Old Yharnham making anyone else's PS4 seem as if it's dying? I'm getting a decent amount of stuttering and sound cuts.

Cheers, guys/gals.

I see and hear that kind of thing in areas littered with smoke. The PS4 probably does not like all that alpha transparency.

Here's what worked for me. During the first phase, before he transforms into a werewolf, fight him on the right side as you walk in. Put the tombstones that are there between you and him. He will hack and slash and hit the tombstones for the most part. You will need to circle strafe around the tombstones to keep them between you and him. Then, if you have the cane, you can turn it in a whip and whip him. The whip will go above the tombstones and hit him. Keep doing this until he turns into a werewolf. If you don't have the cane, you'll need to use the ranged attack of your weapon to get close, then use the tombstones a buffer to allow you to heal. He will hit you this way, that's why the cane-whip is better here.

One he transforms, use the music box and it will stun him for a bit. Use your heavy attacks at this point, then back away and throw as many molotovs on him as you can. If he's not dead, run away using the trees as a buffer between you and him. This is the toughest part of the fight. Because if he gets you in a combo, it's over. You need to try and kill him as quick as you can after he transforms, healing as much as you can.

I didn't realize it before, but is he
the father of the little girl that went missing? That would explain his vulnerability to the music box I guess. It was so sad when I brought her mother's brooch to her :(

Seen some terrible stutter in the first part of Old Yharnham with nothing even happening on screen. Like it freezes up for a second.

Hadn't had any performance issues prior to that, it's odd.

Depends on a few things: If you've only Killed the Cleric beast, then don't farm for the key just yet, the place you need to use the key on is a ways off and you'll get alot of souls during later parts of the game.

If you need to proceed and have exhausted all other options, then you have to.

Thanks. I will simply proceed.

Stuck on Cleric Beast and I see people talking about leveling up your weapon and stuff. I have 1200 echoes and I'm at the Doll, but I don't see anything to level up weapons?

1st lamp in yarnham. Go left down through house left at dogs. Across bridge is house on left.

thanks dude, thats some good memory. and the girl to give the red brooch to, since im in the zone?

Wow :lol the peek-a-boo-part of this game! So cool!

Can someone settle my fears? What I'm saying is probably pretty stupid, but I fear I've already seen like half the game. The game doesn't come out until tomorrow here in the UK, but I've been watching quite a lot of streams over the past few days.

I've seen the opening area, a little bit ahead of that, like 3 bosses and the first level of the chalice dungeon. Am I just being stupid and there's waaayyyy more areas than that right? That are completely different?
You are being stupid by watching streams and then worrying about spoilers.

Thanks, this helps a lot. No coop help on father g for me, I guess ... Have to save that insight.

The bell from the shop is only for offering assistance to other players. You can get the bell for summoning other people to help you for free, it's right beside the doll lady (some messengers in the ground are holding it, like they did when you first got your weapons)

In regards to the question:

He is the father, or it is heavily implied that he is. If you read the description on the Music Box, then it'll mention two names, His and Viola. Tragic story really...

Holy shit. I know I cant compare with Yoshi and the likes, but that in 24hours owning the game I already have 10hours played is big for me lol I just cant stop. THIS GAME!

Is it just me or does the kirkhammer suck? I get no damage increase while in hammer mode, the ax still seems to be the best.

Me again in a new OT begging for help.

i'm lvl23 and i'm stuck on the 3rd boss, and need help from my fellow gaffers.
anyone out there willing to hear my call.

You use bloodstones to level your weapon up, you do that from inside the house and not the doll. But I don't think that unlocks until after you beat the Cleric Beast

Where do you see your time invested? I stayed home from work yesterday because I couldn't stop thinking about it as I was getting ready. I literally played for like 13 hours straight yesterday, right up until midnight. It was the best day ever; I regret nothing.

Sadly didn't get much time with bloodborne today. Hopefully more tomorrow but for those that use the saw cleaver, when you fought the cleric beast did you use extended mode or short mode?

Select load game instead of continue.

You get slightly more DPS in short mode. Extended just gives you range. Get in close, stay behind him and just wail on his legs.

Where do I go after Father G? I'm in Old Yharnham now with the gunner on the tower, am I going the right way? The Cathederal ward was blocked off with a gate that needed and emblem
Why the fuck is someone posting like this? Defeats the entire purpose of having spoilers.

Wouldn't be a Souls game without Valley of Defilement/Blighttown/No-Man's Wharf :D

There are also some odd sound glitches, a buzz like sound. The game definitely struggles there.

Go to the house at the top of the hill. There's a workbench there.

No it was already unlocked. Just leveled up my Cane. Now my question is, do I use the last of my Echoes to level up Skill for Cane use or how does this work? I'm kinda confused how the systems work as I haven't played a Souls type game since Souls 1.

there is a location in which enemies change completely when you progress with the story. pretty cool

also I was wrong about the little girl quest,
you do find her sister when she's dead. and she's happy for wearing her fucking ribbon after you give it to her.
not sure if there's more to it but it seems that
the little girl is going to die no matter what you pick.
:( damn you FromSoft

also to quote Ferrio from the OT1, no, you can't really stop healing spam with the gun, it's just too fast.

I am so lost. Trying to find where Blood Starving Beast is at but I don't have that much vials. Used up a bit dealing with the enemies and gunner. Second hunter was surprisingly easy.

I have the bell, but using it and failing to beat a boss would mean that I lose insight, right? That is why I have to resist summoning for help.

The hunter shooting at you at the tower fell to his death after a couple of hits, but his body fell to a place i can't reach. Does he drop anything good?

Glad it's not just me. The first part, after the bridge, going back to that area or crossing through it causes stutter/sound cuts. Always that area. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for everyone else.

So Old Yharnam. What an eerie, spine chilling, dreadful place. Loved every second spent there. The beasts, the ambushes, the shrieks they make, the moans. Holy fucking shit this game.

Managed to explore and hunt all the beasts without dying at all. Boss is near but can't risk losing 30k echoes.

And how much I missed the feeling when you are so deep inside an area that you can't even remember the way back then you find and open the shortcut that brings you back to the start. Oh FROM, you magnificent level design bastards.

This game is FAN-TAS-TIC.
