I've slept a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes in the past 52h. I have two more days to go without 'much' sleep till I'm satisfied.

I'm fine :p it's kinda interesting to see how the body reacts! The current issues with my body right now:

- irritating coughs every 10-15 minutes. Stops after approx. 5-6 consecutive coughs

- the white socks on the eyes are filled with red veins

- the bottom of my head (under the hair) is scratchy

- my arms, legs and stomach is considerably more sensitive. Touches that would normally be pleasent to the skin is now uncomfortable

- nose is dripping

I'm expecting the above symptoms to multiply within the next two days. I'm also expecting headaches and slight nausea. My eyes should get better in the next 12-24h though.

You have to know what kind of response this will solicit right? You aren't oblivious to how this looks?

Just got the game yesterday. I am so friggin excited. I'm going to play it most of the day today. I skipped through the character building process last night just to get a feel for it. I'm starting over fresh today when I get back home.

Let's all die together.

Good to know, I haven't done forward dash much, maybe I need to give it another shot. The lockon camera has been annoying me recently, discourages me from using it :)

In my experience it works nearly every time against bosses or normal dudes when they're swinging, but often only around one side. Always end up behind them and it seems like you're invincible during the transition. I hardly ever need to dash back or sideways.

Can you do this even after you give her the necklace?

I don't know. I think theres 4 different ways it could go :
Give the brooch, don't give it and send her to the Chapel, don't give it and send her to the Clinic, or don't give it and send her nowhere. Don't think we know the results of all those yet.

2 questions:

1) How do I dash+ Can so far only step back and roll. (If you mean that teleport thing)
2) How do I use items like molotovs?

Not sure on the dash as I am still in Old Yrarnham but for items, hit your options button, go down to bottom row and add consumables to it. When playing the game they are lit up left of your blood vials and bullets. select with down on the d-pad. Hit square to use item

Will definitely give this a shot now, thanks for the tip.

Some people on GAF don't know Yoshi?

Yoshi overdoses on games, sometimes goes to the hospital, and then goes again. He's been told in other threads numerous times not to, but does it anyways + has some enablers who root him on.

i.e., nothing we can do, just watch his stream and hope he doesn't die.

mid-late game spoilers.
when you get the red moon and go back to Central Yharnam.

you get,
first npc of the game transformed into a beast, you kill him, get a rune and you also see that he destroyed his window to come out.
the rune is basically the Hornet Ring.

little girl! You give her the red ribbon and she starts crying because her little sister is dead. however when you leave she starts to laugh and she's happy because the ribbon is pretty. sadly I still got no items from this.
damn pig.

so good.

So, seems this game pretty much has
magic but in the form of items
. Just fought a hunter in
byrgenwerth
who was using some crazy shit.

Okay, I need to know for curiosity sake. Why do people keep jumping to their deaths in Hunter's Dream? I tried it and you only lose a fraction of health, so they had to had been attempting it for a while.

So if we give her the brooch, what's the next step in the questline?

Because it's funny and besides
what if there is a dream inside the dream?

...

there isn't.

Wow, PS4 update is sloooooow!

That hunter's
tentacle magic
was pretty nuts. The hunter fights have been really interesting in breaking up the regular encounters so far.

So when I ring the specific bell I can invade other players? They don't have to "accept" the fight?

Correct. You will invade anyone who has a Bell Maiden spawned in their world at the same place you are ringing your invasion bell. Bell Maidens spawn when they ring their own "Looking for help" bell, and some areas have Bell Maidens spawned without them actually ringing their bell. One thing to point out however, is that most people won't be PvPing right now because they want to get through the game, so invading people will probably end up with you vs 2 - 3 people due to how the co-op works.

edit: Also, people. lay off Yoshi. It's up to him how he wants to live and he isn't hurting anyone. As someone who's done what he's doing (probably won't be doing with Bloodborne because I have a bunch of stuff I have to do over the weekend :[ ), three days without sleep isn't going to do him permanent damage. Heck, I went three days no sleep just to do my uni dissertation, and that stuff REALLY made me want to sleep. At least he's doing it because there's something he enjoys doing getting in the way. As long as he keeps hydrated and moves about every now and then he'll be fine.

I have a gem that adds fire damage to my sword. If I put the gem on, it seems to negate the effects of every other damage enhancing gem on it... is this by design, or am I reading it wrong?

oh I didn't know that, in NG+ I'll definitely try to send her to the chapel or the clinic.

