My amazon copy is going to be here in the next 4 hours. I'm debating what class I should pick especially since I might plan on specializing in just Bloodtinge after I get vitality and stamina up

So last night I encountered a crazy man in a wheel chair. He shot at me so I killed him. Was this a mistake?

You talking about the guy in small 2 story house in town early on on the bottom floor near another enemy standing as well, right? He's just an enemy. Scared me at first too. haha

Nope! He actually scared the shit out of me the first time. After you respawn or load-in from hunters dream he will be there again.

Weird. Yeah I barely dodged his 'bluss surprise!

Yeah, that dude. I don't think he appeared as an enemy when targeting before I approached but I knew something was up...

I'm so torn if I want to start playing this today or wait until I finish Type 0 HD... I hate interrupting games in the middle of a playthrough, but I don't want to feel "rushed" and wanting to get to Bloodborne, lol.
How far are you in Type-O? The last 4 chapters go really quickly.

My only complaint with the game is the stats screen.

What do the letters next to modifiers mean?

I can't figure it out.

I wish there were tooltips or something that explained what the various modifier codes meant.

I skipped the guy with the hammer on my way to the werewolves. Took out the crowd before said werewolves and turned around. Bastard was clambering up the steps like "Where the fuck you going?"

I nearly shat myself when I saw him. I was wondering why it got quiet all of a sudden.

I used the monocle from the start screen, and I'm stuck in this zoomed in over the shoulder view. I can do all attacks/movements like normal, just stuck in this view as if I were playing Dark Souls while aiming a bow.

Wait, why can't I play my digital US copy on my EU Ps4?

I've logged in on my US account, but there's still a countdown.

This is annoying as fuck.

Happened to me too, you have to re-download from the US acc now that it's live.

Pain in the arse, I'm stuck at work and was hoping to play as soon as I got home but I have to re dl the entire thing.

I was traveling the past week, so I'm not super far. I think I'm on the last mission of Chapter 2, so I assume I have a ways to go still. :x
Its actually a fairly short game if you just play the story missions. But I'd just go with Bloodborne and come back to Type-0!

So many of you guys are saying Demon's Souls..... Not at all what I would have expected, especially since so many people say that's the most obtuse of all the games. I'm trying to find the most accessible one, especially since I'm worried that I'm not a good enough gamer to finish one of these games. Is Demons really the best place for someone starting out, or is that your bias towards the series speaking?

I think Bloodborne is a good example of accessibility does not always mean easier.

Demon's Souls is more obtuse - less direction in where to go, more complex upgrade system - more upgrade options, more materials needed to upgrade, and also possible to mess up the spawns to get rare upgrade materials until you goto NG+

But, it's also easy to farm souls, farm healing items/etc - and lots of ways to cheese the game.

Only a few hours into BB - it does seem a little more accessible - but the combat is more difficult so far.

To the more experienced Souls veterans:

Do you recommend I focus on Vitality and Endurance for the time being since I went with Military Veteran as my Origin?

Vitality and Endurance are the most important stats in any Souls game, specially Endurance

No need to focus on them since you'll want to use better weapons, but do not neglect them

Ok. I've never played a souls type game before but I am concerned about the difficulty. Is it hard to jump in and play? I really want to purchase this game.

Yeah that's what other people were telling me to do and I'm considering it. My game should arrive in a few hours. :)

Do we know how long Bloodborne is?

Sweet justice.
I baited the crazy hunter operating the machine gun to fall off the tower. I'm really not a fan of this area, these games are stressful enough without someone launching a neverending hail of bullets at you.

To all the people hating on me and Bloodborne-GAF (mostly me, though) on Twitter... mind your own business and fuck off, thank you very much.

edit: or, if you have an issue with me - why hide behind tweets? Send a PM or add me on Steam, let's have a friendly discussion why you dislike me so much.

german gaf, check saturn/media markt. a lot of them are selling the game already. just grabbed it at Saturn in Berlin (alex). Have to return the Amazon one coming tomorrow.

It's hard but it's rarely cheap. The difficulty in Souls games comes from not respecting the world, like say, thinking certain enemies are cannon fodder when alone but trying to take on a big group and getting overwhelmed, or just sprinting into new areas without checking out your surroundings first, or trying to take on an enemy that clearly looks strong without being strong enough.

The more health you have, the more hits you can take!

And you will take lots of hits.

Lots and lots and lots of hits.

Not to mention stuff like poison and frenzy wrecking your HP even when you're not being hit.

The idea is to get better with your basic dodging/rolling/avoiding getting hit and just whack away with your weapons little by little until you beat the enemies.

The more health you have, the more mistakes you can make and survive with.

Man I've only played an hour but I think I hate this game. Why does it control so slow and awkwardly? The animations are awkward and choppy. This is my first From Software title, but I'm not enjoying it so far. I'll give it some more time later today but so far I'm not impressed.

What...

So far I've only beaten the Cleric Beast, but I'm curious how to get the other bells. So far I only have the host one. I wanna do some invading. ;)

What are the perks for winning an invasion in this one?

What's this about?

35-40 Also I missed some stuff. I encountered a boss on NG+ that I missed on my first play-through

Since you completed it once, mind answering a few questions?

So how far am I from the end? I have access to the woods. I've fully explored what I can of the prison area and fought/defeated the electric beast. Can't explore elsewhere there. Also found my way to a nightmare zone but not sure if that is a optional area or what. Also what about the tower near the catherdral. Door is locked. Am I missing something obvious or does it come into play later?
