BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

goddamn, I get this too.

us account: 1 day 7 hours

eu account: 2 days 2 hours

am I really to play it when it comes out in the us with my eu account?

Yes.

Just unlock it from your US account and it will be unlocked on your EU account as well. No worries.

Sorry Mendrox, too much spoilers in your stream now... I've done my best but I'm retiring :( Thank you for the stream man, it was AWESOME!

????????????????????????

Watching the streams, they don't seem that long at all. Maybe that's just me, but I expected way, way worse.

i feel like if you saw them AFTER reading about them, the primary reaction would be "i mean its not great but its certainly not a dealbreaker". at least that was my reaction when i did see one.

Yeah, maybe it's because I was grinding . They don't bother me when I'm progressing through the game. Kinda wish they did the demons souls loading screen.

Anybody else getting annoyed by the load times.

I've watched a lot of streams and they don't bother me too much. It would be nice if they improve them but I don't find them annoyingly long.

Edit: But yes they really should put artwork or something instead of just "Bloodborne"

People keep mentioning that the game has many diverse environments. Without spoiling, could someone give a # (just the number) of different environments they've seen? (
E.g. city streets, cathedral, etc.)

The
machine gun
NPC in Old Yharnam
doesn't fire on you and doesn't attack you. You get a badge and some equipment unlocks in the store.
really nice, I'd also like to know where that set is.

Have no idea on the second part, as I let her die in the oeden encounter b/c I wanted her weapon and set as early as possible :p (weapon alone cost 40,000)

I'm assuming some event has to occur or obtain a certain item and then manually go to the grand cathedral (not teleport) and then the hunter encounter will begin.

The reason I say this is because
the oeden encounter will occur once you purchase the key from the messengers, and then head to the tomb of oeden on feet.
so you can just kill her to get the weapon and her set. you don't have any benefits from actually finishing her quest?

From what i saw on stream
when you talk to her and she tells you where she is going, you then go there and engage the target and she just shows up
At least that's how it went with the one where father gasciogne was.
I see, I'll try that.

I've only seen up to the first 3 bosses, and one random boss towards the end. I've also seen two Chalice Dungeons. So only like 6-8 hours.

Not counting the Chalice, I can count at least 5-6 environments, just from that. More if you count the dungeons.

My speculation is that beast mode is going to be some pop thing. You help people out in coop, you lose some beast. You invade and kill, you become more beastly until eventually out and out transforming. No idea if that's what it is, but it would be cool

Perfect, I expected less than that for the whole game, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

God, this game. I have it since friday and killed about 7 Bosses. Just when you think you understand the concept this game mindfucks you after rape-killing you horribly.
Love it

Hello, forum denizens. This is my first post here, but ive been lurking since forever.

I just wanna say that your hype for this game is absolutely contagious. I myself already have it preordered since yesterday.

Im expecting this game to do a little better sales wise than Dark Souls, if only because of its media push by Sony. I think that Dark Souls "prepare to die" approach was a bit obnoxious and defeated the purpose of generating appeal for the game. Bloodborne, instead, is being advertised as a "cool" game, so to speak.

I am totally stuck about 7 hours in:

I have killed the witch in the cathedral, the witch in the outskirts that gives you the rune workshop. If I go up the elevator in the cathedral, the tower with the snipers on it has a locked door at the top that I don't have a key for. In the prison, I encountered the lightning boss, but it was super powerful and I assume I'm not supposed to fight it yet. I seem to remember there being a door when I tried to open it someone asked for the password? I can't find that again. It's also night time now, because I used the skull after the first witch boss. Any help?

Also, is passing Chalice dungeons required to advance the story? I did the first level of the first dungeon and killed the boss, but I only got some weapon gems from him

OH MY GOD, it just sunk in after the preload started. I'm gonna be playing this tomorrow. :)

I HAVE THE ICON ON MY DASH. IT'S COMING.

I'm stuck same spot, but killed that one bliss you mentioned.

does anyone know the exact locations of the Beckoning Bell and Sinister Resonant Bell? I know that the Beckoning Bell is in the first area of the game but that's about it.

One thing I really want to know (I can't play until launch day),

How many different types of environments have players (or stream-viewers) encountered thus far. Every demo of the game has showed off the Victorian era/gothic city. The Beast Souls leak showed forest(ish) more lush environments. Without major story/encounter spoilers could someone describe the different environments (e.g. Forest, Caves, Snowy reigions, Sunny Areas, whether there's rivers/waterfalls/lava in them, etc.) I'm just really after a bullet point breakdown of variety.

Oh, and how significant each environment is in the greater length of the game (if possible), cheers!

if you beat the dark paarl electric boss then after that you need to go to catherdral ward and go to the circle gate in the middle with the 2 giant enemies patrolling. And find a npc there you talk to to continue

The password door is in the cathedral courtyard where the 2 huges dudes were patrolling (but since it's nighttime they're just chilling out now).

You buy them from the messengers on the ledge next to the modification table. You need 10 insight in order for them to show up though.
Edit: not Beckoning Bell

In the Cathedral area go to the huge plaza where two of the giants with the Axes are roaming around. There is an exit 90 degrees from the large staircase which leads to the Grand Cathedral, follw the way and you'll get to that door.

Supposedly if you're wearing the full set it makes the guy on the gatling gun friendly to you and you don't have to fight him. It might not work if you already went up there beforehand though, not sure.
Shit that's why it didn't work for me then since I already went there. :/

Yeah. That might be it.

Reading that one thread made it sound like it was some appalling minute+ wait every time.
It really isn't. It's a regular loading time. Many of them being around 20 seconds or so, repeatedly dying on the chalice dungeon.

So....
So I'm supposed to go to the Cathedral I think but I have no idea how. I finished 4 bosses and got the chalice last. I think I am in the right direction but not sure. Where is this witch? I don't think I've found her yet.

I see, I'll try that.

Have no idea about the benefits of finishing her quest, but you don't have to kill her. Just
don't help her in the fight against the hunter, and she'll die. You'll have to fight the hunter still though. So technically you didn't kill her :P

where's that elevator in the cathedral you are talking about? Thought I explored the place thoroughly

you can't do any co-op until you get 10 insight then? Sounds strange, are you sure that it's not just the Sinister Bell that is being sold at that shop.

:( I'm going to help her.

Where does one get

weapon she gives?

Man that Santuary Gaurdian is a real bitch.

I need a fix to tide me over until tomorrow :(

Civ 5, Skyrim modding and Dark Souls NG+ have kept me busy!

Is there any backstab or plunge equivalent? I recently beat Dark Souls for the first time (hence me now playing NG+) and it influenced me to go pre order Bloodborne. I'm just curious if any of those mechanics carry over.
