Bloodborne |OT| Now With Newcomers Guide Attached Below OP

Amazon.com...is pretty amazing.

So long story short, I have a second copy of the CE coming from Amazon.com [the first coming from EBGames.ca] due to myself pre-ordering it early on since it wasn't yet available in Canada and had forgotten to cancel after I secured one locally. It was too late in the shipping process to cancel, so they sent it out.

Anyway, I sent them an email after it shipped asking if they could somehow "re-route" the package back to them for a refund, and they just responded. They issued an advance refund for me for the total amount [including shipping] which will apparently show in my account in the next 2-3 days. They asked me to refuse delivery [which I'll try to do], but if it doesn't require a signature it will likely just be placed in my mailbox. If that fails, they asked me to send it back to them via economical mail, and that they would refund me the entire cost of that shipping too.

If I were a more sinister person, I could keep the second CE for free [since they've already issued me the refund], but I'm not that kind of person. I'll be returning it once I receive it, if I'm not presented the option to refuse delivery.

It's still surprising, though, that Amazon.com would issue a refund before receiving the returned copy of the game. I'm impressed.
 
Oh wow, didnt even realize what time it was. Those 7 hours went by crazy fast! Time for sleep...hopefully. The ps4 controller is staring at me right now...

Summon, summon, summon. I'm not a particularly great player either (I've never actually finished DeS or DkS1 since I'd have to solo them now lol), but playing with one or two other players makes the game considerably easier, even if it does scale the boss a bit.
Playing with other people is a lot more fun than going solo too imho
 
So is this game as totally confusing as Dark Souls? I really liked the world and combat but it was hard getting into it at the start because I had no idea what half the mechanics even did.

Took me 5 hours to get through it dude, I'm a newbie to this sort of thing. I'm starting to get better though, and really enjoying it. You'll get through it no worries, or just get some coop help :D

does this game have the option for turning off the health bar for enemies?
Don't mind bosses having one but would rather be able to see the enemy characters without a floating bar above their heads.....
 
Wow I'm dumb. Took me 8 hours notice that Trick Weapons that become 2handed when transformed have an AoE attack using L2.

Things would have been easier when I was still adjusting to the bigger number of enemies if I knew that. LOL

guys, could i get a non super bias opinion about the game performance and graphics please, please, the game looked awesome on the early videos that sony put out but the screens put at in the last few days by early players didn't look that nice, so how do it fare while playing? also, any screen tearing?
 
Does this game, much like Demon and Dark Souls, have a rich back story that is delivered in FROM's trademark fashion and worthy of being deconstructed for a while to come?

All transformed trick weapons have a special L2 attack

Guys, is there any way to earn insight quicker or maybe something I should be doing to get more. I only have 8, but want to have 10
so I can get the other summoning bell for coop from the new messengers that appear.

R1, R2 and L2?
And if I transform weapon, I have an entire new selection of R1, R2 and L2? I'm lost :lol i thought L2 was shooting the gun?
 
11 hours to go. Time is fucking crawling. Don't know what to do.

I was gonna go with the meat cleaver as my starting weapon at first, but I don't think I can resist the cane. I mean come on, a goddamn cane that turns into a whip? I'll be hunting with style
 
Where do you activate the prompt for sending townspeople to some location for safety? In my conversations with them, I'm only getting the "No" option.

When you transform certain weapons you put gun away, and L2 becomes another attack for the weapon.

no it's L1, R1, R2.

L1 becomes an attack if used during R1 combo
R1 is always fast attack
R2 is a hard attack that sometimes can be charged

You can combo R1+R2+L1 seamlessly

Finally made a big of progress earlier. I beat the first boss after it giving me lots of trouble. I ended up going a different path, leveling up a couple times and I unlocked
the elevator shortcut
Time for another break and then back to it.

Yes, but once you transform a weapon L2 becomes a new attack instead of firing the weapon :)

Yeah, I've looted about 3 of these and used them for a few extra insight points, is it just random drops though, or maybe something I can farm? I just really want those last 2 points :p

Finally got the bell with my friend. Do we have to be in the same area for him to come in my world?? It seems to take awhile for him to enter.
 
Picking this up in an hour. Too damn excited. Still don't know if I want to go Strength or Skill based with my character. I tended to play Dex and shieldless in past souls games, but even the brief glimspes of the 'strength' weapons seam fast enough to suit my needs. Can't decide!

These are some huge load times regardless... 32 seconds, with an SSD omg

L2 is also an attack if the trick weapon becomes two handed though.
 
Even though I said I wouldn't buy it because I had other games to finish first, I couldn't resist....
