Do your dropped echoes disappear when you quit the game? I got stomped by CB last night and decided to come back and try again today. Just beat him and I can't find my echoes anywhere in the boss area. Iirc in DS2 your souls stayed when you quit the game.

They should be there. Game state is always saved. Sure you didn't die somewhere else on the way?

Man, why do I keep unlocking weapons tailored towards strenght build.

Hammer
Spear Gun
Drill Sword

All like 16+ requirements, Spear gun excluded still need gun skills though which I don't really have. My Skill is like 18! Where's my weapons at? I've been owning with my cleaver, but I would like some variety already. Three bosses down, guess I gotta keep trucking.

Oh yeah, 10/10 for me, my favorite Souls game by far. Just wish it ran at 60fps. That's really the only thing that could make it better. Any skill-based weapons in early Chalice Dungeon?

Questions: I have 4500 blood echoes.

Should I buy the Yharnam Hunter gear for 2500?
Or should I level up my hunter more and try to pick up the free armor?

What stats should I focus on leveling up first?

Co-oping Father G is a lot of fun! Although it seems like a lot of new players don't know how to gesture...kind of sad, gesturing to each other while co-oping was always a Souls tradition.

I LOVE how this is an unspoken rule.

The folks Ive met so far make sure to bow, always. Love it when invaders do it too.

I had so much fun watching my brother's reaction the first time one pounced.

Once you go crow, you don't go back.

I bought it because the default armor is really weak and the set have defense against physical, you can find another set which have more defense against bullets later in the sewers early in game.

Just buy it. 2500 souls is nothing and it gives better poison resistance than the free armor so you might be able to use it later

Buy the hunter gear assp. It's the best physical protection gear for the first half of the game.

God...Damnit.

Got the Cleric Beast down to a sliver of health without getting hit once, then got hung up on a lamppost and combo'ed to death instantly.

This game.

This fucking game.

If you are not sure what character build you want Strength/Skill/Arcane etc...then you are pretty safe doing Stamina/Vitality. Stamina is very important no matter what build really, I guess a gun specialist would use less.

The gear you get from the shop is pretty good. It's about equal with the early gear in the sewer, but different stats on blunt attacks/poison and stuff. can't go wrong picking it up, I did.

ive beaten the game and have yet to get that outfit. where do you acquire this ?

You either have to kill the
Crow hunter
, which is almost impossibly hard, or you have to progress through her sidequest line. In her sidequest line, you can either
help her or let her die.
The former will yeild more rewards.

In my opinion, keeping her alive is far more rewarding, story wise. but takes a lot longer.

Is the repeater faster than the regular pistol? If it gives me higher priority for parries it might be worth spending a few soul levels for.

I think I'm at the third boss. I'm in a
graveyard-type area in old yarnham with a bunch of burning crosses and there's a big archway leading to a church-like hallway with chains along the ceiling.

So if anybody's down to be summoned I'd be ever so grateful.

Does anyone know if co-op scales the difficulty? That was my only peeve with playing co-op on Dark Souls, everything felt too easy.

Would be good if monsters health and damage scaled with the more co-op players you have.

Thanks in advance.

After a ton of near-wins, I finally beat the boss of chalice level 3,
watchdog of the old lords.

this fight reminds me so much of a really hard fight in mike tyson's punchout -- recognize tells, dodge quickly, don't make mistakes or you get KO'd.

uploaded the fight to youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmZkZTdy2zk&feature=youtu.be

keep in mind while watching this that a lot of his moves and combos will get you killed even from a full health bar. one F up often means failure. this video also demonstrates why I think the hunter axe is the best weapon (so far). it's mainly because of its polearm version's stab move coming out of a dodge. so many bosses I beat by relying on this move.

Part of the reason I like to help people co-op Father G is the music box. Really satisfying to pull that out and save the host when he's about to get destroyed.

Alright, time to call it quits. Now I've defeated the first two bosses (both of them on my second attempts), soul level 17. Really good first impression and can't wait to dive in further in the coming days! hnnnggggg

I'll help you out. What's your PSN ID?

^^^

That's stinks. Amazon has rarely let me down and when they do they shower apologies on me. $5 is a bit low.

Oh, Amazon has been great and quick with the apologies, it's just frustration on my part. I contacted them about the delay and without asking they extended Prime by a month and the second time they provided the credit.

I agree. Many strength weapons early on... What about skill ones :/

lol, got stuck in midair in between some tombstone's. It was funny seeing my Hunter float in mid air while doing a falling animation.
