yes you can. i also found boss 1 (cleric beast) very difficult to parry. only did it twice, both accidentally

Let's say I'm looking forward, so the shortcut to boss is on my left, path to the patrols going up and down the alley and the bonfire is on the right, and the way to first area is behind me. Which of those 3 paths holds the music box? Left, right, or behind?

easiest path is on the left. You have to go through the house, continue down into the sewers. The ladder up is halfway in the aqueducts. You'll know you're close by the crawling enemies.

You need to have the small resonant bell from the hunter's dream. You need to have 10 insight in your inventory to access the messenger. The bell itself costs 1 insight.

Go into the house and immediately take the first door on the left and look left as soon as you are out of it. There is a fountain there with the messenger.

Just make sure you get whatever else you want from that messenger before backing out because then you will have 9 insight and won't be able to access it again until you have 10.

I can't tell where you're at. Turn on a torch and look below you for somewhere to break your fall or teleport back to lantern.

I rolled off to another platform that's pretty far down, but not gon-get-murdered down.

Yes. Not sure about all of them, but I've knocked some bosses on their butts with my blunderbuss.

Co-op in the chalice dungeons is a giant pain in the ass. Want to just clear the dungeon with your friends? Be prepared to clear each layer and boss multiple times and spend half your time summoning each other repeatedly.

Is the parry animation different from the "I'm damaged and am going to crumple for a bit" animation? Are you sure it's actually a parry(?

it has a higher learning curve but once you learn how to use it it is amazing. love it for crowd control

You have to hit his head but there's no way to target it specifically. I think the key is to be close to him when you fire

Just flick the right stick up and the target should switch from the chest the head.
