The later half of the game has definitely gone way past what I expected from this game.
A boss just came out of the moon, everything is some kind of eldritch horror, it's just a complete shift in what was going on. I have to say, this has definitely made me a lot more interested in the game.

Watchword co-op is awesome.

Also Nami, looks like that NPC's gear is for sale now from the Insight vendor. Not sure if it's any good. So there's at least that I guess.

Got the kirkhammer. Love the sword.

Does "skill" govern quick weapons like the sword while the hammer is governed by strength? Its pretty cool how skill, strength, and endurance seem to all rely on each other while bloodtinge is important for guns.. they all mesh really well, though I'm not sure what arcane is for

A lot of people seem to have trouble with the sniper in O
ld
Y
arnham
so it's naturally one of my favorite places to co-op early game. Here's a video I made showing my own personal approach to the sniper as well as a not very impressive fight that I still undeservedly won.

Ha! Literally the exact same thing happened when I fought that dude. I was damn glad too, because I was having a tough fucking time with him.

This f
orest..uh...anything in the cave?

Very lost here. I
Killed the Blood-Starved Beast, but I have no fucking idea where to go next. I know Vicar Amelia is supposed to be the next mandatory boss, but I can't find her at all in the Cathederal. Do I have to get her from the prison those bag enemies take you to, or did I really miss something?

Get the 10,000 souls echoes badge from the vendom in dreamworld, then open the gate in the graveyard area?

I have to say I'm not a fan of this healing system...It was fine in Demons because so many enemies dropped them and there were varying strengths..Every 2nd boss I need to stop for 2 hours to farm more phials, made far worse by the massive load times.

I honestly thought that was the final boss. It's not. And shit gets incredibly hard after that point. I rage quit for the evening :p

Father G down for the count. Kicked my butt all over the place yesterday ( my son and wife though it was so comical how I kept dying). Today went in an kick his ass on the 3rd try. Love this game. Now to stay skill or change to str?

How much is it recommended that I upgrade the Cane? I've forged it once, but I don't want to invest a lot of Bloodstones into it if I'm gonna get another weapon soon. I did the professional so I'm a skill based build.

Where's the third boss? Do I need the 10k echoes key to find it? I already bought it and messed around on the way to the sniper and in the spot where you can use it near the safe place.

All I really want to know is if it's behind one of the locked doors or not.

Can't beat first boss...lol.
Mazel tov. Shit, I meant molotov. Those work wonders. Get some souls, return to the hunter's dream, then stock up. A couple of well placed shots kept him out of my face during that fight.

Also, as a milquetoast, where should I be putting my souls? Right now I've been dumping them in Vit and End, but I think I'm about to fight that crazy ass turned Hunter next, so I wanted to know if I needed anything else buffed for the encounter.

Thanks GAF for todays stream views! You've all been awesome!!!

OT mentions buying hunters armor but it's pretty easy to obtain for free before the first boss you just explore. Found the full set in some nifty looking sewers filled with rats and lanky dudes who weren't too hard to cut through.

so at first i regretted killing the crow hunter near the beginning

then i saw all her gear and twin fang daggers available for sale in the hunters dream

my god im hyped, god some blood echo farming to do

also killed the third and fourth bosses tonight
blood starved beast and amelia(spelling?)

so fucking intense man, so unbelievably fun

game is gold, pure gold

Kirkhammer has an attribute bonus of B for strength and E for skill, meaning it will benefit more from strength. In general, the faster weapons tend to favor skill scaling, and the slower ones go with strength.

Arcane effects fire damage and is a damage type on some weapons

if you are having problems with Gascoigne I found a way to beat him before he even transforms
first soften him up with some molly's then go to the back of the room you fight him go up the stairs head to the left at the top of the stairs and theres a break in the fencing up there just keep falling down there let him follow you and hit him with a charge attack as he falls, when you feel he's close to transformation hit him with the music box and just wail on him, when I did it i was super proud of myself for finding the cheese.

My bitch of the evening:

Used 3 insights and no one showed up so now I've lost them forever.

Also, Fuck Father G.

Goodnight.

YES. You and me, Father G, tomorrow!

What the fuck?! Game wouldn't let me go to Hunter's Dream. I got to system and hit exit game. Game sends me to Hunter's Dream instead of main menu screen.

If I like the very first Saw Blade that you get, is that fine? Am I gimping myself by not equipping other weapons?

I'm on my way to the 4th boss with it up to +4, it's still fine. I keep a +3 Threaded Cane as backup for when I need more range, but if you use both modes you can handle any situation pretty well.

They have a little different stats. I had the currency so I bought it.

I know it has probably been answered a few times, but the thread moves so fast I might have missed it.

Does anyone know how co op works? I know about both bells and all, but is matchmaking level based? and if so what is the level gap allowed?

So I walk into
Old Yarnheim or whatever it's called and I'm getting shot at by some dude on a roof forever away and a hunter is ripping me a new ass. Any tips on beating this area? I've died like 15 times in a row now. :/

I love how Sir Gatling Gun targets you and ignores the other hunter. It's fantastic.

I'm having a hard time foreseeing ditching my axe, unless the scaling stays low after another upgrade or two. I found the Saw Spear and didn't like it as much.

Just beat the first boss on my first try ^_^ 10 Molotovs used in the process and a few heavy hits... but I DID IT! I like this game a lot. Never really got into Demons or Dark Souls (never really tried) but this game is hitting an itch I didn't know I had!

Ok, I had the first actually enjoyable invasion experience. It was my whip versus a kirkhammer and a sawcleaver, and I almost got each of them down more than once. I held my own, but alas... But boy, that felt satisfying. PvP is going to be challenging in this game with how healing and guns work.
