There has to be a solution. I don't want to buy a new TV when I just bought a PS4. Does a cable with aux input and with the red and white things not exist?

i would guess that you probably need an optical -> analog converter if you can't send audio over the hdmi -> dvi cable (i've been doing that for years from dvi to hdmi with my pc to my receiver, but don't know if it works the other way from a ps4)

Alright I wanted to go hardcore and went straight to
Father whatever
without leveling up. I am doing OK, but I'm having trouble staggering him
once he switches to that axe style with huge reach and spams lunge at me.

I really need to understand these stagger mechanics better. Does anyone feel like they have a solid grip on them? I'm using the pistol right now because it's description says that it is better for fast riposting. But I am wondering if I ought to be using the Blunderbuss instead? Also, I'm getting very frustrated because sometimes
I hit this dude just as he's lunging, and he still doesn't stagger
. Is there some % chance built into the stagger mechanics, and if I upgrade a stat, I will have a better chance at having it trigger?

Holy fuck, I summoned the NPC for the 3rd boss. Dude took like 3 grabs and still lived. I had used like 5+ insights for help and couldn't beat him till now. Thank you oh NPC.

Bosses 2 and 3 are basically From telling us:

If you don't learn to parry, you are going to get crushed.

I hope you all learned this lesson! :p

Ive fought my way through all sorts of paths and haven't found a boss or a lantern yet... after multiple deaths i realized you could kill the thing that killed you for your blood back. Exploring was not a good idea. Nothing to show for 2 hours of playing.

Won't be able to play the game for the next few days. Guess I don't get to experience stuff for the first time along with you guys :'(

Just woke up, 9 hours of sleep after my 20 hour BB marathon did me good , can't belive how quickly this thread moves we will hit OT2 in the next 24 hours lol.

Started using the Kirkhammer and Cleaver Saw. Kirkhammer is wonderful; I love transforming it to a hammer mid-combo.

When he turns into a beast, your best option is to interrupt his attack with a gunshot to stagger him and counterattack.

This is what I'm struggling with while playing. I've went completely 2-handed for my weapon, so using the gun, at least for how I want to play, sucks. I just can't dodge his beast form fast enough. Extremely frustrated with this fight.

Um, so you mean to tell me you did not mentally map where you were going and also practice basic fight mechanics.

You might not think you have progress to show for 2 hours of play time but I promise you, you learned some shit.

If there's someone out there who doesn't mind spoiling the Trophy list for this game, would you mind copy and pasting it inside some spoiler tags and PMing it to me?

I don't want to look at it, but I'd like to add it to the OT in spoiler tags.

Wow I'm an idiot. 3 bosses in, I got back to central Yarnham to make my way to check and see if I could find that girl... there's a guy who gives you a flamesprayer right next to that lantern.

I gotta say, while
Father Goofygoober
is a colossal asshole, he's a really fun boss that keeps you on your toes. I was not expecting
that beast transformation
and it scared the hell out of me the first time.

Yeah i know where I've been, but i took a path, died, took another path seeing what was that way, died etc. If i had just gone back i wouldn't be sitting in a measly 1k blood echoes. Too many secret paths distracting me!

One thing I'm missing from the game that were in Souls games are equipment and costume drops from enemies. Even if a lot of them were useless stat-wise I loved reading all the descriptions that gave a little context and weird stuff about the enemies you just wasted; especially when the game has amaaaazing looking enemies. And dressing up with artifacts from my fallen victims is something I enjoyed doing in Souls titles.

The thing that I love with the bosses is how they constantly keep you guessing. At one point you'll feel comfortable and ready to finish the job and then the next they're hitting you with poison attacks.

Anyone buy the Kirkhammer weapon the merchant sells?

Is it worth it?

My Str is at 16.

It depends on your playstyle really. Just buy it and find out. As folks cant really tell you if its good or not since everyone plays differently.

For me its situational and my 2nd primary weapon outside of the Hunter Axe.

Just wanted to say I'm in the same boat as you, and I've played through the ENTIRE game. (got it early).
The parry system is oddly specific as to what (and when) you can actually stagger. In my experience all the guns, pistol styles, shotgun styles, all stagger at the same rate. I tried em all, and ended up simply ignoring the entire mechanic. I'd love to test it all out on some dummy enemies but because everything you fight is unique this wouldn't be effective either. It's sort of trial and error to see what you can stagger.

I asked about an alternative rout to the blood-starved-beast earlier, there is:
It cost 10.000 echoes and is right outside the Cathedral.

It's a fun weapon. Not nearly as OP as the axe, but it staggers all day and that charged swing hits like a motherfucker. The sword is nice too, especially comboing it into the hammer.

I'm so lost, lol. Is it past the place where a dog was barking at a door and lady asked you about a safe place?

I'm sorry but I'm not in the game ATM :// So I'm getting those directions from my memory. Just go back if you're afraid of losing your money. You don't lose any items if you die though ...
