Ah. So the new vendor will only show up when I have 10 ACTIVE insights (as shown in the upper right cover of the screen)? Can I just use the stock insights to boost up the number? Or I have to get insights via the "legit" way? I have 8 active insight now and a bunch in my inventory. I actually don't know how I gained those 8 insights...

They have to be active.

You get 1 insight for finding a boss and 2 (or 3?) for killing a boss. You can also get 1 for killing an invader or for killing a boss as a guest.

I just started this up and beat the Cleric Beast on my third attempt. All I can say is wow that fight was more epic and intense then most fights in DeS or DS1 (haven't played DS2). Hope they get even better because if they do, this game is a masterpiece.

Just sneak up behind him, do the heavy attack, the do the critical hit. Literally looks like your pulling his ass out of him lol.

go from his lamp and descend a ladder in the area with the dude who rolls the big flaming boulder down the bridge. The passage at the bottom of the ladder puts you right behind the pig and you can sneak up on it do a charged R2, backstab and then collect the spoils when he dies.

I actually did it this way without having yet killed Father G by running over there, but checking the ladder before proceeding to the boss.

I assume that's a shortcut back from an area later in the game. I've been all through that area and didn't see anything.

Finally beat the Cleric Beast. Those load times and bad camera were really getting to me. I think this is the longest I've ever stuck with a "souls" game. Not sure if what I'm experiencing is "fun", but I'm sticking with it for now.
