HP Stream 7 £50 @ Microsoft Store

I have talked myself out of buying it (wasting an hour or so of my time in the process!). Read the anandtech review, it mentions that there is interference via the headphone jack, such that you will constantly hear static noise. This is also mentioned in some Amazon reviews.
I already have a large phone (note 2), 10" tablet, several laptops etc I can't see when I would use this.

Dos this come with a year of office 365 personal?

If so, buy it, then buy one month of full office 365 which upgrades your personal - and then cancel the subscription. You'll have 13 months of office 365 with 5 licenses, 60 minutes of Skype calls to phones per month, and unlimited one drive space - for less than the price of buying 12 months office.

Oh and you'll have a free windows tablet.

I did this with the very similar Linx 7 and can confirm it works. Of your interested in Office or cloud storage at all then this is the best deal around.

There is, but it's only a problem when you have headphones plugged into it and aren't listening to anything. So if you just take them off whenever you aren't using them, it's not a big issue.

That's quite a nice deal, full Windows 8 too not just Windows RT, right?

Full Win8.1 and Win10 ready.

I bought one of these at the MS store for $79, plus a student discount (10% off), plus the $25 gift card (bought an X1 game).

The tablet is a Hearthstone machine, really nice for in the bed.

I put in my Finnish shipping address, but the Paypal billing address is still UK.
Order went through and confirmed.
I'll see how it turns out at the end.

Ordered it, thanks. Was looking at this over Christmas as something to stream my Steam games to (considering my family have cominderred my laptop for their use).

Hook up a Bluetooth PS3 pad and I'll be good to go!

Code not working :(

Edit: The UK Deals page has gone now too. Dammit, looks like I just missed it! Gutted, I've been after a Windows tablet for a while.

Haha yeah I was just about to buy it then the code stopped working! It would of possible just gathered dust anyway.

Ordered two, one for me and one for my partner.
Really happy with this as I was going to pull the trigger at £75 just last week but decided against it.

Edit: I found there was an issue with the transaction payment page 'looping' when I was using paypal, in the end I had to use my card.

Apparently on HUKD new code is "ft6kn75gg". Not sure if working but some on HUKD said it has worked.

Hm, I got it down to 49,99 but it doesn't let me check out - after I input all of my information it just loads me back to the last page, where I have to check out.

Edit: The new code worked btw, thanks daisysmurf

No problem at all, I bought it yesterday using the old code, was just checking the HUKD thread this morning. Glad it worked :-)

Only works part way - it recognizes the code, but doesn't let me check out..

Are you trying to use Paypal to check out ? some people were having problems with Paypal yesterday. I had to use a different browser to complete mine as it kept conflicting with one of my Firefox addons?

Tried Chrome and Firefox already - maybe I'll use my CC instead.

Edit: Aaand it worked, thanks for the tip

I bought this about a month ago. Good thing is you get a year of Office 365 and a $25 Microsoft App Store/XBOX Live gift card (at least in the US).

The tablet itself works relatively well as long as you know what you are getting. The 1GB ram really kills its performance on most things, but as a light-use tablet it works great.

For the $25 gift card. On the stream 7, use the desktop version of IE, there are instructions on the website that you will need to change security settings in order to validate that you have a hp stream 7.

Going from memory, visit http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/HPStream/, click sign in. You will then need to go to (under IE) settings > security, add microsoft.com as a trusted website. After, click custom level and enable "initialize and script activex controls not marked as safe for scripting" under activex controls After that, check the checkbox for enable protected mode. After, click verify, a dialog box should show up on the bottom of your screen asking if you want to run the activex control, just click yes and you should be on your way.

I would guess this works in the UK but someone please check.

So tempted to pick one up to use at night when feeding the new born, at the same time money is tight soo.... I'll stick with books/my phone for now :/ . Great deal though, thanks for sharing!

I hate the fact I bought something purely cos it seemed like a good deal.

I'm on the verge of buying it for that reason alone. I've got a second gen Nexus 7 that's perfectly functional, but I'd like something that's going to run Windows 10 (although I don't quite know why) and this seems more cost efficient than any other option out there.

Ugh, I'm so undecided, I kind of wish a second code didn't come up to make things easier.

FOR ONCE I NAIL ONE OF THESE CHEAP ASS INTERNET DEALS I AM USUALLY TOO LATE THANK YOU OP THANK YOU THANK YOU.

(i don't really need one)

These windows tablets are good for the price, you get more power out of a slightly more expensive android unit but the benefits of running a full windows OS is really nice, I have a 10inch linx and love it.

It's also worth noting that you can usually edit stuff in the bios to tweak performance, turning off speedstep helps with performance without much of a battery hit, you can also stream to twitch from these if you have a USB capture device using the built in quicksync on the processor at 720p in good quality.

These tablets can be rather useful.

*edit* another big thing is to run the intel driver update software, my tablet came with out of date drivers which made some games crash on boot or just not work, which both now work fine.

I practically only use these things to surf - I should be fine, right?

Edit: Oh, Hearthstone does sound nice...

Its a great way to get a W8 device, lets me play around with it for cheap!
I ordered that this morning with almost no issue.

For those who have issues with the payment flow, I think there's a new code floating around: ft6kn75gg

I tried it with that one, and after a couple hickups, I placed my order! :)

EverytimeI go to BUY NOW it just like refreshes that page. Looks like I can't get it.

Are you using paypal?

Anecdotally, Flintty mentioned this a few posts up, and I also had the problem - checking out with paypal would look like it was working then just dump you back at the confirm order page.

Changing to a debit card for payment fixed it, and in my case it took a good 10 minutes before they updated the order history on the site or sent me an email confirmation.

"We cannot authorise the payment method. Please make sure the information is correct, or use another payment method. If you continue to get this message, please contact your financial institution."

Using card.
:(

Yeah just changed from paypal to my card thanks.

Never really been into tablets as I have my phone but at that price I can't say no.

Seeing that this runs full 8.1, does that mean I can play Hearthstone on it?

Should be possible but might not be the most smooth experiance, never tried it myself.

The CPU could really benefit from being better but you still get a bang for your money with these, you can do a lot with them since they run full windows OS.

I've currently got an ipad 2 that by this point is pretty darn slow. I like the idea of having a tablet with full windows on it. So my question is simple:

How would this compare for basic browsing to my ipad 2? Faster? Way slower? Really all I do on my tablet is surf (a few tabs at a time) and watch netflix. Thanks!

People not on the UK , how did you do to sucessfully buy it? I try and try and it always gives me an error on the end. (using card)
