by the way, if you want the game to totally install, just just leave it in rest mode. I bought it yesterday digitally, started the download manually, put the thing into rest mode and this morning when I selected the Bloodbourne icon, it immediately applied the patch and I was in. You don't have to babysit the Info window or whatever. I think some devs are using the PlayGo system in ways that are letter-if-not-spirit of what was intended.

OK this for the beginning.. Help and advice
How do I beat the wolves? Moltovs? And how much further until the next Lantern?

I'm feeling good and breezing to the part when I'm fucking myself. Le sigh

the second lantern is after the
second boss

As someone who is level 63...im wanting to have some fun helping people out.

I purchased the small bell required to help people but now what?

1) I went into yharnham in rang it ( central yharnham ) and nothing happened. It was searching but it never connected.

2) do I loose insight when I offer help?\

3) is the bell I purchased a one time thing? or do I need to purchase another one every time I offer help?

4) does it help ANYONE or strictly someone close to my level?

5) what do I gain from doing it?

6) do I simply warp in the other players game then warp back to mine? everything untouched on my side of things?

1) Just means no one was summoning

2)Nope

3)Nope!

4)Not sure, I've been helping people past the
Blood Starved Beast
and I'm way over leveled so I guess the former.

5)An insight

6)Yeah, basically

Slightly spoilerish after 2nd boss:

I was in area just past
Cathedral ward
and found an item
various clothing. After touching it a weird spell filled screen and my character raised up into the sky, before falling down (didn't kill him). Said I was in a frenzy.

Lol.

Where's the closest Lantern? Please tell me it's past wolves..

If you go past the wolves and look to your left, there's a doorway. Go inside, then downstairs. When you're out of the house go up the stairs directly infront of you and you'll open the gate on the left side of the first lantern :D Don't know about the second lantern yet, I guess it is at the boss.

happened to me too

Easily beating fat guys:

1) stand still and wait for him to approach
2) shoot with pistol when he's attaking/swinging
3) when he's knocked down by shot use melee and instant kill him

super easy and works every time if you time it right

So when you die you lose all your blood echoes? Am I supposed to constantly go back to the hub and use the blood echoes on thangs. You can't bank/store them? About to start my first Souls game.

These types of guys / ones with capes?

Parry with gun and then use the short version of your blade until dead.

Bah I guess I just have to get better with parry

What do I do after the first boss (assuming
Cleric Beast
is the first boss)? I feel like I'm missing something, because every route I take is either a dead end or closes the loop with another part of the city I've been to already. Beating the boss opened up
leveling
, but didn't open anything physically in the world that I can see.

is psn supposed to be slow or is it just my setup? I'm using gigabit wireless but my ETA for the 2.69GB Bloodborne patch is 90 minutes (it was 4 hours but it looks like it sped up a tiny bit)

I swear to god, there's always an issue with me and release games. If this ends up becoming the issue, I'll fucking rip my own heart out. I want to have 8 hours of efficient game-time before I head to college... none of this "hold on while it's downloading, silly hunter"-bullshit.

Actually, all of this is because Sony was too fucking lazy unlocking the game for EU. US got to unlock it like what, 4 days before launch? Who is in charge of EU? Apes?

Totally feeling your pain here. At this pace my download will be complete by the time I have to get ready for work or even later.
Feels like they're sending me the game through msn messenger or something.

You got the GAF code enabled? I can lend you a hand, completely after that fight and got nothing better to do.

I managed to cancel her heal with a fully charged heavy attack, but not consistently.

Thanks, but I always fight bosses solo on my first encounter :/

Risk/reward

When you go back to the hub to spend your echoes on items or leveling up, all the enemies in the world will respawn.

It's a question of pushing further to reach the next checkpoint, or cashing out early with your echoes and then going back to try again.

Though, in addition to the regular echoes you automatically collect, you also pick up blood items that are consumable and provide you with echoes when you use them. These items will stay with you even if you die, so only use them when you plan to spend the echoes immediately.

For anyone who wants to cheese the wolves before the first boss on the bridge: Ignore them, and instead of turning right (where they are) run straight. Go down the steps, break some shit, and there's a big hole that leads to the sewers, with a little walkway on the side. Run back up, aggro a wolf, and run back down there. Go on the little platform and wait for them to tumble down. They don't die, but they can't get back up.

but how does the matchmaking connect? do I need to be in the vicinity of other players that are rining it? could I be in yharnham and be teleported to help someone on the last boss for example? that would suck....and would spoil lots...

When you die, you leave a blood stain on the ground where you died. You can go back to touch your bloodstain to pick the echoes back up, but they may also be grabbed by an enemy. In that case, kill that enemy (marked by glowing eyes) to get them back. If you die before you can get your echoes back, you lose them for good.

You can't bank your echoes, spend them or save them.

15,5 out of 30GB

Going at a blazing 800-1000mb per hour.

3 ½ hour till launch, so I'll be at around 19 out of 30GB when it's time for me to play. Will this be an issue?

I was at 12GB at unlock last night and I did character creation and some of the beginning areas without issue before going to bed. You should be ok for a bit of playing.

Any tips for someone very new to Souls like games? Anything I could be aware of before jumping into this to make it a bit smoother?

yeah. be open to the concept that you will be hit with a bunch of baffling info, and it's alright. you're supposed to be baffled. just read the notes and take every enemy seriously.

Now it's been stuck at 15.66GB.

What a torment. I am filled up with so much anger right now, I could literally feel it coming out of my asshole.

PS Network isn't working, the "What's New"-function isn't working, nothing is working but I can still see my friends online..

Oh my god.

Sounds like The Playstation Notwork in action

You could try plugging in hardwired if available, might increase your speeds. When I tested my PS4's wifi, it was horribly slow. From what little I looked into it, sounds like Sony cheaped out on the wifi in the PS4s.

Haven't really been paying much attention to the upgrade/downgrade talk but the first glaringly obvious thing I noticed on Twitch is that there doesn't seem to be any ground shadows. Kind of disappointing.

Like, ground geometry not shading stuff below it (I've seen this a few times) or just missing character shadows?

I've never been summoned or summoned anyone or seen anythign resembling a summon sign to interact with. starting to wonder if there's something wrong with my router that won't allow the peer to peer stuff or something. I have 20 insight.

Death means your blood falls on the ground. You can reclaim all of it if you go back to where you died and touch the bloodstain. If you die again before getting them however it's gone for good.

Sometimes the enemy that killed you can absorb the blood. In that case you have to kill it.

You have 15.66GB more of the game than I do at this point.

i used two insights trying to summon last night to no avail.

Ok so for cleric, do you stun right before it hits you, or when it raises its arm to attack? I had it down once, but now im getting sloppy.

Noob here, are there particular stats/ build i should invest in order to enhance survivability? Can GAF throw in some tips in regards to character build? Like what is more important vitality or endurance investment?

Also, is it possible to respec?

Wait, I disconnected the Internet really quick. Will the download not pick up from where I disconnected??
