How is bloodtinge stat in this game? Anyone use it?

I'm mainly leveling str and skill atm, w/ the occasional vit and end, plan on taking a break once with str and skill around 40 each. Trying to decide between Bloodtige or arcane after.

There is magic in the game. You have to find them. We still don't know much about the game.

While this is true I don't imagine a 'magic' build really being a thing. I have 4 spells and they all consume bullets, which isn't something you have much leniency with.

If playing offline you can use the beckon bell to summon an npc to help you - useful if you are stuck. I did it for the first boss on my muck around run to learn game dynamics.

Somewhat weird question for the location after the ~7th boss.
Rom

In Ya'hargul, all of the enemies do insane damage, enough to two shot me, and are infinitly respawing. I just got past the eye laser stair case and now i ran into 3 hunters i have to fight next to the Gaol lampost. Is this a "get good" stage of the game, or is my insight causing movesets, stats, and events to get tough? I have 60 insight.

Also in the Grand Cathedral
how am I supposed to fight Crow hunter's prey? He's got infinite quickening, and a 2 shot kill pistol and katana. Im only level 55, but my stats seem good for this point in the game. I do ~240 damage with Ludwigs Greatsword

Everything was fine up to the boss, I was defeating every boss in a couple runs exploring areas, but now it's gotten terribly difficult. Is it related to to that recent story beat, and can I do anything about it?

Fuck. Just lost 22k echoes to one of those fat assholes with the axes.

Total BS. I parryed it twice, but his attack still kept hitting me. By the time I recovered to try a visceral attack, he became unstunned and did a crazy long combo.

Done for the night before I get more pissed.
Go get them back, meng!

The bells are fine, way better than the soapstones imo. The real problem is the system doesn't work. Broadbandit and I tried all night to co op, but even with the same password it never connected. If it actually worked right, it would be fine, just ring the bell when you need help, or ring it if you wanna help, but most of the time it takes forever to connect to anyone.

Vials I dont really mind I have like 60 in stock right now, they drop like crazy from everything and even when I'm chugging them I never usually run out. If you do need to farm though, the load times make it unbearable.
Yeah, that's why the bells are clearly a step back lol. If ringing the helper bell put up a little circle in other peoples worlds for you to help, there would be no wasted insight and no endless waiting.

And I don't care if you don't mind because you have a lot of stock, that doesn't matter haha. There's a cap anyway (just like estus), it's just you have to do stupid bullshit if you ever run out during boss fights (when you really need them to get them back). Compare that to estus which does the exact same thing but without the extra frustrating step. And this was a problem that was already solved! There's literally no reason to make them run out other than "that's how demon souls is", which is literally a step back haha.

I do like insight over humanity however, especially since I know it adds extra enemies.

Yep, and I used all of the item that can stop it.

Got her down to 20% HP. Can't let her break me.

when she
heals rush at her and while running just go apeshit with R2. Even when she's coming out of the healing animation keep doing it for 1 or 2 more hits as it will likely stagger her. At this point there's a chance she will fall on her knees and you can do crit strike with r1 on her head

I did the same. No clue on what'll happen yet. If you talk to him again you can "divulge info" which I chose not to do yet, since the notes around him said to be careful. The world is surprisngly NPC scarce though so I was just glad to see a non-hostile face

I guess I will just go with it for now. There is usually npc stories to progress.

Alfred. He's a church hunter.

Ah yes, that name rings a bell.

Thats not the fourth boss. You might want to leave there asap after you find the lantern
(its right upstairs from the cells)

Thanks for the tip, I'll grab it and bail, but I might cheese some of these enemies first since they drop twin blood stones for my saw spear.

You practically have unlimited bullets. Emergency bullets give me you 5 which you can just top off with a vial.

Anyone want to help me kill the boss of nightmare frontier? I can't seem to get this guy. I'm level 52 and waiting outside the gate.

Still exploring the Cathedral Ward and I feel like it branches off into dozens of potential routes. I've spent the last two days figuring out where they all go. Now it's time to choose.

