To some extent sure, I had a rough time of it my very first time with the Souls series (Demon's) and Dark Souls was kinda rough going the first few hours I played...but once you understand the gameplay mechanics you can largely bend the game to your will. Especially considering that these games are largely tactical in nature and don't really rely on reflexes.

Comparing this to something like Super Meat Boy, or even Hotline Miami difficulty wise is just ridiculous.

Hotline Miami isn't that difficult if you don't put effort into stringing combos together or if you don't care about a high score. Meat Boy is sorta similar to that, if you don't go for bandaids and fast times.

It'll end with an 89 metacritic most likely.

I figured it was because it was having to load a complicated area with an enormous boss. Most of the other load times I noted were in the 30-40sec range. That's why this one stood out.

I think it depends. I've seen some as short as 12secs. Maybe going area to ares after a death triggers the long load times.

Yes, he definitely is. I didn't realize he was streaming the game. So many good people streaming the game but I can't watch them all. Hopefully they put it in YouTube.

I doubt GI's will hit Youtube since they're streaming it for six hours. It'll probably go in their past broadcasts on Twitch.

the load times remind me a lot of Demon's Souls. those were pretty long. hopefully they can patch it for better performance if that's possible.

I hope they are like Demon's Souls, because an SSD chopped them in half. I'll be measuring my load times in Bloodborne since I have an SSD in my PS4 as well. Will post my findings in the OT after playing a bit.

This looks a lot like one of those "got super hammered, posted a bunch of stupid shit on Facebook, gonna feel real dumb the next day" sort of experiences. Lol

Sure does, but Dan is like this pretty much all of the time. Dude is always super angry and on the attack.

That said, I can understand the loading times complaint, but the rest? Its kind of ridiculous.

Can't wait. Still 2 more days before it's out here.
Hard to not just buy it digitally on US PSN lol, but I want the physical copy dammit.
Shame about the load times, hopefully it gets patched soon.

I think they should put that on the back of the box for the inevitable Prepare to Die edition:

"Intentionally shitty" - Dan Stapleton IGN

Complaining about load times is one thing. Stapleton's SSD remark is another. He can put one in his PS4, although if I recall the gains are marginal on PS4 with SSD. However, it comes off like hollier than thou, PC master race-ish.

I am a person who absolutely adored the Souls games. 2 was personal GTOY for the year it came out. I've read a bunch of reviews from guys who I feel I have a lot in common with, as far as what kind of games and the content they possess anyways. I've done my absolute best to not watch vids or read articles about the game as I have been hyped since the day it was announced. It seems we "Next Gen Gamers" finally got something worth our buck! I've personally been waiting for that game to blow me away and from the what I've been reading, this is it!! Super Pumped!!!

So the loading times are the only bad point of the game right ?

"Bad" is pretty subjective. It's weird. Coming from Dark Souls, you had a lot of options, a lot of build diversity. Bloodborne is *relatively* streamlined in this department. Less options, aggressiveness is largely favored.

It's not so much of a negative as it is a thing that will probably divide a few of the more hardcore.

All signs are telling me not to get this game, but GAF hype is too strong.

It's the same type of game as Dark/Demon Souls and most of the people hyped about it are Dark/Demon souls fans.

If you have played any of those and didn't enjoy the difficulty or punishing design the I don't see you liking this one either
