People that had no issues with Father G whatsoever: what weapons are you using? How did you handle
his final form?
On my successful run I used the
music box on his beast form
and was able to back stab which left him with like 3% health left. All other attempts I tried to use cane and hammer and would get absolutely curb stomped at the last part.

shortened saw/cleaver and pistol. i just hit and dodged and waited for a chance to attack during his
beast form
. he was pretty easy to me. very predictable attack animations.

Yes, it's still possible it is.

Late game spoiler:
The creatures who cast this don't appear until you kill a certain boss. Why I'm not sure if this is intentional or not is because either they're invisible (which I don't think they are, lore wise) or they aren't technically supposed to be there, but the developers just put the data there to not make them visible, but one of them is still able to interact with players early game.

I didn't have to kill any boss for them to become visible, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. There's an item you can obtain (not from a boss) that makes them visible.
It's clearly just a troll by From. They put the gear next to the gate so that the average player will grab it and go into their inventory, and get grabbed when they're not paying attention.

Are there any enemies that drop molotovs near the beginning before the first boss? I used up all of mine trying to kill the first boss last night and I have none left now. :(

I fucking beat first boss, first try. HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN?!
I died a million times getting there thou. Damn, my dark souls playstyle cripples me. Time to unlearn.

I'm using the Axe and pistol. I got him down to about quarter health before he transformed then once he did I just parried his first attack afterward and the counterattack killed him. Parrys are really good against him.

It took me 15 minutes to farm about 50 blood vials and about 100k blood echoes so added together about 250 vials. Remember those early complains about people saying they are hard to get by , will se how it is later on in the game just entered forbidden woods.

The Healing Church Workshop has me confused...the top is locked, and the lower area is so impossible to try and drop down to. I can't see that being the main path, I must've died 20 times last night trying to drop onto those thin ledges before ragequitting. Did I miss a path?

I expected a thrusting weapon but the basic weapon is just the Saw Cleaver and transformed its kinda a great sword because of the horizontal sweep

The saw sword you can get from one of the buildings in Yarnham has a thrusting move for the open mode/heavy attack.

It doesn't go nearly as far as you'd expect, though.

I did not expect the Beast mode thing my first time so I died, but here is what I did on my successful attempt:

1 - His health at the beginning is really easy to take down. Parry and riposte him.
2 - As he changes into the third stage (beast), you have a ~10 second window, throw two molotovs at him.
3 - Father G should now be dead. If he is not, slice him once or twice up close.

Cleric Beast was harder imo, because I couldn't figure out when to parry it (same goes for Father G's beast mode. I suck at parrying the beasts.

Did anyone actually
refuse Alfred? I'm really curious to know what happens if you do... of course Im too chicken shit to do it myself :p

The beginning is definitely harder. After the second boss the difficulty curve levels off to normal Souls levels.

Haven't gotten far after the second boss yet, but it could be just the player adjusting to the mechanics by the second boss. I'm using the regain and understanding the dodge and charged swings way more than I was at the beginning.

Saw Cleaver/Hunter Blunderbluss

I basically parried everything I could and, when he was low on health [you know what happens], I tossed Molotov at him.

Wow i totally forgot about that top door, but yeh I dropped down and continued the game from there.

Yes and no.
After a certain boss, these things become visible all over. Though there are two I ran into before this moment in the game. One that casts near the grave. The other was in a temple, but I had a stone which I believe saved me, and then got warped to the nightmare region
During that second moment, when your in it's grasp, you can clearly see an outline of invisibilty.

4th boss
Amelia down. Patience, patience patience. I'm sure I could do it quicker but damn she fucked me up so many times with 1-shot kills.

Someone PLEASE show up near the
blood starved beast
been standing here waiting for help for 20 minutes. This summoning system is really hit or miss for me.

Has anyone rescued any people? I sent the old complaining lady to the cathedral. I also sent Viola (music box girl) there too. The problem is Viola hasn't appeared there. I think not giving her the red brooch might have screwed things up.

I'm not normally one to oversell how awesome Souls-type games are for being tough, or just say "gid gud". But with all the copies of Bloodborne showing up on Craigslist a day later and so many new folks getting steamrolled by this kind of game, I am reminded of a PSA on player development:

Because you know, if you get into these games, it's completely true.

I would like to know more about arcane, some weapons scale with it but don't deal any arc damage type. Is it for when you infuse your weapon with specific type of paper, will there be some arcane blood gems ? So many questions ?

I can't bear much more of the Father boss. You can't see where you're going because the camera suddenly blows, and as soon as he hits me, I'm stun-locked and can't move.

Supposed to be top hat, but I never got any kind of code to unlock/claim it.

i'm gonna wait one more day after the 2 day requirement and then email them. they probably have it in your account but their emails can be shit with preorder bonus codes sometimes.

Is it confirmed to be a code emailed by amazon? I wasn't sure what the delivery method was.

What "certain boss" are you guys referring to?
Because I was under the impression that it was the stone that made them visible. I don't recall killing a boss that would have any effect on those.. things.

I am nearing a rage point with him. I have never had a Souls boss give me this much trouble. Even with the stupid misic box. Going to try again tomorrow.

Did you get the music box? Are you parrying using the gun fire counters? These two things really helped me.

If you use the music box too many times in his first form, he'll transform early - so it's best to do the parrying move to get him low health, then do the music box once in his second form and do a charge attack for maximum damage while he is stunned.