Friend is in the same exact area, same password and settings and yet we can't match with each other???????

Anyone else getting these problems?

Ahh, I'm still in the central Yarnham area, haven't had much time to get that far yet :-/

There are two enemies near the fog door to Father G. One of them has a good chance to drop blood shards. I fight them as part of my vial/bullet runs. Start from Central Yarnham lantern, then take the shortcut door and fight the guys on the first floor of the house, then the brick guys outside. Then take the elevator down, cross the bridge and fight off the mob there (watch out for the flaming boulder), then go up the stairs. Then you'll see the two enemies I was talking about. They are both facing a corner, throw a pebble at the one on the right and then kill it, then backstab the other one.

i havn't PVP yet, how is everyone liking it?

Not. And I haven't lost a fight either, it's just tedious with the healing and speed and everyone is basically doing the same thing.

Btw, if I'm doing VA as the third boss, I can still do BSB afterwards, right?

Yup. I don't suggest VA first though. Had a much easier time with BSB myself(never died on BSB died twice on VA, both solo). VA has some [boss behavior spoiler)
vicious healing that she does that can get a full 1/4-1/3 of her health back.
.

Edit:

Lots. What I find helps is when the person that's getting summoned closes their app and restarts multiple times, also make sure you're close to one another physically.

The matchmaking seems to have been spotty for the last couple of days, but are you using Local or Worldwide search in your network settings?

and she
loves spamming it back to back if you don't stagger her to a crit

one major complaint i have is how hard it is to see your dropped Echoes. i mean seriously, the dropped souls in the previous games were very visible.

Can you upgrade armor sets or just weapons this time around? I've only seen weapons for now

Yeah, that's qhy the bells are clearly a step back lol. If ringing the helper bell put up a little circle in other peoples worlds for you to help, there would be no wasted insight and no endless waiting.

I mean, that's not really true though. The bell system is fine, bworthe multiplayer is fundamentally broken. It would be like in your scenario, you ring the bell, but no one can see your circle to click. It's a networking problem, not a mechanics problem.

Chalice Dungeon is basically Diablo+Souls series gameplay. Yo get Blood Gems with different stat rolls, and weapon variants with different imprints than the normal version of the same weapon. The harder the dungeon the greater the chance to get a gem with great rolls.

There are fixed dungeons and randomized dungeons. The random dungeons are created using Root Chalice, these change everytime you perform a new ritual. The fixed ones are bonus dungeons created by FROM themselves, with new bosses not found in the main game and they are also much much tougher than anything I've encountered in the game so far.

i havn't PVP yet, how is everyone liking it?

I've pvp'd a fair bit (it's pretty easy to get invasions in the nightmare frontier) and while I can see potential in the basic movesets for exciting pvp, the problem is the ease of healing. since movement speed is faster and twitchier than dark souls, and it takes much less time to chug a potion than in dark souls, it's even more impossible to stop people from doing it. there's also no easily farmable or buyable lloyd's talisman item -- you have numbing agent or whatever it's called, but there's no reliable way to get it. I already ran through mine. and even if you DO have it, it's incredibly easy to dodge it.

in dark souls, when you go pvp, you never know quite what you're going to get. you may see some guy armored out going high poise, you may see someone with fast stabby weapons, you may see osmeone with a shield, you may see someone with a gigantic sword, you might see people with spell focused builds or miracle focused builds -- there's variety. in bloodborne there really isn't. everyone's basically the same due to the lack of builds and lack of gear variety.

yeah. In Souls game they were shiny as shit. This is barely shiny and sometimes gets confused for the spirit mark of another player

I had to get mine up to 18 to use this new pistol and it's boss as hell, so I think it's worth it for that. You don't exactly one shot enemies though.

You mean every souls game? :/

People will always look for the easiest way to do something.

Dark Souls 2 was basically "use lightning/sun spear" the game. If it wasn't for the fact that I did PvP and didn't waste lightning spears on non-important baddies, I would have never learned to use my melee weapon because spam magic.
