How is one supposed to know about the full amount? When I checked my download list it said complete, it didnt say "Complete - Ha, ha, not really"

Unfortunately I turned off my PS4, fooled by the fact it said complete and my download list was empty.

Hit the Options button and then check information on the game tile

Lots of questions for anyone far into the game. So has anyone gotten to the
Nightmare zone?
I'm guessing that it's just a unique location with a boss and nothing further to explore once done? Also any way to stop frenzy from occuring by those one enemies, cause that shit gets me everytime.

Also I'm trying to figure out all my options left for travel
I went to to path on the left to get to the witches and I reached a dead end. Guessing thats all there is to that area. I've explore the prison location and been everywhere I can get to before reaching a elevator I can't use. I did beat the boss though. Which took me back to a prior area. There is a tower to the right of the catherdral hangout, but the door at the top is locked, am I missing something or does that hit later? Also the forest, I'm guessing I proceed that way to continue the main path?

Aboslutely loving this game and getting close to the 15 hour mark.

Okay cool, Playgo bit shows first and then I can check the progress of the rest. Didn't even know that was implemented until today tbh. Great stuff.

What does everyone think of not being able to rest at lamps a la the bonfires of Dark Souls? I'm not sure I like the decision. If I'm running to a boss and get hurt by some grunt, I can't just run back to the lamp and give it another shot. Instead I need to waste a blood vial or let something kill me so I can try again at full health. I think the system would be more manageable if it had replenishing health items like the Estus Flask, but not being able to refresh enemies and having to farm healing items is a bad combo in my opinion.

Welcome to Demon's Souls... er, Bloodborne.

That's how it works. Your health does not replenish and you don't get a new set of consumables whenever you go to your safe place. Makes the game harder, but to compensate, the enemies drop blood vials like crazy... especially the slightly harder enemies. I have so many now I think my safe is full at 99/99.

If you can get good at the parry/riposte system which is to fire a bullet just before the enemy attacks and stun him for a critical, you will kill these guys in one shot and get lots of extra blood vials.

I absolutely love how all extra consumables are automatically sent to storage. My one gripe is that I cannot see how many blood vials and bullets I have stored without going back to Hunters dream.

one more time -- can anyone tell me where the shortcut is back to a bonfire from the third boss entrance? I am afraid to go in because I have no idea how to get back. I haven't found any shortcuts.

is anyone else getting beat by these werewolves..i died like 10 times already against these guys

if you're talking about the ones near the start, you can cheese them in the doorway down the ramp (passed them a bit and to the left).

generally speaking though, parry is your friend for these guys.

Grumble... another few hours before I can play online!!! (still background downloading). I had it all good to go then my UK account locked my US pre-order. Had to re-download.

Still I'm playing, and approaching the first boss.

Didn't spend as long in character creation as I thought. Much easier to make a decent character in this than previous Souls games. Plus you can save presets which is a huge plus. Had to rock some shades :D

Wait, wait. I got home and I see that nothing is downloading. In the downloads-section, it says:

"Bloodborne: Updated File. Installed."
"Bloodborne: Installed"

How the heck did I download 35+gb so fast? What's going on? How do I confirm that everything is installed and patched and ready to go on launch?

The game lets you play when ~5GB is done downloading so it just says its finished.

I've got a question about the outskirts:

When I first went through the forbidden woods, I was in a large, open wooded area that was filled with nothing but dogs and gun grunts. Where was this? I've been trying to find it again for hours...

It downloads the remaining 27GB while you play the game (offline).

Just molotov them twice if you're having trouble at first.

I'll just repost what i wrote on the previous page

Fret not hunters! The rest of the game is being downloaded in the background.
If you want to see the progress go to Options > Information

Go to the game, click options and then select info. If it says complete there, then you are done.

Does the day 1 patch fix anything HUGE or something? I'm wondering if I should start with an offline session while it's downloading because it's taking way too long for just 2.6 GB. I'm even using my fucking Ethernet cable and there's still like 30 mins left.

kawaiii

audio is skipping like mad for me

Damn son.

I can't handle it anymore. I talked myself into buying it by suggesting somebody else buy it.

Damn the queue, damn Alien Isolation and Dragon Age and everything else. All I want to do is die and die and die again.

I'd say you'd dig it, if you enjoy DMC and MGR for their skill based combat. It's not a one-to-one relationship, but these are highly intricate, thought out, wonderful games with a focus on skilled combat. I'd say give it a shot.

Thank you, i liked the fact they said it would be easier than dark souls, always heard of people going crazy about the hard game that one is.

On bloodborne icon press options on your controller and go to information it'll show you the download progress
Wait?! I'm so confused... when I go to the Data Storage settings, it says that Bloodborne is 8.27 out of 29.88 GB downloaded...

But when I go to my downloads, it shows both downloads as "installed". WHAT?????

You press start at the installed game and check the information. It'll have the download status there. This is the case for pretty much every digital game on the PS4

Yes, I've found it now, my point was that for "pretty much every digital game on the PS4" when it shows download complete, the download is, you know complete. When it only actually shows the "small amount you need to launch" the game in your downloads list how do you know that "You're supposed to preload everything not just the small amount you need to launch the game..."? Its not the end of the world, its just irritating as if they'd reported the download size completely I could have left my PS4 on yesterday

It will download what you need to start then when you launch the game the rest will download in the background. My AC Unity did this. Only downloaded about 6Gb then after I started the game it continued to download the rest in the background.

I think I screwed myself by finishing the game.... NG+ is too damn much. No I have to wait for people to lvl up so I can grind chalices with them.

Is ng+ like dark souls 1 or 2.

one is that it starts right after the credits or is it 2 were you can choose yourself at a bonfire when to start the second playthrough?

Oh my, I got so worried there for a minute... thanks for the clarification guys!

The initial download is done. The rest downloads in the background.

lol, you of all people, Yoshi absolutely CANNOT have any launch issues. Life simply cannot be that cruel.

I would start a topic to ask this, but I'm a junior... While I have this many Souls fans here, where should I start: DS1 or DS2?

I would go for Demon's Souls but if you are deadset on 1 or 2 then I would start with DS1
