Jesus Christ....this is embarrassing but I CANNOT get past these two wolves on the bridge in the first section. I've been at it for like 4 hours, and since I can't level up yet it's getting super rough playing through this same area over and over. Can anyone help?

I tried a torch because a note said they hate fire, but that didn't seem to do anything but get me killed. Molotovs didn't do that much damage either.

There's a way to the other side of the bridge that doesn't go through those wolves. Look for a different path.

So I guess this game is the kind of difficulty expected from From? I thought I recall hearing it was going to be easier and I was kinda looking forward to it. So how hard is it exactly? I simply don't have it in me anymore for high difficulty in games, I've become a filthy casual. Really want to play it tho, the gothic Victorian shit is my jam.

Looks clean to me :lol

The pre-release insanity must be remembered perhaps.

Anyway, the true release happens in about 13 hours. I'm trying to pre-order, but Sony's payment system seems to be fucked up. I can make the order, with my correct card details, but it gets cancelled after 10 minutes.

Got
Father C
boss to the halfway life mark, the first go around... and then got my ass handed to me...

A lot harder than that
Cleric
fight.

Had to rage quit on it, it's way too late to try and beat him.

Game is sooo good.

Molotovs are your friend. You must not be hitting them square on since it should do a good chunk of damage to them. Whatever you do, do not aggro both at the same time as one will most def cheese grab you, while the other hits you right as you get let out of the grab animation. As soon as you have the attention of one pull back as far as possible.

you can cheese them to that building, and whack them from interior.

Molotovs should do a decent amount as long as you hit them directly, but I was stuck in that area for a while too and it almost made me stop playing until I changed up what I was doing. Go down the path to the left of the wolves, don't try to fight them. If you go down that way and keep exploring you'll eventually find the shortcuts to get back to the lamp and level up. Then you can either fight the wolves are just bypass them again and get to the boss. When you are exploring be careful of the rat people with the long poles though. If they catch you they do a lot of damage.

Also you people are the true monsters. Calling my character a nightmare :(

I'M STUCK GAF

Okay so this is slightly after the second boss.
I've got to the Old Yharnam lantern. I can't get past the bit with that rooftop machine gun firing at you while you fight the hunter dude, just after the small ladder in the area which also has a few crows in it. The hunter guy is tough by himself and there's nowhere I can find to hide from the machine gun fire while you fight him =(

Jumping in now. Any starter tips?

If you pick the axe learn what type of attacks it has first. But that weapon is AWESOME.

Also dont expect to do a lot of damage with the starting blunderbuss so when picking which firearm to go with just keep that in mind.

Pebbles are your friend to pull single enemies in a group when starting out.

This might help you.

I'd recommend the Saw Cleaver over the Threaded Cane, though. I've heard that, while the Threaded Cane scales better with Skill than the Saw Cleaver [if you're going after a Skill-based build], it's a lot more difficult to use in the early stages [more specifically, the first boss]. You can always purchase it later on, so you're not missing out on it completely.

It's what I intend to do anyway.

Speaking of the charge attack. What happens if I keep holding the button down even after the "glimt" or "shiny effect"? Does it deal less damage? Is it incapable of staggering?

Fuck you BITCH! The first half of the fight was going terrible but the key is you have to be aggressive. The entire fight is about 5 minutes but 75% of the damage I take off is in the last two minutes. You have to really take advantage of openings the boss gives you and go all out. Got em' on the 4th try.

First boss spoilers btw.

Sure does not seem like it with the axe. Anyone who gets hit with my attack after that gets knocked the fuck back. Some Casey Jones shit going on.

Time to stop playing, need to go and sharpen the knives to prep dinner. D: I knew I should have taken care of this shit last night...

This looks like a masterpiece but there's one thing that worries me a bit. Apparently the game has some kind of dungeons that are randomly generated. Now, if there is one thing i loved the most about Dark Souls was it's superb hand crafted areas. And if there was one thing i hated the most about Oblivion was it's generic looking, randomly generated dungeons. In fact, i don't remember ever liking any game that has randomly generated areas in it as they never look as good, detailed or interesting as the hand crafted content.

So, how important are these dungeons and how many times do i have to tackle them in the game?

The Souls games were always like that. This one is no different apparently.

That's true for the japanese version, but no Souls game had a Spanish dub until Bloodborne. That's why I thinkg its strange that they didnt do a Japanese dub too.

It's only an additional endgame content. The main game is still like Dark Souls.

(second boss for me)
Father C
was an incredible boss fight! Managed to get him on my first try, Cleric Beast gave me more trouble.

Thank you guys for all the advice, I'll give it another shot and keep an eye out for these alternate methods. This will be like the 5th time up against them lol god dammit. Luckily I'm way more into this game so far than Dark Souls, and I really dug it too.

They're an optional additional challenge not at all required to complete the main game.

Isn't it just one special dungeon?

They are optional, but do seem to be a lot of gameplay in them. I'm like you and dislike even the idea of them in souls games and wish that the world was a bit bigger with the bonus bosses and items that are in the chalice dungeons were just part of the world instead of having any generated stuff, but whatever.

Woke up and Amazon still hasn't shipped my copy. I cancelled my order and started downloading it on PSN. I can't wait to play this after work.

Been practicing my riposte. Feels good, man. :)

Now I just want to do it all the time.

Those blood bullets come in real handy too. I'll gladly sacrifice a bit of health to take down an upper tier bady that will almost assuredly drop a vial. No sweat.

Wow, first boss was really easy third try... Maybe being level 26 was a bit too high?
God damn :lol how much time did you spend farming?
