Anything with more then one enemy during boss battles always feels a bit shitty imo lol. I just don't care for that style. Gives me too much stress.

I get to the
2 werewolves. I notice there is a path in front instead of engaging them so I check it, I find some sort of what looks like a hidden path that leads to some sewers. I drop down carefully each step, when I notice there was a ladder all along, I try to get on the ladder but somehow fall down to the water and get ganked by 384 rats.
...fuck. These fucking Souls games man...
 
This game has me hooked. As a Souls player who lived and died by the quick roll, I feel like Bloodborne was made for me. I actually had a bit of trouble adjusting to the dodge at first as I repeatedly expected the roll animation. But I have adjusted and I am in the zone and loving it.

That pistol counter is so satisfying too.
 
8ve reached the point of frustration where I think I'm done with this game

I'm giving vicar amelia everything I got and it's not enough been attempting her for 3 hours now and I'm not getting anywhere.


I'm getting sick of the loading screen and I'm tired of farming blood vials to attempt her.

What's more? You can't summon help for her...

To those who bought the game despite not liking demons and or dark souls, do you regret your purchase? Are you having fun?

I keep seeing people say this and I don't get it. Are you connected via Wi-Fi? I'm hardwired and get near my connection limit of 125 Mbps. I think the game, patch, and mini soundtrack took a total of maybe 10 minutes.

The WiFi on the PS4 blows though.

It's been a while but IIRC in Dark Souls it was

Soul level +/- 10 +/- (Soul Level/10)

So if you were lvl 25 it would be

25 +/- 10 +/- (2.5)

= you could summon either 12 levels below you or up to 12 levels ahead of you



But then I remember soul memory in DKs2 fucked everything up

Another newbie to the series here. Played for a couple of hours yesterday and Im really liking it. Made it to the first boss and it whooped my ass badly.
Unfortunately I had another compromise so I had to stop playing before I could beat the damm thing.

So I quit the game after I died, and my question is: Will I still be able to retrieve my blood echoes when I get to play today? I had like 5000 of them.
 
I'm enjoying this a lot, guys.

The faster combat is a nice change which is keeping me engaged, is feels quite at odds with the slow paced exploration, but when you get into a big battle it's very intense.

The Blood Vials healing system is better than I expected. Not as good as the Estus Flask from Dark Souls 1, but having it cap out at 20 items means the game can supply you with what you need via items drops, so you don't become too low on healing that often, without you gaining too much healing and becoming overpowered, so it's better than Demon's Souls in that regard.

I have a big complaint, though. All the environments look way too similar, I'm hoping it will start to change up a bit soon.

Was he the guy eating those dead bodies? I didn't send him anywhere, guess that was the right choice haha. Maybe he was infected?

Yeah, the game saves like every second.

When you load it back up it will be like you never stopped playing and your echoes will be in the same location.

What's the stats on your weapon and how are you fighting her? If you can, just upgrade your weapon to +3 or so and just stick on her butt. Just dodge to the right and stay on her like a bad habit. Seriously, be insanely close to her. If you ever see her do that double fist slam, you're too far away.

Go a different route. Possible to the left and explore over there. Come back after a few levels. :D Fire is not a friend of Vicar either in my experience.

That has happened to plenty of us. You're in good company. It definitely happened to me.
 
I've played Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2 and I think this game is harder than those 3.

I've died a shitload of times.

Also, so far, only 2 weapons with good Skill scaling kind of sucks. Makes me regret I chose Skill instead of Strength as primary stat.
 
Wow, anyone getting any real bad stuttering in old yharnam. Game freezes for a split second and makes a buzz noise. Very choppy for me in that area. Not sure if its just my system or the game.
 
Slow effin PSN. Got ready to play the game and heta greeted by a 4 hour download. Well that pretty much rules out any chance to play the game today. Crap.

I'm not sure in this game, but Demon's Souls was +/- 10 levels and I think Dark Souls was like 10% or something (it was different from DeS at least). I think I played with a friend who was like 12 levels higher than me if I remember correctly so it may be different yet again.

like I said, these games. There truly is nothing like them. Why do we crave the desperation. The feeling I just had when that happen... its not a good feeling lol. Why do we do these to ourselves :D