I got some questions for those doing a certain NPC
Eileen the Crow
quest:

Spoilers obviously
Before quitting last night, she told me she was going to face Henryk over at the Tomb Of Odeon. I know I'll have to travel there to continue the quest but my questions are should I get involve in the fight or not? Does she die if I interfere or not? Can she even die in this one since there's a second fight if you continue her quest? Basically, how do I go about continuing her quest?

Yep! You become a FIRE GOD.

Usually in Souls games fire upgrades negate weapon scaling. Press Square to check the specifics when adding the gem, it might be the case.

So I read something interesting about Insight...
Apparently having 20 or more insight makes the game harder and gives enemies new attacks/powers?

Does anyone know if Insight has any other effects, like quest related or opening up new things?

what what what what what

I need this confirmed!

I don't know if it is because I have 28 insight but suddenly
enemies are using magic now o_o

The combat is so god damn addictive . I literally cannot stop running from Central Yarnham to Old Yarnham over and over killing everything and leveling up -- that's all I've done for like a day and a half.

Hahah, I guess not everyone is familiar with Yoshichan back in the D3:RoS release era. It seems he gets a lot of enjoyment out of binge marathons and pushing himself to the limit. From what I observed, he goes back to normal or just stops playing all together after a binge honeymoon so it really isn't going to cause long term health effects doing this every so often.

Never have I seen someone who had to buy multiple keyboards and mice to prepare for a gaming session. Hardcore man. Rest of people can relax until you want to post your entire diet and habits on the forum too. I am sure there would be plenty of things people here would be happy to pick apart. Personally, I can't fathom playing a game like BB on so little sleep. I don't do well on anything less than 6 a night, minimum. Damn migraines.
What is normal Yoshi though?

Turned on the PS4 to play some Bloodborne, and saw that there was a firmware update. I saw the Bloodborne icon in the menu, but waited for the update.
After the update was installed, there was a PS Now icon where once was the Bloodborne logo, and I couldn't find the logo anywhere in the "quick menu".
Went to the Library tab to see if I could start the game from there, and all I could do was download Bloodborne....

TL,DR: The 2.50 Firmware Update uninstalled Bloodborne from my PS4.
I think I'm done for now..

Awesome, thanks!

I seriously did not know back step chained into an attack. Swear I did not see this in any of the notes, and def didn't read about it here (perhaps it's something people intuitively found out?). Six hours into the game and I'm just learning of this...man.

O then R1

Has anybody else been playing for awhile and not known about this?

The back dash attack(dash without any direction then attack) have a pretty long range too.

Edit: Apparently rolling quickly goes into the attack animation as well, wow. Most of the time I use roll it's in a panicked evasive frenzy and I haven't tried immediately linking it to R1.

Get involved and help her, she can die for sure. She died in my game.

ir wont work. Can't fit it in my schedule. College takds too much time

And you somehow think that having slept only 6 hours in 4 or 5 days will somehow help your college performance? If you only have another 2 days to spare before you have to start learning again, then, well, your first days of learning will be utterly terrible and likely not productive at all.

So I think the last thing I have to do in Old Yarnham is fight Father G but I want to be sure I have not missed anything. Below is what I have gotten/done. Can someone confirm if I have missed anything?

Explored all areas and got the shortcuts to elevator.
Got the armor from the sewer
Got the Saw Spear from the sewer
Got the music box
Got the badge behind the pig
Found the lady merchant in the sewer rafters.
Found the lady at very beginning up the stairs.

I heard a rumor there were invisible walls in the sewers but I can't find any. I am going to fight Father G tonight but I don't want to go for progress if I missed anything.

Holy crap, ok so I just beat
Rom the Vacuous Spider
and was exploring Yarnham again. When I knocked on the window of
the little girl who gives you the music box, her sister answered, asking if I had seen her sister
. I was pretty sure I had screwed up this sidequest because I
talked to the girl after I beat Gascoigne but before I found the amulet, so had nothing to give her, but told her to go to the Oedon Chapel. She never showed up.

I can't wait to play through again and see how else I can screw up these NPC storylines.

I think she
dies anyway regardless whether you give her the brooch or not
, the game is that dark. The good part is we get another messenger cosmetic item :)

Man, fuck those
squid-faced sucker
enemies. I encountered one for the first time near the
Oedon Tomb
area after the
Cathedral Ward
.
He stunned me, then grew a huge tentatcle off his head that he used to suck my face off with, nearly killing me in one go. The worst part is that he also stole almost half of my insight.
Stay away!
