So I think the last thing I have to do in Old Yarnham is fight Father G but I want to be sure I have not missed anything. Below is what I have gotten/done. Can someone confirm if I have missed anything?

Explored all areas and got the shortcuts to elevator.
Got the armor from the sewer
Got the Saw Spear from the sewer
Got the music box
Got the badge behind the pig
Found the lady merchant in the sewer rafters.
Found the lady at very beginning up the stairs.

I heard a rumor there were invisible walls in the sewers but I can't find any. I am going to fight Father G tonight but I don't want to go for progress if I missed anything.

Question

I haven't seen a lady merchant out in the world, I thought the only merchant's were in HD. Does she sell anything good, should I seek her out?

Okay thanks guys for all the tips! I promise I'll go and rest soon.

There! Now let's go back on topic and enjoy Bloodborne!
As soon as the fucking PS4 update is done...

Man, fuck those
squid-faced sucker
enemies. I encountered one for the first time near the
Oedon Tomb
area after the
Cathedral Ward
.
He stunned me, then grew a huge tentatcle off his head that he used to suck my face off with, nearly killing me in one go. The worst part is that he also stole almost half of my insight.
Stay away!

Oh man, if you think one of them is bad, you just wait...

I've slept a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes in the past 52h. I have two more days to go without 'much' sleep till I'm satisfied.

I'm fine :p it's kinda interesting to see how the body reacts! The current issues with my body right now:

- irritating coughs every 10-15 minutes. Stops after approx. 5-6 consecutive coughs

- the white socks on the eyes are filled with red veins

- the bottom of my head (under the hair) is scratchy

- my arms, legs and stomach is considerably more sensitive. Touches that would normally be pleasent to the skin is now uncomfortable

- nose is dripping

I'm expecting the above symptoms to multiply within the next two days. I'm also expecting headaches and slight nausea. My eyes should get better in the next 12-24h though.

what the fuck is wrong with you? get some fucking sleep.

What is the parry window on the Cleric Beast's attacks? Body or head?

I want to beat this thing without Molotov Cocktail spam.

I couldn't reliably do them. You do need to shoot it in the face, that I'm sure of. But it takes multiple shots.

I could always stagger him right off the bat with two shots to the face but after that who the hell knows.

Well, level 42 isn't too high to be summoned for Amelia. Ludwig's Holy Blade +6 putting in work. It will be hard to top this weapon, I can see myself using it for the rest of the game

Yeah, it doesn't seem very reliable with this boss.

Turned on the PS4 to play some Bloodborne, and saw that there was a firmware update. I saw the Bloodborne icon in the menu, but waited for the update.
After the update was installed, there was a PS Now icon where once was the Bloodborne logo, and I couldn't find the logo anywhere in the "quick menu".
Went to the Library tab to see if I could start the game from there, and all I could do was download Bloodborne....

TL,DR: The 2.50 Firmware Update uninstalled Bloodborne from my PS4.
I think I'm done for now..

would it have uninstalled the save game data?

probably not, right?

My digital copy of Bloodborne now has the "BUY $59.99" blue button in the drop down menu, lol. It still plays but that's weird and slightly irritating.

Question

She gives you an emote and (i believe) insight? When you go down past the dogs and begin to enter the sewers, dont go down the stairs. there are barrels hidding a little door. go in and drop down then go right. You will see another hidden door in wall and she is back there.

So, I guess she's not techincally a merchant but she does give you a couple things the first time you talk to her

Spoiler tag just in case...
So I was speaking to a fellow hunter in the area just past the sewers, out on what seems to be a balcony, and I accidentally attacked her. She started fighting back and I ended up killing her. Is she/it/whatever a recurring character, or have most of you done the same?

Get involved and help her, she can die for sure. She died in my game.
Thanks for the help! Hopefully I can continue the quest.

She has a quest which is what I'm actually doing though most just kill her to gain access to her stuff quicker.

Do you use the transformed version the majority of the time? I have the weapon but it feels a bit too slow for my liking right now. Definitely going to give it a try though. Using the Tonitrus +5 (lightning mace) right now and it slaughters everything.

Was able to sink a decent chunk of time (for me, on a weekday) last night and I'm enjoying what I've played so far, much more than the few hours I've played of Demons Souls. The removal of shield and faster paced combat was a great choice. The beginning was a little frustrating because I insisted on trying to beat that big guy (I don’t know its name, the nearby message called it “fatty”) right near the beginning that’s near the gates before the narrow path starts. After dying to him a bunch of times I said screw it and went ahead, and made a bit more progress…before dying. I think I might start again because once I died I thought “oh, I’ll cash in these two items that are meant for selling” but after I sold them I saw that I only got 70 bloodechoes a piece. Later before bed I remembered of what little I played Demons Souls that I'm supposed to use them, not sell them. D'oh.

