Word to the wise. DO NOT FINISH THE GAME UNLESS:

1. You feel ready for NG+
2. You only care about finishing it once

Warning about NG plus:

Have your weapon of preference fully upgraded.
Be above lvl 90

You will get more souls per kill, but materials will drop at the same rate. Meaning if your weapon is +9 like mine. You have to wait for end game to fully upgrade.

daaaang get rekt audie

Not sure what starter weapon I should choose. I selected the military vet (think thats what it was called)

Reading you can two hand weapons and ditch the gun if youd like. Not sure what im wanting to do. Find myself always forgetting to use it.

FUCK.

Almost beat the Cleric Beast in my first try. Got it down to 10% health before he grabbed me and slammed me on the ground a bunch of times.

Is there any way to escape that?

so I walked out into a walkway and found

a woman with a beak mask, but of course I wasnt paying attention and just attacked her like any other random mook. Got slaughtered. Remembered reading someone say that that person gave them items, go back after dying and she attacks on site. Any way to get her to cool off to give me stuff?

Ouch. Good to know. I may just go into NG+ for this game, unlike the other Souls games.

I don't think so but the wind up for the grap is pretty long and recognizable once you learn it.

Yeah. the loading is killing me.

But if it's loading…

The loading is bad but the fact you can't warp from lanterns and have to go back to the hub is the real fuck you. Also if you want shit to respawn.

So my main strategy so far is to lure 1 or 2 enemies away from the rest and pick them off. Is that a viable, common technique? Wondering the best way to take out large groups or multiple 'large' enemies.

I took down 3 crows and 2 fatty ogre dudes without any sort of pulling when they were all in the same area. But yeah that is the common strategy but not 100% necessary.

I'm beginning to find my parry and countering groove. Also figured out there are a ton of dash / roll moves to utilize by attacking right out of a sprint / side dash / backstep / forward dash. Very very useful

Ugh. Just lost 21,000 echoes. From the Old Yedhjrndjw(sp) lamp underneath from the crypt to where Blood Starved Beast was, I couldn't find another lamp or find access back to that one.

Early in that area there is a building where
a warewolf abushes you by attacking from behind a door.
You go go up some stairs in that building and open a door which will unlock a shortcut to the Old yedhgflkjghf Lamp

Ok, here's my FG video. Again, I apologize for the muttered curse at 1:18. My mic was muted, but my screw-up was terrible enough to transcend it apparently.

Not the best example to be set in the first phase of the fight, so be warned. Not too bad with phase two though.

Edit: First two videos here.

How long does it take on average to get summoned ? Also i guess it's better if you stand before the boss area like previous souls ?

"Lost connection to the network" Happened to me twice so far while waiting to get summoned... Never got disconnected in 10hours before trying to get summoned.

I'm out editing one of the Films I directed and all I can think of is Bloodborne. This is both amazing and horrifically bad for my work ethic.
I don't even want to think of all I have to do before next week.

Oh man, I suck at this. This will have to be the first game I watch others play so I can learn because I keep dying and I'm not even at the first boss.

Go back to the lantern and return to the huntsman's dream. By the way they will all be back once you do this. Happy hunting.

That's the most annoying thing about the game so far.

You'll end up opening the gate to the left which cuts out a ton of it.
There's an elevator shortcut to the left of the bridge that leads to the second boss.

Good to know. The repetition is already starting to irritate me, which is unfortunate as I enjoy the game otherwise.

I've beaten two bosses so far and I'm convinced this is the best Souls game of all time. Defeating both bosses each felt close to beating O&S all over again. Shit, I can't fucking believe this. So much adrenaline! So many endorphins! :D Oh my fucking god.

Yeah, this game actually made my palms sweat. Not even Demon's Souls managed that

It's been rare that I've had to farm vials so far. Fighting one boss I went through a full stack of 20 twice so that depleted my stores pretty good and i had to farm some, but beyond that I always have more than I need. There's one area that's pretty good for farming souls, decent soul gems, and vials at the same time, I did a few passes through there and I was fine.

Where is this magical place?

I'm a bit after two bosses, and where I am at:
Ash Guy
, cleared out the entire area, but all of loop around or go nowhere, dunno where to go at all.

I'm actually going to give this game a try. I am absolutely petrified though. I hate lack of checkpoints. For people to randomly join ur game to assist, do u need ps+?

OMG I got to that bridge and 2 of those werewolf things killed me. I tried to separate them but didn't work. The space was a little tight for me :(

Is there any way to make the crow lady happy again? I got rekd trying to steal her armor and now aggros when I get near her

Wrekt is the best word to describe what you've done to yourself.
She's an NPC that helps you fight hard hunters a couple of times later.
I never understand why people try to kill all the NPC's they meet. Maybe you'll get lucky though since you didn't actually kill her.

Have the bloodstains been working for anyone? I think I've seen 2-3 actually go through but the rest have done nothing.
