So much love for the cane over here.

Starting to regret my saw choice. I'm sure the game was designed in a way where there are no bad decisions. Right?

Seriously what's the best approach in using this fucking saw?

Once you get through the first boss you can buy the other starting weapons for like 1000 blood echos.

Ok I ran past them. Thanks. Now I found a hidden path and then I died.. Lol back to same spot.
Nice, yeah imo having someone face off against nearly 20 enemies in one area is cruel lol. Once you get use to the combat and the weapon you are using I think you'll be fine. Good luck :)

You need to reach the first boss before you can level up.

Not true, there are madmen's whateverthefucks to be found before then. I'm level 14 and still haven't found the boss, heh.

quick question, what does L1 do?, I see him do a sword animation but not sure what it does

"Weapon trick" button. Out of combat, changes the functionality of your melee weapon (depending on what you have equipped, you might two-hand it and lose guns). In combat it'll do some whirly twirly tricks. Again weapon dependent.

It's awesome lol.

It transforms your weapon. For example if you're using the cane it transforms it into a whip.

That skull I have will let me level up? Shit, had I known that I would have used it when I found it.

How do I spend my "souls" to level up? I havent found anything to do it in the hunter's dream.

Thanks, you saved me.

No problem. Feels good to be able to help. :)

Also, you can't level up until
you either beat or die to the first boss. When you do, the doll will come to life in the Dream and you can spend Blood Echoes to level up.

Yay beat Cleric beast on the 2nd try, without really getting good yet. After my first pathetic attempt I thought it was gonna take a lot longer. I'm just not roll dodging through every attack like the dark souls days, and I'm finding the gun parry tricky compared to DS1 shield parrying too.

If you having trouble with beast cleric and you are playing scrubby like me
when he does that big ground slam where he pulls his hand out of the ground like an earthquake just run around behind him and hit him in the back while his hand is still in the ground. Also remember its good to lock on sometimes and good to unlock sometimes. When he's got you cornered it's much better to run/roll past unlocked.

There don't seem to be any bad weapon choices so far. It's all about the moveset.

Remember to press L1 to transform your weapon, which will open up a new moveset. Get familiar with all the moves. It's not really about how much damage each move does, so much as what kind of move it is.

Like, does it cover a lot of distance horizontally, can you use it to poke and so on. You want to have a couple of those moves memorized so you can effectively fight mobs and bosses.

Currently, I am in an old building with tons of barrels after
beating dudes with concrete blocks under a bridge and feral dogs caged near that building.
So am I on the right path? I haven't encountered any boss so far and I feel like I am very lost. Ugh I don't really like playing a game without any map or guide provided. This truly is hardcore stuff man :)

Load times are definitely a factor. Going into and leaving Hunter's Dreams to respawn enemies for farming is grating. lol

Ok beat the second boss
Father Whatshisname
, got that cranky old lady to the church, but now I can't for the life of me find the
little girl's house to give her the pendant charm thing.

Can you put your saved up blood in some sort of bank so you don't lose them?

Okay.

So is there a reason one of the dogs near the bridge wont die? he's at zero health and wont die no matter how much I lay into him...

My friend and I experienced this today. He was wailing on him while I was being summoned but it wouldn't die. When I entered and hit it, it died right away lol. Seems to be a glitch.

MAN.

Level 31, 19/18/18/11/7/9 - Tromping on stuff that was killing me on my way to bosses. Trying to find the third boss...

The dude on the clocktower is a dickhead.

Played about 3 hours or so and I got rocked by a couple areas.

Damn Wolves on the bridge and the dude with the giant sword in the corner that you really don't have to fight.

Regardless I feel like I might have missed the first boss somehow
I stopped playing in the aqueducts, have I gone too far

Love this game so far but I have no time to play this week which is killing me...

I like the changes and how it feels different but similar to the other souls games.

Btw , the doll will 'appear' when you get a insight. I saw on a livestream a guy get a skull
before fighting the first boss and the doll was there to level him up.

Still waiting for my preload to finish. PSN Servers are slow as fuck.

Left my PS4 running all night and it still has not finished to download the first 5gb, and the big part hasn't even started to download.
Should have bought the retail version. Sony, take a look at Steam! (I get full speed of about 5mb/s there)

*waves fist at PSN Servers*

First boss is
past the wolves at the end of the bridge. So yes, you have gone too far. Though there is another boss if you keep exploring the sewers.

Jesus christ,
Gatling Guy
is wiping the floor with me. His stupid shotgun is wiping out a huge chunk of my health and my hits aren't doing anything.

I guess I'm not ready for him yet but I opened a shortcut underneath him and it didn't lead anywhere...

Got to call it a night, but it was so hard to put it down. I probably got a good 9 hours in today and I never do that, unless it's a Souls game. It's just so damn good.

You might want to look up port forwarding or something. I bought Bloodborne on PSN this morning and was playing within 30 minutes. =P

That is where I am. He decimates me.

I have now seen most of the game's boss fights, and while they are a million times better than those in Demon's and DS2, I think the first Dark Souls still has the edge. Too much thing made out of body parts with long arms for my taste.
