Anyone wanna help me take down
Amygdalla
("Great One" boss quite a bit ahead in the game)? Been waiting with the bell ringing for the last half hour by the fog gate, only one person joined and instantly ran off the cliff. :(

It's outrageous how much stuff you can miss and still beat the game.

To get to my favorite area in the game you have to do some obscure ass shit.

No kidding.
Game ending/boss spoilers:
Kinda wonder how many people will get the abrupt ending and how many will find the other 2 and other boss.

More like Miyazaki made the game too open for its own good.
Seriously, have we ever seen so much people mistaking Father G as the first boss? As much as
Armilla and BSB
constantly switching position as 3rd and 4th respectively? Hell even someone fought Darkbeast Paarl as their 3rd boss.

I'm so so sorry, i fucked it ..... again.

thanks again for all your help.

Is that the Blood Starved Beast you are having problem with? Use the fire paper to enchant your weapon. Also don't rush him. His swings are huge and leaves opening for 1 or 2 strikes.

I think Gascione IS the first boss. Cleric Beast is purely optional. The only bosses that are nor optional to me are those with opening cinematics.

So uh I took the long around and got to
clinic level two
, lady got pissed and told me to leave so I unlocked the shortcut to the lamp, go stock up and now I come back and the doors closed and she acts like nothing happened. Do I have to go all the way around again now?

Oh wait I unlocked the gate nvm

I'm at the end of the game and I've never even found Parl. So yeah. It's insane how open the game is, despite how linear it may appear. I just now found a covenant- and there seems to only be ~150 people in it according to the log book/leaderboard.

Killed Cleric Beast on my second try.

Just fucked Father G on my first.

You jelly of my mad skills Bloodborne GAF?

:D
I'm part of sl1 dark souls gaf and yes I am.
I can't get the hang of this game.

Seems like the best strategy is spamming R1 and hoping you get enough hp back before he can kill you!?

did you kill him?
can i try it again?
no, i died, again.
at the moment i don't have any insight, so i can't summon anyone, but i'm gonna and try to help and kill the boss, which will give me another insight, so i can try again.

i don't have any fire paper left. :(
What boss and level?
3rd and i'm a 22.

Speaking of covenant, Any sunbro-like covenants around?

If you're talking about Father G, best advice is to parry and counter attack. When he gone insane, don't stay too far away from his jump attack.

I'm using the hunter axe and R1 attack is a bit slower than the Saw Cleaver so spamming R1 will lead to my death. What I do is dodge around a boss while waiting for that big swing of theirs and proceed to do my R2 charge attack.

Hear people say that but that makes people more open to asking about the stuff they have missed. We can just say you have missed a shit ton and they go scrambling for information. Chalices alone will be a truck running you over and over again.

Your game is broken.
Take it out of your console or it will take damage too.

But apparently you just need 1 insight to be able to level up. And there was an item that gave it to me laying around Yharnam and I haven't fought any bosses yet. Reading the OP made me think the boss was a flag that initiates the process, but I guess it's more like you get an insight for killing a boss like you got humanity in Dark Souls.

Ran a couple hours of the Chalice Dungeons tonight.

...I don't know. These don't feel very fun. Just kinda grindy. And the way the rooms all kinda stay the same even if the layouts change is not my idea of fun. Fought a few bosses and I liked that they were unique but none of them were really mechanically all that interesting (I wouldn't expect them to be really). Maybe if there was some loot to be had, but it doesn't seem like there is anything besides more Chalice material.

