Resident Evil 5: Untold Stories DLC is FINALLY out on PC and they wanna charge $15

I activated my retail key and tried to download the game, but steam only downloads 103MB (directX install files) but nothing from the actual game.
Verifying the cache or restarting steam didn't help.
Has anyone the same problem or a solution?

The steamworks patch is not live yet, so for some reason it is only downloading the prerequisites and not the game files.

So wait, PC gamers got to experience the sequel to what was the most important game of its generation, in full, seven years late?

Master race how exactly?

I am not sure what you guys were expecting for base price for this DLC. 15$ for the DLC is right in line with what it was on the consoles. If your somehow upset at 15 dollars (which this content is worth for sure, especially if you like the mercenaries), just wait for a sale. It is pretty simple.

Why does the GFWL key only work for for some people and not others (like me)?

Your key probably hasn't been added to the master list yet. Same thing happened when Dead Rising 2 went steamworks, it took a day or two for some people to be able to activate their key.

I can't tell if you are serious.

As for the DLC, there is no way in hell I'm paying $15 for that.

Not sure why people were expecting it to be free...it cost development time to port Im sure.

I do think it's a little overpriced...but Ill just wait until the next sale. In the meantime if gives me more reason to start and finish the PC version of RE5 which I already own but never played.

I suppose it's the nature of the internet to complain but many of the same people who begged for this to come out on PC are now complaining that Capcom has the nerve to charge money for it. I'm sure if Capcom had released it for free then they'd find something else to complain about, like it being a crappy port. I guess some people are never satisfied. I for one will wait for it to go on sale but I don't fault Capcom for charging especially since I bought the game for $4.99, which is a steal compared to what I paid to buy it on the Xbox360 with all of the DLC.

I still find it amazing that they're charging $15 for the DLC but can't be bothered to include Co op and removed Nvidia 3d support.
I'm making a joke, nobody here agrees with the master race sentiment so surely that's quite clear?
Well you're a new poster and it looked like you were shit posting, so naturally others jumped to conclusions.

People only expected free DLC since that's what happened with Bioshock 2; it's corresponding DLC going free with the Steamworks conversion. But that was a totally different company, not sure why people expected the same from Capcom.

I'm fine with them charging for the DLC, they made the effort to finally port it over. $15.00 is absurdly high though. I think I paid around $11.00 out of the gate when it first released on PS3 several years ago *shrugs*

There should have been a discount for legacy buyers at least. Anyway, I'll be waiting for a sale, like I'm sure 99% of you RE5 owners are doing too.

RE5 has been out on PC since forever. They just ported the DLC now that they were removing GFWL anyway.

It's great DLC and porting the game over to Steamworks and then porting all the DLC that never came to PC before wasn't exactly free for them. If the price is too high for you, wait for the next Steam sale, you've already waited a few years.

As I said a month ago in another thread; them even charging for this is stupid. It is 5 year old content and it probably cost them next to nothing to port it over to PC. If it had then you can bet Capcom would've been Capcom and just never have done it. Anyone who drops 15 bucks on this... well, I'll just cut myself off there.

You're lucky they even bothered to port it. Don't sound so entitled, if you don't agree with the price just pretend it doesn't exist like it hasn't the past 5 years.

People complaining about them charging for it are out of their minds. It DOES take work, $14.99 is a little bit high, but just wait for it go on sale. We should all be glad they didn't just abandon RE5 PC altogether. The only thing I can complain about is that apparently they took away the Nvidia 3D support, and didn't put in splitscreen co-op. Still, only the removal of features really annoys me, as there was apparently already a mod that existed for the GFWL version that put that back in, so I think it is likely that it can be ported to the Steam version. Still, it would have been a nice gesture from Capcom.

It's actually pretty terrible outside of the atmosphere.

What's do you find so terrible about it? I thought atmosphere is what everyone wanted after being disappointed with 5's. It's a big damn piece. Though the story, lack of ammo and voice acting are great in it, so couldn't disagree with you more.

That's definitely $10 too much.

I already played it 5 years ago, I was keen on replaying it on PC, but at that price? I might as well wait for a sale or skip it altogether.

Oh don't worry, you'll get your 40$ remaster soon

They had to put some work into it to get it moved to steamworks and on the pc. there's nothing wrong with them charging for it.

I'll wait for a sale for RE5, I've waited this long and I already played it all on PS3 anyway.

It's expensive but people wanting it for free are pushing it.

Y'all gonna wait for steam sales anyways, so why all this crying over the price?

Well, to be fair, Capcom could've put a more enticing pricing system in place for those who own the base game on PC. I think $21 for the entire package is not bad at all, especially for those who don't own the base game on PC (like me).

But the heightened levels of crying are here because the OP set the tone not even with the initial post... the thread title does the job.

There IS, however, fairness to discussing both angles -- the merits of the DLC itself (as a game), and the pricing of relatively old content. I'm quite curious as to what would happen to GAF if another "old game" say, Red Dead Redemption, got ported over to PC
[haha, NOT going to happen from the looks of it]
and Rockstar wanted to charge some absurd price for it.

ANYWAY... how does RE5 perform on PC? (Resolution, framerate, etc). If it's good I'll spend the $21....

As well as you might expect, it's a decent port and the game still holds up. Can't make claims over the DLC because I don't play versus and even though Lost in Nightmares is excellent and Desperate Escape challenging and fun, I don't think that's worth $15. Maybe $10.

So if you play versus... that's a yes... ?

Thanks for the info.

I rarely ever play multiplayer for anything, so Versus is of no interest to me. I'm interested in the campaigns (main campaign plus the DLC stuff) and Mercenaries. I don't own the base game on PC so $21 for the whole package is reasonable.

uhh, yeah 15€ is a tad bit too much.
Also I can't even get the original game to install properly on Steam.
