Is there an easy way to replenish blood vials and bullets? I'm kind of stuck against the first boss.

The two big dudes carrying the bricks(?) next to house each drop 2 blood vials. The dude in the wheelchair inside the house drops bullets, but honestly, bullets are useless for that fight.

If you don't have molotovs, get in his ass and fuck him up.

I'm pretty much spamming the dodge move to not get run the fuck over by him, especially in the later parts of the fights. And the regain mechanic is completely fucking utterly useless on this fight as far as I can tell, like, what? I'm supposed to start mindlessly attacking him in the few seconds after I get hit by him to regain health? No, fuck that, if I do that, I'm gonna lose the rest of my hp because the dude litterally never stops attacking in a flurry

If you're spamming the dodge move that would be part of the problem. You need to effectively do it, but just like in Souls, spamming will get you nowhere. You need to get the timing down and manage your stamina still. And no, you don't mindlessly attack him to regain of course. You have to quickly asses the situation and see if you have enough of an opening to get HP back. If not, best to play it safe. When I say you need to be more aggressive in your playstyle than you would be in a Souls game, that doesn't mean to spam or mindlessly attack.

I cannot kill cleric beast to save my life. Every single time I get him to the half way point, get hit once, and fuck up the rolls afterwards. When I actually time it right, I roll into a wall because the camera goes bonkers. Will try again tomorrow. Still, a fun first hour.

So my friend is total noob and I'm trying to help him. He hasn't killed the first boss but has the reckoning bell. We are at the same latern and he used it, and I used the small resonant bell. We couldn't connect to each other even with the same password. Are we doing something wrong?

Just destroyed Cleric Beast. He was destroying me for the first dozen or so tries. Tried a different approach, calmly walked behind him rolling when he went nuts and went to town on his legs. The key for me was not locking on and staying close or behind him. Best feeling Ive had in a long time defeating a boss. Love it!

Last night on stream was so, so fun. Thanks guys.

I am however still feeling like shit because of what happened. On a positive note: it's finished!

Yeah must be more to it. I always wanted the kirkhammer cause of the sweet gif but I was doing really well with the axe...thinking about going back to it.

The hammer most def needs to be upgraded though. The sword is a useful "stay the fuck back" type of weapon with its stabbing motions though. Seems like the early on enemies are weak to the piercing type of damage.

Am guessing later on Ill have to use the kirkhammer more when enemies become resistant to the other damage types.

I carry around both and use them depending on the enemy attack patterns.

You can taunt?
Not really, unlike the other game you can't cancel out a gesture. But I meant it as running in, running out.

Thanks man! I am going to have to take another stab at it after work tomorrow

Never be afraid to see a guide or watch a video detailing how to defeat a boss. Sure it's nice to defeat an enemy by yourself but the Souls games are fucking NOTORIOUS for being heavily anti-newbie friendly as like I said the difficulty is huge and they love to hide loads of useful items.

Try not to lock on as much when you actually want to dodge / evade. Since it tethers you to the target and actually "personally" downgrades your mobility a lot causing for more accidents than anything.

To folks asking about network issues. Just remember game came out and the servers most def are getting hammered to shit.

So do keep that in mind.

Cannot beat cleric beast. Can't summon for coop. I guess I just have to level on little shit forever.

Fire works well.

Dont lock on when up close, and when you are locked on, make sure its on it's face.

I think my game is glitched. I realized I never lit the lamp post at the second boss fight area. I went back and now I just don't have the option to at all. I can't interact with it or anything.

I literally can't defeat the cleric beast. Any advice?

Folks when you ask for advice let others know what weapon you have. Since everyone here is different with the 3 choices. Will help those using the same type you are to give advice.

Molotovs are great. Though do not freak out and try to throw them rapid fire and make sure your target has actually stopped moving or else you can fuck it up and totally waste a molotov by throwing it past it.

Just a quick nooby question. Do weapons break and do you lose them forever if they do?

They just become bad enough to do low damage, but I dont think they shatter.

So co-op hunters, think for now...should we stick with keeping the password on? Or just open up with the fact that the game is at top hype?

Ugh, really starting to dislike the combat system. Lack of shield has had a negative impact on combat imo.

Second boss, whatever the fuck his name is, I don't see how I'm supposed to fight him properly, like at all. Dude just non stop bumrushes me. And I'm already out of bullets for trying to "parry" him after 2 tries. And I'm not gonna fucking farm 20 bullets for each try...

Target lock on keep dodging until there's an opening. Don't try and parry, get off individual hits when you can

Can't stress enough to the people having trouble with the first two bosses. Molotov cocktails are amazing and will make both fights infinitely easier. Just make sure you time the throws right and you'll have that rush of happiness go over you as you see the message of you killing the boss.

Another thing that helped me mitigate damage for the first two bosses was buying that first set of armor from the messengers vendor at the dream house.

I don't have the game on right now, but this is bugging me. Is there a level requirement for the first set of hunter gear you can buy? I bought the garb and hat and the option to use them were grayed out. I saw no indication anywhere that there was any sort of requirement to wear them. (I'm only level 13 at this point).

Thanks. Will grind to get some.

The grab of the blood starved beast OHKOs me, WTF? is there any other option for third boss?

He is giving me trouble as well, there is a path in the Cathedral Ward warp spot behind that leads downwards to
Central Yharnam
Gonna try there.

Edit: uhhh whoops nvm this is where you come in lol

I haven't been able to get players to join my game without password,

I can't hit the stun for shit.

Every time I try and just hit his feet he fucking pummels me.

Lock onto its face. When it does a hard slam and stays still for a sec, rush in and bust it in the face. It should go into stagger, then rip it as you would anything else. At least thats what I did with Threaded Cane.

Yeah when I finally beat the CB I just lobbed a ton of molitovs at him haha

If you don't have cocktails, staying behind him but not incredibly close is the best way to do it. You'll have to keep attacking and eventually he will get stunned from enough hits. Know when to back off and heal and know when to keep hitting and get health back with the regain system.

Having a weapon with good range helps as well. Had to ditch the cane for the Saw Spear and it has really great range and moveset on its extended form.

You need to equip them in your attire slots rather than try and use them from the inventory menu, which is what I think you're doing.

It OHKO'd me too. I fought it by playing very defensive. When you see it stand still for a moment with its arms down that means the grab attack is coming. That and the wide arm clothesline attacks I just evaded on. The other attacks typically had a period in which you can counterattack.

Anybody else having trouble finding people to co-op with? I am using no password, I am level 30 and I am standing outside of a particular ruined cathedral offering up my services, with no takers.

Fuck Father G. I get him down to 10% 4 times and I still die because of his jumping attacks. Going to go for round 9 tomorrow but God damn piece of shit boss and his BS range.

I love this game so much.

No level requirement. You don't "use" them you just hit the D pad down to where it shows your armor on the first menu and select the piece you want to replace and it'll bring up the pieces in your inventory.

Third boss related stuff: Is
Amelia or BSB
the third boss? I just fought the first one and beat her on my first try but I guess she's optional? If she isn't the third boss then where can I find
BSB

Makes you feel better I must have fought him 40 times with the cleaver before I got him. 3rd try with the whip.

I get plenty of people to summon me, but, I can't find anyone when I try to summon.

:(
