lolololol

edit

Resident Evil 5 GOLD (base game + dlc) is $30 ($21 for 4 days)

It seems to include Versus mode which is 4.99 on Xbox

If it was separate you would be paying around $17 instead of 15.

So its somewhat cheaper..

This DLC needs RE5 as a base or is it stand alone?

*edit* I tested out my pc copy of RE5's GFWL cd key in steam and it activated.

btw, there's no price friendly upgrade from Resi 5 to Gold

even if you own Resident Evil 5, you gotta pay $30 ($21 for the next 4 days) to get the extra gold content

Wait what? This is a separate game? That makes no sense because I have place holder Steam achievements and the DLC is $15.

Someone confirm this.

How dare they. They remove GFWL and finally port over the Gold DLC... and actually plan on charging for it. The nerve.

Gold is the game + dlc in a bundle.

That's more than expected unfortunately. I'll wait till it's on sale before I buy that.

Resident Evil 5 GOLD content is $30 ($21 for 4 days) even if you own Resident Evil 5

Actually, if you already own the base game and buy the Untold Stories DLC it will count as upgrade to Gold edition.

As I wrote in Steam thread, this is ridiculous for several reasons:

-Resident Evil 5 is six years old
-Resident Evil Gold is priced 28 €
-You can find this game NEW on console for 10€, around 5€ used:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003Z9JITW/

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003FW63M4/

-The game was given for free on PS Plus.

This is just shamefull.
Used wouldn't have the code for the dlc, it has been 5 years but this just came out for pc and expect it to be discounted heavy in the near future.

People really want to hate on capcom but there's no reason to be iffy on this. This DLC is great

I don't care about the DLC. Played Gold Edition on the PS3 and didn't really like the DLC. But is gfwl now gone or what? I already have the game but never played it on steam because of gfwl (it was a birthday gift)

it's just a dumb move

im not feeling betrayed or mad about it, they just won't get my money

it took them 5 years to port this and remove the annoying GFWL hooks that made people lose a lot of progress and all sorts of other issues

price it at $7.5. or at least do something like that to those who already own the damn game since release

The Untold Stories bundle doesn't include all the Gold content?

yes, hence the striking

Does it at least include all the costumes?

Of course it does.

Versus Mode - Control Chris, Sheva and other RE5 favorites in online battles of up to 4 players! Compete for points by defeating Majini in SLAYERS or take down other players in SURVIVORS. Fight alone or in a team for a total of 4 exciting variations!
Extra Figures - Unlock items in Extra Figures. You will be able to add figures like Barry and Rebecca to your collection.
Additional Costumes – check out Chris' completely new take on tactical field armor with Heavy Metal, and add a bit of elfin fantasy to Sheva with Fairy Tale. These costumes can also be used in The Mercenaries Reunion in addition to the main story.

It does.

If you don't have RE5, you can buy both for $21 (you save like 80 cents this way).

If you do have RE5, you can pay $15 for the Untold Stories DLC, which is the Gold content.

Mind you, $15 is still way too much.

Yeah it's kind of off to see the DLC with no discount at all.

The DLC (at least on of them, the other is nothing extraordinary) is good, the price is not. Also you can't be sure if used copies come with no code, if they do, you can fill a claim on Amazon because it's not what you purchased.
I'm super sure that they specifically say that game codes that came with used game COULD be used already so I don't think that's a sure fire way for the DLC. I'm just saying everyone should get this especially when it's on sale alongside REV2 when RE0Hd comes out

:]

Sorry guys, but it's worth it for one of the best DLCs out there in Lost in Nightmares. Desperate Escape is nice too, and the extra costumes and stuff is nice.

I dont see the big deal.

The DLC content is more than worth the price. It's a pretty hefty expansion.

I really didn't want versus. Wish that would have been priced separately. I did my time getting all the trophies and achievements for that mode. I'd rather save some cash on the DLC content mercs stuff which is what I want.

The main complaint for others just seems to be that there is no loyalty discount for the base DLC itself.

My mind's telling me no. But my body...

I think I'll wait for this to hit a 50% off sale on Steam, at least. Looking up the two DLC campaigns, it seems they're both only about 1 hour in length, which I think is a bit short for the price and that's all I'm interested in, really. More Mercenaries content is nice too, but, not £12 worth of nice.

Always wanted to give the DLC a shot after hearing really good things, but I'm sorta iffy on spending $15 for it.

Really hyped for some more RE content after having a great time with Revelations 2 so I'm hopeful we get a price drop soon.

Here's the only little quibble I have. So vanilla is £4.76 at the moment while the Gold Ed is £16.09 which if you subtract the current vanilla game price off of that you get £11.39 which is less than the £11.99 Capcom want for the Gold Ed DLC for existing customers. So the best 'deal' is for new folks. Suppose I'm used to it by now changing all my utilities and bank accounts to get better prices, rates & deals as introductory offers.

Apparently the DLC is supposed to be discounted as wel but someone forgot to hit the switch

The DLC is also meant to be discounted for people with the game, that doesn't seem to be live yet.
Also at time of writing the patch is not live, but it should be available soon.

Hoping for 50% discount

I lied we ain't getting shit, guess there was some miscommunication.

If you already own regular RE5 through either Steam or a boxed retail Games For Windows Live, you can acquire a free Steamworks copy and then purchase the new Gold Edition content for $14.99. If you don't own RE5 in any form, you can pick up the entire game (RE5 + Gold Edition content) at a discount price for a limited time. The standard RE5 is also still available, and is also on sale.

It's actually pretty terrible outside of the atmosphere.

OH and WTF. I tried to download it on my new PC and it only download a 103 MB files haha.

I activated my retail key and tried to download the game, but steam only downloads 103MB (directX install files) but nothing from the actual game.
Verifying the cache or restarting steam didn't help.
Has anyone the same problem or a solution?

This DLC might be new to PC but the price is still crazy. That's a similar cost to a DLC pack for a current title, no way should a port of some DLC for a 5 year old game cost this much.

I'll pick it up if it ever goes on sale but otherwise, no chance.

So wait, PC gamers got to experience the sequel to what was the most important game of its generation, in full, seven years late? And then have to pay double for what I could experience the whole collection now.

Master race how exactly?
