I heard there's a place where you can
get taken prisoner
in the cathedral. Can someone spoil it for me? How do you get there from the lantern in the cathedral ward? I've been everywhere but can't seem to find it.

There is an enemy outside the catherdral (go for the exit straight across from the lamp. Turn right and go around the corner. Let it kill you.

Just beat Rom
- how far exactly am I? I've only got 16 hours of playtime on the clock, and 2 of those were to this boss/having to farm up vials because I'd run out....

Is BSB supposed to transform? He's the only boss I've managed to beat on my first try and I thought he was extremely easy. As far as I know, he never transformed. Maybe I had a lucky run against him, lol.

He has at least 2 modes, his early one and then at one point he starts freaking out and becomes more aggressive. I didn't notice a 3rd form, though.

Just got the Cannon. 440 attack power. :-O

Freak out scream is his transformation.

I've tried everything and nothing works consistently for me. Some say to just run, others to run and jump. I still occasionally get hit, irrespective of which direction I'm going on.

I honestly think that the tracking on the missiles is broken in some way.

Rolling works.

Can you tell me that boss's location, please?

I've already downed like 6 bosses and haven't found it.

For real? I had no idea you could tackle them in different orders.

He is
all the way at the bottom of Old Yharnam, if you keep descending from where gatling gun dude is

Died at the 3rd boss 20x.
Every time without fail I die on her third form. For some reason, even when I'm far away from her, I'm getting poisoned. And I have the anti poison clothes. Fuck this game.
Yep, that part is hard as hell. When she gets down to about 1/4 of her health, I just stayed away and chucked Molotov cocktails. I also made sure to be stocked up on Blood Vials, because that poison drains your health fast. You can always farm antidotes as well, from the tall reaper guys in the white robes and the crows

So I'm at about 12.5 hours of playtime and I just beat the 4th boss an hour or two ago. People who finished already, about how long did you clock in at?

Same... I'm finding this game to be MUCH easier than Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2.

I dunno, Cleric Beast (10-15 tries) gave me more trouble than anything in Dark Souls 1. But I didn't beat the game, only got halfway through. Only played 10 hours of Dark Souls 2

Father G and BSB were both pretty easy for me though, I did Father G in 3 tries and BSB in 1.

Don't get hit? I've never been poisoned by BSB. There also aren't forms, it just re poisons itself.

So I'm passed BsB and around level 30. I can't seem to make any useful progress. Boss 4
priestess that turns into a giant mummy dog
seems like too much of a jump for me though (destroys me in seconds and I barely do any damage) What am I missing?

there are at least two other paths from the bottom of the stairs leading up to that boss.
ive chosen the left one and got pretty far, to another boss.

I haven't killed a single boss on my first try, but I've beat 4 out of 6 on the second try.

Only played a bit but I really like it so far, prefer it to DS or DE even. Curious though, what's the point of that Blunderbuss in my left hand? It does hardly any damage at all so it seems pretty useless so far.

Oh boy, loving the
Holy Sword
, I think this might be what finally replaces my Hunter Axe if it has the better strength scaling. (Can someone spoil me on the final upgraded scalings for that and the Hunter Axe?)

Still, I'm gonna miss that polearm charge attack. That double swing is easily my favorite and most overused attack in the game.

It's for crowd control (stunning) and parrying, not pure damage.

If you time the shot right as an enemy attacks, you can stun it and riposte for massive damage. 1 shots a lot of enemies and does huge damage to bosses. It's very important

It has a firing delay and a bit of spread. Use the pistol, instead. If you shoot an enemy just as he's about to hit you, it stuns them and sets them up for a Visceral Attack.

So a question about the Cathedral Ward main area -
I went back after sending two people to the ward. I got the Blood of Amelia from the young female, which seems like a neat item. But I noticed a previously locked door was now unlocked and went exploring. Was that unlocked because I sent people to the cathedral? Or something else I did.

Once you start upgrading your firearm, it actually becomes very useful for dealing with snipers in the later stages. Can kill snipers in 2-4 shots. Bullets are ridiculously common, as well, I've had 99 in storage since the beginning of the game. 99 Vials the vast majority of the time, as well. Storage is OP, I think they could have handled it better. I preferred the way they did Estus in Dark Souls.

I often find myself using vials at full health or shooting at nothing, because my OCD won't let me leave items lying around on the ground, even if my Storage is full.

Can someone tell me where else I can go?

I've killed Cleric, Gascoigne, Vicar, Poison Bastard Wolfdog, Witch Clone Lady and Darkbeast Paarl. I've tried going to the door where the giant beast has the vortex trap if you try to open the door (Right path of cathedral). I've also been to the church workshop but cannot open the door at the very top.

Jesus Christ.

The Woods area is a complete fucking labyrinth. I dunno where the fuck I'm going..only found one lantern to light and that was way before. :(

Thankfully I just found a shortcut from the lantern but good god. This place twists and turns you all upside down, especially if you're trying to explore and not miss anything.

Got home from work after thinking about Father G all day and took him out solo on 1st try. Made it all the way through Old Yarnham and then climbed this ladder to a guy with a gun...

Lawd, it never ends with this game. Made serious progress, though, so I can't complain. I have the parry down pat and am rolling monsters. I love From Software.

Gotcha, guess I need to spend a bit of time figuring out how to use it properly then. So far the dodging has done most of what I needed considering how awesome it is compared to other recent From games. Sounds like that's all about to change once I meet my first boss though.
