Outside of a couple instances I've skated through souls games no problem. Why am I having such a hard time with the Cleric Beast? I swear it looks like it's supposed to be Minotaur 2.0 except I never got hit by that dumbass.
I played a ton of DS 1 and 2 also. The camera and tight space makes the cleric beast very tough. Plus I only took off a tiny amount of health with each hit. I eventually had to use
molitoves and when he foes down you can quickly do a counter attack by r1-ing right in front of his face.
only takes like 5 of these to get him

Is it sad that I defeated
Vicar Amelia, Witch of Hemlock, Darkbeast Paarl, and Shadow of Yarhnam with very little trouble, but Rom is giving me issues? Have I just been playing too long?
He has a couple of cheap attacks and I had a lot of trouble with him. I just beat him a few hours ago.

I have been taking my time but I have the full set of Hunter gear now and the first upgrade to my weapon. Think it's time to really try to kill the Cleric. Wondering if it would be easier if I didn't lock on....camera goes all kinds of wonky on me when I try to get behind him.

Pretty much forcing myself to get used to guns (kirkhammer) even though I haven't found much of a need for them in almost all cases. The hunter axe transformed mode handles crowd control and single target damage so well I've been finding guns mostly pointless. I'm sure that'll eventually change.

PSA: Might be old news, but turning off autocorrect camera made the camera 10x better for me. I noticed it felt slightly "off" for me from day 1, and didn't even notice the setting for it until last night. It's way better without it.

I think you have to click square on on of the boxes and select an item. That menu isn't very clear which is why I didn't know how to use it at first. You tap the right side of the touchpad and press X to use an item in game.

Ah it's called "Switch" and is on triangle. Thx

It doesn't, i made it through the game without using a gun ever besides to test out a new one i picked up .

Can someone explain chalice dungeons to me?

I've beaten 5 bosses so far and got the shortcut to the sixth, and I haven't tried making them yet.

1. Are they completely side content, or do you want to do them during the main game?

2. Does it matter which tomb you do the ritual at? Are there differences?

3. Does the level scale with you? Is it based on using different chalices/ingredients?

4. Can you get good items/weapons/armor in them?

I'm the exact opposite, use it on a lot of regular enemies and used it on all 3 bosses I've defeated so far.

I think it's better to not lock on but the camera can still get caught on him and pull away from you running. It's pretty horrible on that fight either way.

Anyone else tried Blade of Mercy? Using them atm and i dont really know what to say about them vs bosses. The damage or dps doesnt feel that high.

Yeah, so that brooch...I didn't give it to the girl, and now she is gone. Feeling I made a mistake.

Sure. How do we make sure you summon me?

Awesome, I'm standing outside the fog gate and I think if I set the password to neogaf and you do the same I should be able to summon you. At least that's how I think it's supposed to work.

Sorry for the silly question.. But how do I throw a Molotov cocktail? I have it in my d-pad shortcut, but when I try to use it, the icon just flashes and nothing happens. I've tried putting my weapons away too. Thanks!

Didnt see this as well thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, I never made it to that fight. She died while fighting Henryk over at Father G's graveyard.

TBH so far it was the toughest fight i experienced in game , died about 10 times , but after discovering it, i was like "should i do this legit?" and i didn't lol.

It really is that good. As is the game in general. Some of the praise may come off as hyperbole, but I'm sorry. The game is a masterpiece.

The level design is really excellent but I do have to agree with some of the others on the lack of build diversity and enemy drops. Definitely a step back in terms of RPG design, but I think the action aspect of the game is the best it has ever been.

If it's in the window next to your health and stamina, you should be able to just push square.