I don't see how a community of people playing and trying things and pvping and exploring can really ever thrive with bloodborne like it did with Dark Souls 1 and 2. there's just so little to work with when it comes to experimenting, coming up with builds, finding new ways to use things, using various weapons and armor... I know I've been ranting on this a bit, but it really is so disappointing the lack of equipment and the lack of builds. characters are basically stronger or weaker versions of eachother, armor not mattering, spells not existing, and only a handful of weapons available to pick from, most of them acquired at the start of the game by any player. this game took a huge step back from dark souls games when it comes to depth of gameplay.

deeply disappointing.

edit: as long as I'm pointign out negatives -- while I don't mind challenge, I find the need to farm blood viles kind of repulsive. I can't tell you how many times I've had to stop attempting a boss because I had no blood viles -- so, tp back to hunter's dream with a long loading screen, tp to central yarnham with a long loading screen, farm the fatties for some viles, tp back to town with a long loading screen, then tp back to where the boss was. that's 4 loading screens to go farm viles just to make more attempts at the boss. that's just malicious/negligent (take your pick) game design. if the load times were short it'd be easier to forgive. being what they are, they should have made you always spawn with a minimum of viles.

Just started playing man the games good but tough...those damn werewolves After the ogre thats bashing the gate get me down
You can run past them, there's a side way to the left after them where you can enter a house, you can cheese them there as they can't enter the house. You'd have to clear it from grunts first though.

There are unique items in the chalice dungeons I believe, I know you can find weapons and runes there.

I read someone state that if you die too frequently in a given area, the enemies in that area will start drop blood vials and ammo less frequently. Can anyone confirm or debunk this?

What's in the pit behind the pig? I almost jumped down to see since I figured there has to be a reason to go back, but didn't want to risk my blood and a load time if it was a tease.

I tried, and died. If there is anything else, i didn't see it.

edit: wait there's something in that pit ? Seemed like an endless pit when i fell down.

I fought Father G as my first boss.

It was not fun.

A badge that allows you to buy any of the starting gear. Got it to buy a blunderbuss for 1.7k souls

How is that even possible? The guys that kidnap you only started showing up for me after beating BSB. Well I guess if you skip Cleric, fight father and Father, then I guess it could be third.

Edit: Actually I wounder if Cleric Beast would just be up on the top area hanging out if you skipped him and just continued along the game. I mean since you can get to the area he jumps down from.

Yep, I've noticed this.

Where have you noticed it specifically?

The route from the first campfire to the first or second boss, all those enemies have had consistent drops throughout my whole playthrough.

It's still a million times more approachable even if you mix them up as compared to the routes diverging in Dark Souls 2 once you leave tutorial forest.

An item for your messenger and a badge i think. Don't fret, a shortcut will open that will lead you behind the piggy so you can sneak and visceral his tongue but hole.

I believe it's the starting saw cleaver.

Not that it is a solution to everyone but after I cleared the first two bosses, I just dropped my bell for a few hours and helped other people take down the bosses. This allowed me to run through areas and stock up on blood viles, ammo and gave me a ton of blood echo to perform other upgrades. The load times are terrible though. I had no intention of upgrading the HDD in my PS4 but I just ordered a faster drive last night because of this game.

I really agree with your second part. Always start with 4 vials seems like nice way to balance things. Or warping between bonfires, instead of the always hunters dream in between. I think that they want to discourage warping, but no, you need tose vials. OR DECREASE DOWNLOAD TIEM

I'm not so far in yet that I can comment on the deepness of it. But I think this criticism reeks of truth for those who invest over hundreds of hours into it. I think most people will complete the game once and continue on NG+ and then stop. Even if there had been more weapons they wouldn't ve experimented that much anyway.

Damn GAF. I made major progress today :O I was stuck at 4th boss, so I was like, lets go on both of the roads that lead away from it. Next thing you know,
I wind up confronted with the witches which I killed on first try! Then, I decide to take the right path, and end up destroying both of the two hunters (one had a lightening weapon, and the other a really annoying gun). Finally, I decided to explore another area and winded up captured in a completely new area, where I explored until I dropped dead.
Now my cane is up to +6, I have tons of new armor sets, and I went back to Old Yarhnam and finished my business with a hunter there. Also bought the Holy sword, and have been sinking some points into strength so I can beef it up and use it as an alt. to my cane.

All in all, super productive, and now that I'm like level 40-something, I don't think the 4th boss will give me too much trouble :D <3 this game.
