I think I've asked this but how do I tell if a weapons DMG is raised by the STR or SKILL stat?

I couldn't figure it out in the game I am looking at full weapons stats on a website and I don't see anything that tells me what kid of weapon it is.

Are all 'Trick' weapons a skill weapon?

look at the corresponding letters in the weapon description/stats. it goes from E all the way to S, i think, with S being the best.

oh, word? insight is the eyeball right? what do i do with the number i have above the eyeball? are those blood echoes? do i just use those to buy items?

Correct. Blood Echoes replace Souls from the prior games. They are your EXP and your currency. You spend them on almost everything, leveling and items included. So try to hold on to them!

Thread moves to fast and no one answered, but I will repeat:

How do you go through Nightmare Frontier? I keep getting chain invaded, as soon as I kill one invader, I get invaded by another one straight away. Is this Bloodbornes Belfry Luna?

Please, PLEASE tell me helping other people beat a boss gives you insight? I'm having trouble getting even 10 insight to get the small resonant bell and I'm planning on doing a lot of coop so I need a way to consistently get more insight.

Come on FROM, just let me play online to my heart's content :( why do you have to add these kind of annoying restrictions

i don't remember! He killed another person too!! I I just attacked him and he turned into a giant lightning beast! Wtf
Lol, holy shit.
anyway he was basically
eating people. a lot of bodies around him.
now I want to go and try to kill him too.

I still can't find next area after the turret guy.
Someone said there's a passageway behind the blood altar. When I go there, left = birds and a dead end; right takes me to a ladder which puts me right back at the start (base of the tower where turret guy is). What am I doing wrong?

As I just noticed, the online component hadn't loaded all the way til now. Now all those messages and stuff pop up at the bottom. Is nobody annoyed by that? A little distracting at times.

After 10 hours, 2 bosses down, Bloodborne is the game to beat thus far in 2015. I was always fascinated with the series without ever playing it, but delving in deep - during it's launch no less, this gaming experience right here feels amazing.

The game isn't designed for people to stroll through with their friends at their side - it wants you to be miserable and lonely.

The summoning has always been intended as a helpful tool when you struggle than a way to co-op the entire game

Daaaaaaang the
tower hunter
is tough. Luckily I was able to force him off.

I love how a lot of the tough enemies are
other hunters

So I'm having a hard time getting to the Cleric Boss. I beat Dark Souls twice so I don't know why this is such a struggle for me.

The two Nether Beasts (I think) keep getting me. I try to lure out one at a time with the molotovs but they both charge me every time. I had considered trying a pebble. Is there some trick to beating them besides "git gud"

If you approach them from the other end of the bridge and lure them to the two-story house they'll get stuck at the door and will be much easier. You could also just pebble lure one of em; the second one follows shortly after but there is enough of a delay to finish the first one before the second comes.

I have a general question as a beginner: After reading tons of stories from the other souls games where people lost thousands of souls due to dying, what is the purpose of saving up so much? Can't you just spend them right away so you don't lose as much in the worst case?

If I remember correctly, past the ladder with the turret guy, there's a doorway. Going through this building will bring you to a street which eventually leads to a boss fight.

I think he is talking about wanting to do unlimited Sunbro like you can in other Souls games. This is a big factor for me. If I can't Sunbro endlessly, I probably won't enjoy the game as much.

Thank you! I will try this after work.

Another question, do you have to wait until after the first boss to level up in this game? I haven't found insight yet.

On some tips page, it says to keep talking to a guy coughing outside of a window and he gives you a "cool item", but he isn't saying anything except about aquaducts now. Am I at the wrong place or what? (it's the guy by one of the first lamps)

THIS.

Honestly, if its not easy/unlimited, I'll prob end up playing the DS2 port more, even though I'm feeling this game more.

Haven't been there yet, but you might just wanna do that in offline mode.

If I remember correctly
there's a shortcut door right across from the ladder leading to the turret guy. Go down that ladder, out the door, and immediately left there's a very missable hallway
that takes you to the next section.

Where are you at in the game?

I just defeated the boss on the moonlight lake. Forget the name. I've also explored a lot of the nightmare region but haven't defeated the boss. Also the prison area you get taken too, I cleared out but can't find a way to progress so left. Now I've got a new part of the city opened after this last boss, so that's where I am at currenty.

i dunno the requirements but i did get it a bit later.

Beat Father Gascoigne first try, it was a pretty good fight.

Was on lvl 20, with the saw spear+1 in the basic form for fast attacks, also having 20 blood vials helped lol probably used the music box once.

I still don't get it. I saw the stat letters but it doesn't tell me if that weapon is a STR or SKILL weapon does it?

Example, the saw cleaver has a D STR bonus and E SKILL bonus, but is the weapon itself a STR or SKILL weapon?

Am I describing it wrong. I thought I read that Strength weapons get strong by raising STR and skill weapons get stronger by raising the SKILL stat. I just can't which a specific weapon is.

Quick question about Old Yharnam:
I'm at the base of the Gatling Gun guy's tower, and I'm looking for a lamp. Is there one nearby? That was a long trek from the last lamp to here, and if there's any way to make it shorter next time, I want to do it now.

If there isn't one, does killing him once kill him permanently? If so, what's the best tactic against him?

That's because level up requirements go up each time you level up so there will be times when you need 10K+ Souls to get to the next level which would mean that there will be time you will be running around with 9K souls trying to farm that last 1K to get to the next level.

And you can't spend Souls at the spot... you have to go back to the Hub which is a huge pain in the ass.

I don't think there's another lantern nearby but there's a short cut from the Old Yharnam lantern to this area (which also serves as the shortcut to the boss of this area).

Killing him kills him permanently and the best tactic to use against him is to just keep dodging and wait for him to just drop from the ledge himself.

Question about weapon selection.

Looking at some online sources I'm not seeing a lot of skill scaling weapons that are worth using outside of the burial blade which apparently doesnt come until the end of the game, kinda makes me think i should go with quality or something until then, any thoughts?

the main problem with that boss is the fucking camera. i love not seeing anything when it gets behind geometry and then getting my ass kicked lol. i wish the placement was higher so it didn't hit the damn bridge walls so much.

Cleric Beast is a good boss but the arena you fight it in in too narrow imo.

Bought the game. Heh, local game store was selling copies that were meant for bundles (has the ''not to be sold separately'' label). That's kinda ugly but also small. On the plus side the cover art has the actual city and is wayyy better than the white/grey fog one that I assume is still the common cover for EU at least.

Does anyone else feel like there's a new father of "Survival Horror" now? Genre labels aside, Mikami got out Mikami'd by Miyazaki with this one. There's so much classic Mikami throughout.
