Man, I don't even care how many times Gascoigne kills me that fight is fucking amazing.

I hope there are more fights like it, or better than it.

Honestly, I went into this one Half-blind after hearing about it ages ago when it was Beast Souls and kept my eye on it without really watching more than what we've seen in the trailers(pretty much central yarnham, I know of two other locations, three if you count The Hunter's Nightmare/Dream/Requiem/sanctuary or whatever).

THIS FUCKING GAME.

Top to bottom amazing and I've just started it content wise, the Chalice dungeons are going to ruin my liiiiife.

Yeah, I love boss fights against characters that more or less fight with the same toolset you have. Human-ish bosses are so much more fun than big monsters, in my opinion. That goes for most games.

God damnit. Went exploring instead of facing the Cleric boss again and came across the Father.

You see I'm usually the opposite, I love monster fights.

This game is kind of like a wetdream to be honest, it's like Van Helsing Via Lovecraft.

EDIT: You are a mod now? Congrats!

is it abnormal to be playing for 5.5 hours and still be up to the part with the enemies surrounding the burning thing... Jesus Christ..

Yeah I'm just helping other people with this fight because it's so fucking good. I love the area you fight in, and love that he's basically just a souped up hunter using the same moves you are with that one exception. It doesn't hurt that the fight gives me major RE4 vibes.

That might be a little lengthy, you really need to get the shortcut opened up. If it makes you feel any better I was around 3.5 hours to get the shortcut opened...including character creation etc.

Gonna take a break. Finished farming for the 6000 echoes I needed to buy the Hunter Chief Eblem.

Some quick Kirkhammer impressions:

The sword part I'm not a fan of. My Saw Cleaver kills enemies faster than it and does a bit more damage.

The hammer part is where the fun is at. Shielded enemies stand no chance against it. It's slow but makes up for it in damage.

Still would use Saw Cleaver over it.

Had to try Cleric once before work. Managed it :D Used a fair few blood vials. Went back to hunters dream afterwards to quit out.... OMG Kirkhammer is mine <3

I forgot how slow PSN download speeds are, god... and the auto download thing didnt kick in either. Its fine since Ill be at work tonight when the game unlocks at midnight anyway, but still, the auto preload thing seems wonky on the PS4

So for my first run though (I played a bit of Dark Souls, never finished) should I go with ...

  • Lone Survivor-SawCleaver-pistol
  • Veteran-Axe-Pistol
  • Something else?
I would love some suggestions as well. I don't want to make the game harder than it already is by choosing the wrong background/weapon.

My download blazed. I knocked out the 2.7gb patch in like 12 minutes

Asking as this thread is updating so quickly that my questions disappeared almost instantly. :P
Only just started this and haven't spent much time with the Souls games so I'm probably asking stupid questions but...
  1. What's the easiest way to get back to the Hunter's Dream? I'm finding that I really struggle when I want to upgrade and have to find my back which often means I die before returning.
  2. Is there an in-game map? If so, how do I access it?
  3. Is there any reason in me knocking on doors and talking to people or is it just too add to the atmosphere?

Man these werewolves are driving me insane

Alright, the biggest thing is to be aggressive and dodge, backstep and the lock on help a lot but learning to switch between that is a huge boon to you.

One two smacks? great, dodge back off to get some stamina while still looking for openings.

The key thing about these fights is that hitboxes are tight, in fact when you get to the
cleric beast
you
can roll through his attacks and legs to get behind him for an attack. Being NImble is key here, these werewolves train you for the
Cleric
.

The person I gave a copy of Dark Souls 2 called me the other day asking about a PC version of Bloodborne. I explained it being part of SCEJ and it was hard to listen to the guy ask if would ever be on PC. I understand it. I just think a whole lot of people would enjoy this on PC too.

I played a tiny bit of Demon Souls but this is the first time I've really put the effort it.

Just beat the first boss and my hands were literally shaking from adrenaline, I didn't realise games could feel so tense. Just tried to do what you do in fighting games and stay calm, think clearly and don't panic/get cocky. Jesus, such a rush and such a sense of achievement.

This is why people enjoy these games. If they were hard with no sense of accomplishment, no one would play them.

Anyone know if you can actually pause if you play offline?

Also I don't see spectors most of the time when I select one on the ground.

What about the cane Nami , is it good?! I'll probably go with the cane.

Hm, no idea, sorry :-/

I have the Golds myself, link just says Gold and Silver? Maybe some Elite users can double check.

The original blog post on the US PS Blog said the audio profile would be for the Elites as well so that's what irritates me...I should have bought a pair of Golds when they were on sale all those times before

Taking a short lunch break.

2 bosses down, and I think I'm close to the 3rd one. I haven't had too much trouble with the bosses yet. Feeling good.

The game is probably going to kick my ass soon for getting cocky.

5 hours, 55 minutes until it unlocks In Norway. That's midnight. And i have to go to work early tomorrow.

Bloodborne is brutal.
