option).

Another reason why digital is better, at least you know you're getting it on time

Interesting about shields being less important and two hand quick combat being the mainstay in this. I remember fighting Old King Allant in Demons Souls without a shield just to see whether I could do it. Was loads of fun and changed the dynamics completely

I was so excited about this game a few months ago. Now that it is about to launch I'm not even thinking about it. I'm just reminded about it when I browse GAF and see the countless threads about it.

I'm probably buying it later, unless the impressions on GAF are really positive and manage to hype me up... I'm not really in the mood for Souls style gameplay for some reason. :(

I can understand this. I remember after finishing Demons Souls feeling drained. These games take a lot of effort

I guess Dark Souls II is to blame to a certain point.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as I anticipated. I never finished my NG+...
