Well, I had some more alone time with the game.
Cleric Beast has been harder for me than goddamn Flamelurker. Lock on camera goes haywire during the fight, the bridge is too narrow for me, and dodge is just short enough for me to get hit by its down punch. I might try unlocked camera, but I'm so much better against minions with it ><
I'll see if molotovs help, but I don't want to farm for echoes; I haven't even done it for upping my level!

Mad respect for those who beat it first try!

Oh, and fuck those
werewolves
by the bridge. So fucking annoying.

Wish I had found some equipment, but I'm so scared of those
sewers
...

Wrekt is the best word to describe what you've done to yourself.
She's an NPC that helps you fight hard hunters a couple of times later
I never understand why people try to kill all the NPC's they meet.

I don't usually do that. It's just that I got really greedy :p

Oh man what a day!

Today i defeated:

V
icar Amelia
T
he Witch of Hemwick
S
hadow of Yharnam
(boy that was tough finding the right order for me)

Discovered N
ightmare Lecture Building
and now i'm at N
ightmare Frontier

What a blast!

I've only made it to the first boss, but so far my favorite part of this game is the sound design. I just love the sounds the enemies make. Dat Cleric Beast scream.

I'm wondering this out of weapon upgrades:

What does the
Ludwig’s Holy Blade
take to
upgrade
?

I could go for a +4 Hunter Axe with the Twin Blood Stones (since now I'M finally GETTING THEM!), but I'm curious before I spend the Eccho to get the Ludwig sword
I'm doing pretty good with the Axe.

Had a solid run against A
melia.. and then she regenned her health
I probably should have done something about that. Incredible sound design on this boss, some terrifying shit.

Just encountered
Darkbeast Paarl
insigniad out and now im in the
Upper Cathedral Ward past the locked door where the radiant sword badge is, dealing with sime terrifying werewolves.

Hoping im not to close to the end of the game trying to make the game last.

man that 2h hand is axe is beast. Breezing through game. Only the first boss was hard had to use the whip on him but 2nd boss got him in 3rd try with the axe. Just spammed the charge move on him.

Every weapon uses the same upgrade material. So the Holy Blade will need those Twin Blood Stones too.

To kill the
werewolves
lure them to the entrance of the building (to one you get to by taking the shortcut) and lure them to the archway. They are too big to pass and will just try to attack you from behind at. At that point you can just charge attack them.

And yeh, Molotovs make the first fight easier.

This game is getting weird. Got 8 bosses done now, and
there's a giant red moon in the sky. Also, the Hunter's Dream looks like it's not doing so hot right now.

So, after my first few hours on the game, opening two shorcuts and beating the Cleric Beast, I really enjoy what they did with this game.
I'm a long time Souls player, and it took me a bit of time to adjust to the new mechanics, but I find the combats are starting to look a lot like a weird mix between good old Souls games and DMC. And I'm loving this...

Too many evades to really be styling there, but I was fighting this fucker for the first time, so I was still in the "what are his patterns" mood. ^^
Nothing too fancy here, still only the very beginning, but that makes me believe we'll see some insane styling videos appear soon...

One area where I'm completely lost are the classes and stats, though.
My first run will probably be dedicated to figuring out what works best on this entry. Even though I'm usually more of a strengh player, I went for the cane, to change things up a bit and maybe fast weapons are better suited to this combat engine this time around? We'll see... ^^

BSB first try.

Take that, haters ♥

For those having problems with Father G I would recommend the following as it will help you immensely.

1.) Memorize two of his moves and learn the parry timing. This will make the boss much easier to deal with.

2.) Always stay locked onto him. Strafing has invincibility frames. Rolling does not.

3.) Be mindful of your surroundings so you don't get boxed in if you're locked on at all times.

4.) Make sure you're at sizable distance away from him. Enough so that his melee attacks won't hurt you but enough to the point that you can strafe in and attack once he's locked into his final attack animation. It will also help to get in and do your Riposte (Visceral Attack).

5.) Whenever he rolls, he will always attack. Roll to the side of him and immediately get two free slashes in.

6.) When he goes into two handed mode then you should be in two handed mode. Your two handed strong attack will always stagger him. If he's getting ready to attack and you have his moves down then use this opportunity to counterattack him. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR STAMINA

7.) When he goes into the last stage then just dodge a shit ton and use your two handed strong.

GG NO RE WIN.

Urgh guys, there is this little masked guy keep following me and kill me on sight. He is super fast. I think hes one of the npc and I accidentally attacked him. I'm at the room past the first boss. How can I get rid of him? ;(

Yeah, this game actually made my palms sweat. Not even Demon's Souls managed that

There were a few bosses in all 3 souls games that made me do that, but so far it seems Bloodborne really knows how to engage you.

Flamelurker, O&S. Manus and to a lesser extent Smelter Demon, Artorias and Quelag.

Anyone have a good strategy for taking down those
big axe wielding guys in the Cathedral ward? Also that ball a day chain one too
?
Just hug their legs and stay behind them. sometimes if you stay to the side of em they will just stand there open for a charged attack

Bosses I've killed so far. Wondering on where to go next.

CB
Father
BSB
Vicar
Witch
Shadows
Darkbeast

Where should I go next,
Bryg
or somewhere else?

Woah, thats a game I want to play.....

Well I got to a new zone,
Unseen Village
and I have no idea how I got here and the monsters here are no fucking joke, I'm getting my ass handed to me.

Two questions.
1. Dropped the brooch off and got nothing-sound right?

2. Mad mans knowledge and insight have we figured out how they are related. Are madmans knowledge worth holding onto or just burn them for insight

Finished first two bosses and now in old yarn using hunters axe which is decent.

Also met up with npc who taught me to pray assuming that's all he does

Thanks all

Mad man's insight = consumable humanity from Dark Souls. So yep, burn one when you want another Insight in your counter
