Skipped Dark Souls 2 so I was very rusty on this type of game. Beat the first two bosses tonight and its all coming back to me now. Iiiiii fucking love this game.
Make him fall off the roof, then quit to menu and come back. Loot will be on the ground up where he spawns. Tried and true Souls method.
It's funny, in my case he didn't even do anything. Just immediately did a graceful swan dive to the ground below. He knew I wanted that stake driver.
I killed her, too. I don't care at all. I put her out of her misery, did her a favor and all.

Has anyone else ran into a fast travel glitch ? Previous Locations arnt showing up in hunters dream. I use the lamp to get there but can't go back.

So far, best strategy seems to be bating him into falling off the roof. If you quit and reload there, his drop should be there.
Check the other nearby tombstones up the stairs in the dream, there several that have fast travel.

I was just as bad, I used about 10 vials and a LOT of antidotes.(Granted the antidotes were over multiple runthroughs)

I believe they have to be within 10 levels of each other to play coop. Not for sure on this but I couldn't play with one friend to help with second boss and I was like 16 lvs higher than him. But me and other friends are around the same lvl and we play together no prob.

Same issue here. I was getting summoned and invading no problem yesterday in the same areas. Today, nothing.

I don't know why people are struggling on this guy, was literally easier for me to kill than a regular enemy in the same area -
I climbed the ladder as fast as you can, lock on and shoot as fast as you can over and over and over, he will fall off the ledge to his death from the knockbacks, climb down and loot the corpse
Currently getting my ass whooped by BSB though

No idea. To be fair, I'd done everything you could beforehand (other than Chalice dungeons) and had to fight him to proceed the story. I'm only 16 hours in mind you, so I haven't been grinding. Then again, until that boss, I hadn't been dying at all either....

Before BSB you have a street with a werewolf and a hooded beast, just before that there is a tower, you should recognize it because a werewolf jumps out through the door of that tower. Go up through the stairs inside the tower and you'll see a door that leads to a few alleys until you arrive to the entrance of Old Yharnam. So on your way back to the boss you only have a man beast, a wolfe, a hooded man beast, and another wolf, all of them are totally avoidable.

I love that more people are hating this fight. Makes me feel less crazy that he's the only boss/section I got stuck on at all during the game. So frustrating.
I can't wait for someone to actually work out and prove the best way to consistently dodge his ranged attacks. Until then, I'm just convinced that they're broken.

So 25 STR, 25 SKL is definitely the way to go for a Ludwig's Holy Blade user, correct? I mean the bonus to both just seems too good to pass up, instead of just focusing on STR and getting the diminishing returns...
Although, that leaves no room for Bloodtinge or Arcane.
