Noob question: how do I use my weapon I have in my quick use slot in the top left? I equipped molotov bit don't know how to throw out other than manually from the menu and there's no way that's the only way.

hit square. It's for everything you have in this slot.

Hi guys i have not read the last pages but on an other forum some people say that the game is really esay for them and other say that the game is as dificult as the other Souls games.

So what is the consensus about it ?

I think you just pointed out that there IS not consensus.

Pressing D-Pad Left/Right allows you to switch between the two right-handed and two-left handed weapons.

For the molotov, equip it in your quick item inventory. That's the bottom row of five items when you hit options. Then press down on the D-Pad to cycle through the items. Hit Square to use the selected item.

Edit: SDCowboy, look at post 12604.

For all those having issues with
Father G

Use the environment to your advantage (but also be aware of where you are so as not to corner yourself)

Once he transforms focus on baiting out the triple attack then punish, rinse, repeat. Should go quickly then.

I truly believe it's as hard as you allow it. It is so easy to get into this "go go go" mindset and that will lead you to your doom. Play each area smart and careful and it's not that hard. Sure, you die but you learn from those deaths. If you running around like COD it wil lnot end well for you.

Kind of a weird question: Is this game more linear than past Souls games?

Like pretty much you have to beat the second boss to progress, and there's not all that much you can do or go before you beat him. Is the rest of the game like this, or is this like a tutorial kind of thing?

(Area after second boss spoilers)

Yesterday I picked up
the Hunter's set in the Tomb of Oedon and saw this weird blue portal thing appear in midair behind the fence. A few seconds later I was suddenly ten feet up in the air and saw FRENZY appear on my screen as I lost most of my health. What the hell? That's some lovecraftian shit.

I kept hitting Triangle thinking it might change my weapon or might put me in a power stance set/etc. Really hard to get over my moveset from DkS2. lol. But getting better to remembering to do correct buttons

Yeah it happened to me as well. I died, of course. I think it gave me +1 insight though...

If the axe guy I'm thinking of is the same one, you don't have to kill him to continue. You actually want to go in the other direction towards the large mob of enemies.

That big fella isn't needed to kill, his path leads to a dead end. More so just a test and you can farm him for blood gems I believe.

Ahh cool, thanks guys. I'll just skip him for now then and continue on... I can't wait to get home and play some more.

Build question: I was doing a Skill Build (as always) but now I'm using a saw spear and love it. Should I do a Quality Build to maximize output because the spear scales D D?

Ah, I didn't know you could
actually see it at that point. Later on you can get an item that makes them visible. They are incredibly creepy looking.

Awesome! Can't wait. I'm really psyched because its seems like the complaint about DS2's bosses being just a bunch of dudes in armor has been more than addressed.

^^^^

Can't endorse the
environment
approach strongly enough. It helped me so much.

Also, can someone explain to me why I can't use the beckoning or resonant bells? I have insight, but it just makes an error noise when I try to use them.

Can someone help me know when I should be expected the
raven hunter that can give me his outfit, an emotion, and his weapon?
Where will he be in the story and what should I do? Doesn't he fight someone?

Has anyone went down the alley the mob is coming from and broke the boxes to find the giant dude with the axe/scythe? This is in the very beginning. I'm still trying to level up to defeat the first boss. :(

I did the same.. kept getting owned by him then focused the other way beat the first boss, got more confident in the combat, then came back and took him out first try! Felt good lol.

Are blood gems reusable on any weapon?

Also am I okay to continue to upgrade my cane and not have to worry about saving it for better weapons? Just got Gascoigne down and have weapon at the max from blood shards it was I think

I played for a few hours last night, much to my detriment (I went to sleep way later than I usually do on a work night!).

I had a blast, and adjusting to the Bloodborne way of combat wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

The first area was challenging, and I died quite a few times, but I was able to fortify my weapon twice before facing the Cleric Beast. I was expecting an insane fight being as how I couldn't level, but I defeated him first try, with over 13,000 Blood Echoes on the line. The combination of Oil Urn and Molotovs worked very well, although I only had two Oil Urns, which I used to bookend the battle, throwing all but 2 Molotovs in between evading attacks, and melee striking him when the opportunity presented itself.

I was able to level up about 10 times after that. I went from level 10-20. Lol.

Now I'm on my way to work (late), and all I can think about is getting home and planning my next foray into Yarnham.

he can be pretty vulnerable to gunshot stunning. just have to watch out for the very long reach he has with that axe.

Yeah I beat him. Didn't get anything, but I enjoyed that there was a message on the ground behind him saying 'Nothing here but respect'.

Where do you guys think souls gameplay goes after this?

For me, I can't go back to the slower paced souls.

Well i always thought the game had a certain speed if you had the correct weight. I don't have a problem with them going back to slower build. Maybe they might flip the coin and make a heavy only souls game in th vain of monster hunter.

Haha, discovered that Hunter's Area has a whole backyard after wondering where the old guy went. Loveee the hub. Not as great as Demon's Souls' though, because DeS had a whole lot more in terms of Hall of Fame room and all that.

Hoping that the gated section of the Dream unlocks that area, but it's so neat.

YES! FUCK YOU, CLERIC BEAST!

I did summon help though, no shame. As long as the beast is dead. My insight went from 4 to 7 after the boss though, did I get three from defeating it or what?

So first night with bloodborne was an interesting one. I start the night with a few drinks and immediately get lost in the dreamworld, reading all the messages on the ground then not knowing which door to open. I spend 20 mins trying to figure out how to open a door but nothing. Then I decide their mist be something I have to trigger. I see the man in the man in the wheelchair sleeping, so I think to punch him to wake up. After I hit him, he disappears, I look to my girlfriend and say I think i f*cked up. Look up online, figure out how to transport. I then say to myself, "I am not going to touch a guide again". I work my way to two obstacles a big guy who is apparently difficult to kill based on the messages left on the ground (I almost kill him first attempt using fireworks and decide for the final blow I will jump in...bad idea) and this mob that I try to draw out, but ended up getting screwed by some random dog. I thought to myself, "No drinking when I play this next time" then pass out.

I still don't know if I screwed myself hitting the sleeping man, if someone knows please tell me.
