Is he one of the early bosses? I didn't have much trouble with him, it only took me around 3 attempts. But the Clerek beast was a different story, took me like 10 or more times, found him much harder.

go back to the dream then go back to the top or the tower, the item will be there.
He drops the item that lets you buy his gear. Just exit game and continue, his drops will be right next to the gun.
He drops the item that unlocks new stuff in the store, including my current main weapon which I love and you can't have it because it's mine

Ugh, this game... I dunno. It's not a bad game by any means, I just feel like it's an action game that moves at a much slower pace and that's what frustrates me. I wouldn't mind having to run through the same areas over and over again if my character moved more briskly. This game feels like the elderly version of DMC. The lock on system sucks and I find myself struggling with the camera at times when I need to be focusing on the guy trying to skewer me. Guess I'll give this boss a few more tries before I give up for the day, now to grind out more blood to repair my weapon and buy cocktails, I feel like I might as well be playing Destiny...

you can either (a) Use numbing mist when she starts charging it (there is a stack of 6 in the "area" before reaching her, up a tall ladder near the gate you pass under every time you go up to fight her after you wipe), or (b) a fully-charged R2 attack will interrupt the heal.
Numbing mist is easier and more reliable as if youre too far away you wont be able to get to her to attack her out of it in time.
Also, use Fire Paper. you can buy them for 1 insight each at the upstairs vendor
Another thing that helps is using the 2H axe or whip, as the overhead/vertical attacks will hit her head and once she takes a certain amt of damage to her head, she lowers it and you can R1 her face for a bunch of damage.

Does anyone know when STR starts to soft cap? Got about 21 points in it so far.
That's the beauty of Souls games. Some bosses take one or two tries for some while it takes ten for others.

Softcap for STR and SKILL is 25, hardcap is 50.
Everything softcaps at 25 except for VIT and END.

Cannot beat
. I cannot beat her healin and out of that item to cancel it. Can dance around her all I want but get her to less than half and boom restart. Such crap. So only way to beat her bullshit healing is by leveling up or getting a weapon that does more damage.
Ugh.

I just spent an hour in that beast town with the guy manning the gatling gun. I killed the hunter and then got murdafied killing one of those crows. I got stuck on something and then mowed down by the gatling gun. Is there a bonfire/light before the boss?
This game hurts, but it hurts soooo good. Anyways I hope to recover those 9k souls later tonight.
