i guess i can say i gave it a try.. bought the game and realized that the difficulty is just not for me. I'm not a patient player, i should've realized after buying Demon Souls when it first came out. (i gave up on that too)
I thought Bloodborne would be better for me because of the faster pace.

Don't get me wrong.. i'm not saying the game is bad because it clearly isn't. I'm kinda disappointed that i don't have the motivation to grind through it.

Same for me and all the Souls game really...I love them but at one point I must admit defeat,I just cant do it...I will push as far as I can in this one but doesnt look any different...the only Boss I met so far killed me in like 30 seconds lol,I am level 16...I think its the first Boss anyway....

Anybody experience or hear about the glitch where the game slows to a crawl (1 frame every 3 seconds or so) after passing through a fog wall?

I hope my playthrough isnt fucked.

Is there a way to get rid of the resonating bell message when the summons aren't working? I'm trying to join people's worlds, but it just keeps trying for too long. The message is super annoying.

In the newcomers thread that was closed before it saw its first birthday there were a lot of people on the fence regarding this game. I am one of those people. I bought Dark Souls 1 and 2 and Demon Souls multiple times but I hated them. I bought Lords of the Fallen for the PS4 and had a great, though frustrating time. I really enjoyed it. Would those of you who were/are on the fence recommend getting Bloodborne? I don't know what the difference was between Lords of the Fall and Dark/Demon Souls so I don't have much to go on.

Im completely new to souls like games, and I just beat the cleric beast! Whats the best stats to level up? I know some stats govern what weapons you can use. what stat is the sawcleaver? Thats t he weapon Im using. Also, I figure endurence and vitality are always good bets.

This just happened to me.

Ouch. I've ran into a somewhat alarming amount of bugs today, nothing game-breaking but definitely annoying. And they gotta do something about summoning.

I kind of feel like playing PoE for a couple of days or the rest of the week and see if FROM can come up with a patch early next week.

The real first boss: the garbage camera angles in this game. Jesus christ, every time it is just getting jammed up in close quarters and seeing nothing other than Cleric ass hair. Zoom out please!

what should I spend my blood things on? I've got the hunter armor from that sewer area but I don't know where to go, and I get wrecked by the big black dogs on the bridge

shortcut to first boss is a godsend. But now my souls are all inside the fog, I cant level up and cheese it :(

Believe it or not but I'm 1/1 om both Cleric Beast and Father Casgoine. Up to the next boss!

Btw Father Casgoine didn't show up on the bridge before the cleric beast, did i miss any dialogue or anything else?

Fuck. Just got killed by
Darkbeast Paarl
when it was one hit from death. At least I got the tactic down.
Basically Sif, only you don't want him to get too charged up.

What I did was always try to sprint approach the boss from behind when there was a gap and power thrust (I'm using great sword) into its side once and then roll out and wait for the next opening.

Did you solo this?
I have no idea how you can ignore the adds since they keep walking backwards around the boss in such a way that it's literally encircled. Trying to find an actual opening equates to me just standing there, trying to get them to walk back out towards me so that I can run in. It's actually faster to kill them when that happens. But then after the first teleport you have to deal with the projectile nonsense on top of trying to kill/ignore/find an opening that doesn't happen for me.

The R2 charge attack when it's transformed is filthy. I love it.

Oh man, I so agree. Dangerous to pull off, but so incredibly satisfying when you do. I love it when you hit an enemy while they're in the middle of a jumping attack, and just completely crush them back into the ground.

If you didn't like any other Souls game, I would say it is unlikely you will like Bloodborne.

It is different in a lot of ways, but broad strokes it is the same.

God i sent that annoying lady near to the dogs to the clinic and im
pretty sure she is dead now, that nurse pretty much implied that with her tone and her creepy laugh at the end of her conversation. Not that i give shit fuck you old lady
Yeah same thing happened to me looks like either choice is a bad idea

Bloodborne is on another level. Just know though that if lords of the fallen frustrated you, this game will be that more infuriating. LOTF was a rather easy game compared to the souls games.

Yeah, the new bell system is the first purely negative change I can think of. Changing estus and removing humanity removes some depth, but I can at least see why they did it.

Curious. Is this an entry in the Souls series or is it a completely different game but with similarities?

It shares the DNA of the Souls series. Has a faster, more aggressive gameplay style and the same way of story telling.

It's not directly connected to any of the previous games. It's a whole new IP and setting.

The boss
Father Gascoigne
is really easy when you use the "intended" (?) strat.

Basically (
Fuck the music box), you simply kite him near one of the gravestones, and have him facing directly opposite to you, with the gravestone in between you and him. He'll continually attack the gravestones, and you do your R2 windup attack repeatedly, hitting / connecting through the gravestones.

When he transforms, he breaks the gravestones, which makes me think that the kiting / cheesing is an intended strat. When he transforms, look to use your gun to parry, it should take 2-3 parries to finish him in wolf form.

This video demonstrates it perfectly.. Spoiler Warning.

So I bought the Repeating Pistol and I'm not liking it as much as the standard Hunter Pistol+1 I had before. Seems harder to stun with (does fortifying help with that?) and the added ammo consumption is obnoxious. Problem is, I sold the Hunter Pistol. Is there a buyback option or another quality one ammo weapon coming up or should I just buy another Hunter Pistol?

The small bell for co-op being locked behind this games version of humanity is straight ass.

How do I get more insight ?

To clarify I want people to summon me. Might just make another character when I get home.

Yea solo'd it. Took about 7 tries though.

After completing the game 100% solo, the only boss I that caused me some proper frustration was
Blood Starved Beast
. That second phase, PhhhhEEEW..

Though, I seem to have missed a lot of content, if this thread is anything to go by.
Which I can't understand, cause I've been really thorough, and have went through all the areas several times.

All in all, the game wasn't as difficult as I had hoped. (Sorry to the guys who's having a hard time.) :p
Could be cause I went with axe, and then great sword for the rest of my play through.

One level costs me 70k souls now. With STR at 50 and my great sword maxed out, there isn't really any way I can upgrade my damage output anymore, which kinda sucks.

Not feeling the new combat.. At all.

Getting trapped in a corner and getting hit while on the ground, while getting up and during a dodge is pretty stupid and annoying as fuck.

And I noticed that I need my shield in "souls" games.

I never played a tank nor did I turtle with a great shield, but I need my little shield.

People say the dark souls 2 dlc is pretty good.
Should I get the direct x 12 version?
But I couldn't stand the main game of DS2.
Hm..

DS2 dlc is fantastic for the most part in my opinion and most people didn't give it the attention it deserves, if how combat felt in DS2 wasn't a problem for you then i recommend it.
With BB it has a lot of mechanics that circumvents the need for a shield , with the regain system and the increased dodging speed and riposte through the gun, though it requires you to adapt and evolve your style. I think this game is better and fresher in every way but it also means it is a different kind of experience to go through so expecting it to be Dark Souls will certainly rain on people's parades.