You need to advance to the third boss,
The Blood-Starved Beast
. After you defeat it,
The chapel will have a door opened that previously wasn't. Go through it, up the elevator and fight your way to the top of the tower. The badge is in a chest.
It's a great weapon. L2 in 2H mode is incredible, and wide arcs are great for mobs. Not sure if it's hands down better than the axe, but it's great.

Word for the wise: be careful dropping down below the tower (there's a pit near the back of it if you go around the tower instead of inside). The enemies down there are tough as nails. If you win through, you unlock a shortcut that will let you get from the
chapel to Vicar Amelia
.

Accidentally....right... :P

NG+ For You!

Ouch, hopefully your saves are still there, or in that cloud thing.

My saw cleaver seems to do more damage than the Holy Blade even though the stats are better, I don't know why. Both are +5 but the cleaver takes down enemies in 2 shots while the Blade takes 3.

its a quest chain.

Am I suppose to do that? Sound kind of cheap.
His beast form does seem impossible to me, though. He just won't stop harrasing me.

Not cheap at all. The thingy reminds him of his past and he staggers. WARNING. Do NOT use it more than twice during initial form and ONCE during second transformation. IT doesn't help a lot but gives you that opening you need

Parry him in beast form? Or after using the music box?

When you use the box there is no parry as he grabs his head and staggers. Do a R2 charge attack during these times. I got him so close last night, down to a sliver of health 3 times and finally had to go to bed. Tonight, he dies by my axe.

for those who've finished, does the game have a late game slump like some of the previous Souls games? I'm up to the BSB, and man, I couldn't be anymore happy with this damn game.

Joined a covenant last night. That was some obscure shit. Pretty much just luck that I managed to. Anyone else in the C
ainhurst
covenant?

Not really. It ends while it's still good.

Tonitrus is OP when you turn on the bolts.

That gear is amazing. Where can I find it? I may have to trade up my crow hunter set.

EDIT: It kind looks like a ragged Sith warrior or something. So nice.

whoops.

I have a 30+ rated message there warning not to attack, lol.

Just asking if i'm going the right way (not much far into the game)

Machine gun dude from the tower and a church with a thing impaled in the middle? looking for the 3rd boss practically

Still more shocked at the level design of this game, damn

I have Tonitrus at +5 also and I really like that too. That was my favorite weapon for a few hours until I discovered Ludwigs. It just feels like a very nice vanilla utilitarian weapon that has my favorite moves from Souls games greatswords and longswords in one weapon. I probably use the transformed version more, but the split is more even than the axe, where I almost always used it two handed.

i attacked her, bad news is she might deliver to some additional content later (but i assume she'll be back for NG+ once i beat the game)

good news is all her gear (outfit and twin fang blades) are available for purchase in the hunters dream after killing her

The fact that you need to be told to do that should worry you and anyone that cares about you.

At what point does this become available in the shop? Haven't been upgrading the Kirkhammer since I'm planning to go Broadsword.

Has anyone been able to summon someone to help without using a password? Waited for a while at the third boss then just ended up killing it myself, now tried to use it at the 4th boss and still haven't been able to get anyone. Maybe I'm just bugged?

Make sure you have antidote. I found the fight was a lot easer once I didn't lock-on. Basically, run up to the boss and do a regular roll before he attacks, you should land right at his ass. Turn around and punish him with a 2-hit combo. I used the 2h axe (for more damage) and L2, R1. Roll away, walk up to him, roll, repeat. You'll get him down fairly quickly. When his HP is low the poison starts to hurt a lot, so if you get hit you NEED to find a couple seconds of safety and make popping an antidote your top priority. Basically, stay in the middle of the map and roll to his left after you run up to him, land at his ass and punish! You just have to keep a level head and stay calm, and make sure you roll at the right time.

I found this fight was a lot easier once I quit locking onto the boss and learned how to get up in his face and dodge his attacks with regular rolls. Regular rolls allow you to get behind the boss quicker than multiple dashes do. Don't be afraid to get all up in his shit. His main attack is super easy to punish with a two hit combo.
Thanks a lot for this :) where can I get a good supply of antidote from?

XD First time with a Souls game, so I didn't know what would happen. I did the same in Oblivion... got expelled for letting off a lightning spell inside and killing lost of peeps (that one was more curiosity).

Its always been an interesting mechanics in the Souls game. Killing NPC's can either gives you things quickly and potentially mess up future events, or keep them alive and something else happens that shifts your gameplay.

Basically you do it and then look back and go "Ahh, will try that the next time!" and the loop begins.

After the third boss, you'll find a tower and at the top is a chest with an emblem. Once you get that you can buy the sword.
