Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition trailer

Wait, is Nero the main character in DMC4?

I've only played the first and third, and always thought it was Dante you played as in the fourth.

Definately getting this though. For some reason I cant remember I didn't get it on PS3, so this is one of the few remasters I'm looking forward to.

Is the DMC trilogy HD worth getting?

Yeah, this is like, diametrically opposed to modern Capcom.
I wonder if these enhancements were planned/designed ages ago but they never ended up implementing them in a re-release until now.

You play as Nero for part, and Dante for the other part

Yes, Nero is the main character. Dante is only playable towards the end.

And.... I imagine you need to unlock the higher difficulty levels again, huh?

Well, maybe the PC version will be modded to unlock all that from the get-go!

EDIT: Wait...digital only (going by the Capcom Unity post). Ugh, I knew there'd be something. Doesn't negate how awesome everything else looks but....come on.

Right. Everyone needs to get on Capcom's case about that being the boxart for a PHYSICAL release. None of this digital-only bollocks. Capcom got this far giving the fans what they want, let's see them go the full length.

Good to hear, I'll probably buy it and play through them before DMC4, since I've completely forgotten the story and characters in those games.

Why can't you be happy that you're getting this at all?
 
Legendary Dark Knight Mode and Turbo mode already in the PC version
the rest is just a re skin ( i hope its not just a re skin just like what they did in DMC-3 SE )
 
I'm usually not one for remasters, but everyone better buy this in support of DMC5. I don't care if you've never played DMC just do it goddammit.

You play as Nero for the first half, and then Dante for the second. And DMC HD trilogy was good. If you really love the series I'd recommend getting it for your collection because of DMC3 alone. Still one of the best action games ever made :)
 
It's blowing my mind that we got the best case scenario here. Capcom could've added Vergil, have play exactly like he does in DMC3, given him Bloody Palace and maybe add a boss fight against him and called it a day.

But instead, we get a reworked Vergil implementing stuff from DmC (He's done really well there, IMO), Trish (I don't have to play DMC2 for a Trish fix now!) and Lady (Holy shit WHAT), LDK and it's releasing at what would be the perfect time to announce a new DMC game? Holy goddamn man, when it comes to re-releases, not many do it as well as Devil May Cry.

EDIT: Digital only? *sigh*

To add, other than making a really deep combat system even better by adding more characters to play as, it also hints more than anything towards the development of DMC5.

I'm over the moon but there is no reason for this to be a digital-only release and I'll say so. I'm one of those old farts who still grasps on to the physical age.

pls get motivated for physical-only

There's three new characters, that's pretty significant considering how differently Dante and Nero play.

Can't wait for the PC version. Seems Capcom is doing it right for DMC4's re-release with the only exception of not upgrading the PC version it seems.

Trish, Lady, and Virgil already make the re-release on PC a worthwhile endeavor. While it sucks that Capcom is probably going to recharge $40-60 for this on PC, it's better than them releasing three characters on consoles and NOT bringing them to PC.
 
I agree the game def. deserves a retail release, if only for having a slick boxart cover.
Thing is PS4 games install their FULL size onto the HDD anyways so...
You know what might be a cool compensation? Dynamic DMC4 themes
