got my copy around 2 today. Still downloading the day one patch with 4 hours to go according to the progress bar. Thanks Sony.

Excited for the Bloodborne: 1886 DLC.. I think its definitely a step in the right direction for newcomers to the souls series

I'll hold out for the Bloodborne: 1986 DLC. Taking out crowds of undead dancing to thriller? it'll be hot

Apparently the 2.69GB is not the day 1 patch according to some Gaffers with contacts at FROM

that is true. the first patch I had to download was small. I'm wondering if the patch size means a lot of the graphical bugs were addressed (specifically world graphics dropping out in obvious and bad places).

Bit the bullet and preordered it before reviews came out. I'm hearing a lot of positive things from people who managed to get their hands on it early, so I figured I might as well start downloading it now.

Having found a guide that seems to outline some stuff as well as the Spoiler thread, I'm thinking I'll start off with the Threaded Cane as I think that might fit my tastes more. What would be the better firearm to go with then? The pistol for single targets or the shotgun for the spread?

And would Military Veteran be better than Professional since it offers a bit of Strength too? I'm worried I could screw myself over in terms of builds early on if I want to try out different weapons.

If I wanted to use a Kirkhammer, would I do a mix of both Strength and Skill?
No. The stat modifier for SKL is E so it grants next to zero benefits from leveling it. Just have enough SKL so you can equip it (10) and you should be fine!

Sorry if this has been answered already but whats up with the 5 gig download for pre-load? Will the game continue downloading once unlocked or did I screw something up?

That's the playgo file, it's download the rest in the background. To check, click on the title, press options and then information to see the progress.

Can someone tell me how big is the digital version. It says 27GB, is that correct?

Anyone in AUS able to download the pre load? It says auto download set to 24th which is today.

We should maintain an open spreadsheet for PSN names for neogaf IDs like we do for Helldivers, so we know who we're playing with. Who knows, we might end up with bish (or robot pants!)
If we do that, it should be quote to reveal, to stop any potential harassment.

I can't crunch shit (besides stat requirements) when it comes to firearms... anyone here have the knowledge which weapon to start of with if I'm primarily going to use for stunning the enemy?

What're the benefits of choosing the Hunter Pistol over Hunter Blunderbuss, for example?

According to that craveonline guide, Blunderbuss is the better weapon for getting stuns.

To go into detail, its short range with a wider spread, so easier to stun moving targets.

Man, Sony needs to fix this DL speed issue. Patch download 1ed GB in like 3 minutes and now it's saying 5 hours for the remaining 1.69 GB.

25 mbps here, cmon son

There really needs to be a "let me play with the crappy unpatched version, then prompt for a reset when ready" option

EDIT: Apparently, this is possible. NM...

Naw. It'll crash the moment that one inevitable 7/10 hits and then GAF will overload with the tidal wave of accusations of "doing it for clicks" in the review thread and people creating threads asking why or if we should pay attention to reviews from gaming sites anymore.

Good. Cull the idiots on GAF once and for all.

This week is already starting off great: splatoon blowout, life is strange tmmrw, dragon quest dlc, and now bloodborne.

Today was a good day :)

No idea what build I'll go for my 1st playthrough. Plan to go with a mix of STR/SKL and see how the game feels.

I'll be helping out in co-op too. Well, that and invasions. ;)

Is it known if the Chalice Dungeon allows for co-op/invasions?

Why? KirkHammer scales with Str so a Strength build would make more sense. It scales poorly with Skill AFAIK.

No. The stat modifier for SKL is E so it grants next to zero benefits from leveling it. Just have enough SKL so you can equip it (10) and you should be fine!

Thanks guys!

I just wasn't sure with the transformation if that was under the Skill category since it's much smaller than the hammer itself.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry, this is just too real. You're like the Nostradamus of GAF.

That's a good beginer guide, but I'd think the Saw Cleaver might be a better option over the threaded cane, since Lone Survivor's SKILL is not very high, and the cleaver seems the most balanced of the three starters.

Being not very good at games, and having played only DS2- id say the cleaver is by far the best choice here

I think I am going to roll with Military Veteran. It has high Strength and Skill so I can test the waters on all the weapons and then decide where to dump points from there. I'm worried if I choose one over the other I might regret it.

all information subject to change, most likely 15 times within the next 15 minutes.
